Tell your boss that somebody dropped some pixie dust on it and it vanished.

Meanwhile, you're out back burning it with a makeshift Super-Soaker flamethrower. :3

That part was a joke, hehe... You know, the whole walkaround that the "tech guy" from -insert computer service here- gives you on the phone?

Yeah, I'm starting to think it's a problem with it being ghosted. Is an OS reinstall an option?

already tried thoes. Glance at my last post >.>

Also, it's just this laptop. over 100 computers are connected to the switches around the center, and if I unplugged one of the routers, over 25% of the processing power and bandwidth would die on center, causing issues for 520 people.

Soooo, not really an option, ahaha.

Okay, unplug your router for 10 seconds to thoroughly discharge the static... *shot*

Try this, not sure if you have or not yet but I hope it works.

This is getting to be a bit much!.
The error code is 0x80072F8F

I've tried the regsvr32 initpki.dll, missip32.dll, softpub.dll, wintrust.dll
I've tried turning OFF the SSL certificate checker 2.0, 3.0, trusted sites recognition, restarting the damn thing (again)...
Next I'm just going to see if my Active X controls went corrupt x.X past that, I might actually be out of ideas.

Heh, well I tried. Any specific error messages that I can probably Google?

Interesting twist with the coding, bud, but the problem is that script tells you to fix the Service Pack 2 coding that got corrupted and refused to update to a Service Pack 3.
I ran the script just in case, btw, but still no go. Thanks a million for trying, and for such a fast response.

I'm hoping too, I had to address a similar issue a couple years ago on my old pc, not sure if this fix will work given your particular symptoms, but it's worth a try.

Obviously I'm on the wrong page here.

Well hopefully that works for you.

See if this works

1. Open notepad

2. Copy the following text and past it into notepad

@echo off

if exist %windir%\system32\wups2.dll goto fix32
if exist %windir%\syswow64\wups2.dll goto fix64
goto error

:fix32
net stop wuauserv
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\wups2.dll
net start wuauserv
goto eoj

:fix64
net stop wuauserv
regsvr32 %windir%\syswow64\wups2.dll
net start wuauserv
goto eoj

:error
echo Unable to locate wups2.dll operation aborted

:eoj
pause

3. Save the file and name it sp3fix.bat
4. Run the sp3fix.bat file

You should get a regsvr32 confirmation window, click OK
Your windows updates should now work.

I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about at all, but I think I hear that stuff is related to the cmos battery, if the time keeps resetting that could mean it's dead. Maybe replacing that would do it?

Best place I could find for this.

Windows XP SP3 refuses to update the system due to the Time and Date syncronization and update certification problems.

The time and date are correct
I have the right time zone
It is not a w32nt.exe problem
It is not the cookies, cache, history type problem
Already tried restarting w32nt.exe
Tryed rebooting the system itself

I'm soooo lost. Even my boss, the System Administrator, is a tad lost.

Any ideas?
