Step 1: Fill the 5 gallon bucket.

Step 2: Fill the 3 gallon bucket with the water from the 5 gallon bucket.

Step 3: Dump the water out of the 3 gallon bucket and pour the remaining water from the 5 gallon bucket into the 3 gallon bucket.

---There is now 2 gallons in the 3 gallon bucket---

Step 4: Refill the 5 gallon bucket.

Step 5: Fill the 3 gallon bucket with the water from the 5 gallon bucket.

---The 5 gallon bucket now contains 4 gallons of water---

I just posted that because that's the only sure way to know that you have an exact amount. Otherwise, the best you could do is "eyeball" the one gallon you pour out.

5 - When you mix red and blue, doesn't it make purple

6 - Unless this is a trick question you have 4 apples, cause you took 4 away..

Well Deesse is correct for riddles 5 and 6 but no one has gotten 4 yet.

Déesse - 20
DJROC - 15
Johnny Literal - 10

4) How many syllabals are in the word Mississippi?

7) You are locked in a room with no doors, windows or anything. Just four walls, a floor and a ceiling. In the room you have a saw, a desk and a baseball bat. How do you get out of the room (There are many answers to this but I'm looking for a specific one)
