I've only seen the guy in the commercial years ago. Since then, I've haven't even heard his name mentioned, nor do I know much about him. I didn't know he was such big star. |

Yeah Mary Lou Forbes went this past Saturday. She'd won a Pulitzer for covering the desegregation crisis during and after the Brown v. Board of Education case and was a mentor to Carl Bernstein.

The answer is, of course, Billy Mays... OxiClean for all. I half expect it to be given out at the funeral... I mean, he gave it out at his wedding for crying out loud. I bet you it's in his will or something.
Oh... and in more recent news: Fred Travalena, aka The Man of a Thousand Voices, passed away today at 66. Another one bites the dust. |

It was sort of weird. I went into my parents' room. My dad was watching TV and during a commercial break I mentioned Billy's death to him... and then a commercial for the Awesome Auger comes on.

I didn't know that was the guy's name, and I only saw him once in a while pitching his OxiClean. Apparently lots of people liked him though?  |

Yep, that is right, another one dropped dead. This time it was master pitchman and potential sociopath Billy Mays (the OxiClean guy). They don't know exactly how he died, but he was found dead earlier today. There is speculation that it could be tied to a head injury he received recently from stuff falling on his head during a landing in which the plane blew it's front tires, causing a heck of a lot of bumps.
Sadly, my first thought on hearing this... other than "wtf is with all the celebrity deaths?" was wondering if this means that the ShamWOW guy is going to replace him on his show Pitchmen. |
