Well... I thought I might have a problem with sleeping so I thought, do I have a sleeping disorder problem?

Here is what's happened:

Most of the time, I slept so much that I rest 2 times a day... (Sometime, it is just 1 time a day.) Those 2 times a day start around 12 - 10am and start 5 pm - 10 pm giving a total of 15 hours of rest.

The problem? The problem itself. I have never get into a serious fight with both my mother and my brother, taken my time, have a little fun, and enjoy my cool room. (By cool room, I mean like easy to relax in summer cool.) I also spend a little time on things but it is mostly the rest that disturb me the most. Usually, people are suppose to rest for 7-8 hours a day but why do I usually rest for 15 hours a day?

Can anyone help me?

Oh here is some factors that may changed:

- Usually stay up late at my dad's house (but then again, I tend to wake up at 9-12ish.)
- Sometime, I stay up at night. (Usually at midnight.)

Well, do I have sleeping disorder or is there something clearly wrong with me?

I don't think that it is a sleep disorder, since usually those involve not being able to sleep. It is highly unusual to sleep for 15 hours a day, and that may be a sign of a different problem. You might want to talk to your doctor about that... sleeping that much might be a sign of something else like depression or something bad.

Oh...

To tell the truth, I am not in a stage of depression or anything and well... I was thinking that my air condictionning may have affect me or something. I mean, I can get tired or a sign of tireness by relaxing in my own room. (And the windows alway point out at the evening time.)

So do I need to "brighten" my room up or leave the way it is since I may be suffering from something else?

I can't really say... you should ask your doctor.

*pokes and prods you*

Go see doctor, it's the easiest way to find out what is causing this.

I'll tell you what I know I have, and then you can compare. I'm up all night long (mostly because I'm nocturnal) and can't sleep--insomnia.

When I do sleep, I oversleep (over 8) or under sleep (less than 4) at times. Oversleeping--hyperinsomnia. Undersleeping--hypoinsomnia.

How do I know this? My doctor and I assessed the matter, and decided that while I do have insomnia and more frequent hyperinsomnia, it's not too big of an impact on my life since I'm more nocturnal (a night person) than being a day person. It evens out. As long as I schedule important things (like work) at night when I'm up...I'm good.

Ah, glad to hear that Zabuza...

I was thinking that it may be related to sunlight I didn't recieved in my own bedroom and sometime, the air condictionning make my room too cool and I kinda get tired after staying in my bedroom for a while. It is cool and dark in there, and the binder can either darken the room or lighten them. And I was also thinking about how coldness can affect you to make you feel tired.

And I just remember that I am a heavy sleeper, the only things that bother me the most are light so I guess I got what Zabuza said "nocturnal". So this won't affect my life that much, Zabuza? My mother is making a huge deals about it...

Maybe your just a person who needs to sleep alot... My dad sleeps alot when he isnt even tired, its just a natural thing for him to do.. If your mom is really that concerned, tell her to take you to the sleep study clinic on Hall road, you cant miss it. I dont think normal doctors would know to much about why you sleep alot even though their is nothing physically or mentally wrong with you.

Or, it could be your hearing problem? You strain alot to here with the hearing aides and maybe it just makes your brain wear out and makes you want to sleep? At any rate, try to go to the sleep clinic, they could find out what is wrong and get you on a good pattern to control it (unlike a doctor who will probably give you pills to take or send you to a psychaitrist...)

You might not be getting enough pysical activity, from what my mom says, which I believe is true since she worked in a hostpital for many many years, she told me that if I don't move around and stop sitting in a computer chair for 8 hours a day, I'm going to be tired. So maybe you just need to go run around, ride your bike or whatever.

hmmm, you could be right with that one... slight variation though, maybe its because you stare at the screen so long that you get tired. for some reason, playing or working on a computer for a long time makes you very tired for absolutley no reseaon. You do alot of codeing and game playing on the computer, so that would also wear your brain out after awhile. Try drinking a little more caffiene, your body needs atleast some to keep it going, just like it needs fat, vegies, fruit, meat, etc. You drink alot of Caffiene Free Coke and Diet Coke, your body could not have enough caffiene, or maybe its the Diet/Caffiene free coke killing your brain (which is improbable)...

Really, I don't think anything is a disorder anymore. Since when does everyone just have to sleep at night? Why can't we just operate around whenever we feel like it? Why must we conform to a pre-set schedule of doing stuff during the day as opposed to doing stuff whenever we're up? What about us nocturnal people that have no problems being up late at night when we're more awake?

Oh, and caffeine makes me sleepy. So, it may have the same effect on Beo.
