This is it, to those who care. If you want in the RP, too late. Members are locked. For weapons, got to the discussion thread and look at the weapons. When posting first post, please help others remember your basic details by copying and pasting. Not too hard, eh.

Note: Only I post the journal entries. I'll be organizing it into chapters and such. If we finish this, the last post will be all the journal entries put together and organized into chapters and such. ^.^ Give us more incentive to finish it.

Example and my information:

Name: John Mark
Age: 17
Appearance: Relatively thin build but was denser in childhood, John stands at about 6'1". He has brown haitr to the bottom of his shoulders, uncut in a year or so. He parts it in the middel so his face is visible, a habit his parents inflicted upon him. However, he has no qualms with the long bangs in his face.
He has a "cute" face as some of his female friends have stated, though he's not Brad Bitt. He's an enimgma in that he oftens looks energetic and exhausted at the same time, disorting other's views of him.

Chaos reigns today. Not that different from any other day. But today, everything's just a little more hectic. That might be because of the shadow creatures attacking innocents and people looking for any possibility to live. I myself am in the National East Coast Civilian Shelter with my family, and all hell has broken loose.
Everyone's so scared at these abominations waiting outside the shelter. They're called "shadow creatures" for the main reason they appear to be made of shadows. Bullets go through them, we've figured out. People don't. They seem to ingest their victims, well depending on the kind, and never spit out any waste. I've come to ponder where the people go, but I don't plan on finding out.
I personally am not scared. That's because I can fight them with my rapier. If you're wondering what I'm talking about, it's a little hard to explain. See, we all have this hidden life force called Croma, it was discovered by the Mayans. Using Croma, we can actually kill these things. But a lot of people either don't believe me or don't have enough Croma to fight these things. I do, and I hope a few in the thousands here do as well.
The National East Coast Nuclear Bomb Shelter is like the old sports stadiums, but so much easier to live in. It's humoungous, big enough to fit a citie's worth of people. We actually can live in here for a superiorly extended period of time, because of the crops we're growing in the Bio Center. Yes, we grow crops here.
We've brought about a sense of normality that shouldn't exist. We can't go outside, so we make due with what we can. Kids play games and families cuddle with each other in thier spaces. I've gotten a room here that I want to use to find others who know what I'm talking about. I put a sign that says "Croma." To anyone who knows what it is, I hope they enter and ask me how I know about it.
It's funny, because I know people here from ALL across America. People that could get here got here. The West Coast Shelter is almost as big, but closer to the enemy nation of China. We're considered safer here, but not to an incredible degree. However, we can't go and visit anyone really. Those shadow beasts have us pinned in. The war's pretty much at a standstill because of these things.
I know we can beat these beasts, no one believes me. I'm going to get a group of people together and find whatever spawns these things and kill it, even if it causts me my life. I know this is a bad omen, but after these things are dead, maybe the war will end and we can rebuild. Maybe we can leave this accursed shield and save humanity from our containment.
Even without a group, I plan on leaving in a few days. I'm a falcon. I can't live in a cage. I need to spread my wings.

Opening post: Describe how family got here, if any members died, and you seeing "Croma" sign.

Name: Kaylee Cambell
Age: 21
Apperance: Hidden by loose dark clothing, Kaylee is lithe and has a well-toned muscle structure. Her pale, heart shaped face is framed by messy dark strawberry blonde hair with stormy grey-blue eyes. She wears black Dickies cargo pants, dark t-shirts, and black Vans or combat boots. She wears no make-up and doesn't really need to.

Kaylee looked around the crowded East Coast Civillian Center with nearly unseeing eyes. She had left her parents on the West Coast after she had gotten word that John had gone MIA. John was her boyfriend, was going to be her fiancee after the war was over; and had last been stationed on the east coast before shipping out to Africa. She had hoped to find out more about where he had been sent, and to be there if he came back. The day after she had arrived, however, the shadow creatures appeared and she had been herded in here with the others.

She didn't have much with her. A large backpack with some clothes and other posessions, and her bow. It was a nice bow, lightweight and made to look like the composite longbows in her D&D handbook. No one seemed to notice that she carried no arrows with her. She didn't need them....

It had been an interesting discovery 3 years ago when she had been toying with the bow one day in El Dorado Park with John. She was joking around about Arcane Archers, a special class in D&D, and explaining it to him when she pulled back the empty string and let it go as she aimed at the bullseye at the opposite end of the archery range. A bolt of energy had shot from the bow and hit the target dead center. John swore never to tell anyone about what he had seen... once she coaxed him out of the Men's room and assured him she wasn't going to kill him.

She came across a book on Mayans a month after that as she searched for an answer to her strange powers, and as she read about Croma it clicked. Funny, a civilization so long ago had knowledge of a power that fantasy writers only dreamed about. John had agreed with her. He rather liked the idea of dating a girl with such cool powers.

As she looked around the shelter, a sign caught her eye. It was hung on a door a few feet away, and on it was the word "Croma". She stood up and walked over to the door, knocking three times before opening it. She spotted a teenage boy, not much younger than her it seemed with an odd look about him.

"Excuse me? Are you the one that put the sign up on the door?"

Name: Wiley Willows
Age: 16
Appearance: Wiley's weight is average for his height (about 6'0''), so his frame isn't particularly muscular, heavy, or thin. His skin is naturally very pale despite the sunny southern home he once lived in. His large, tired, dark, grey-blue eyes are covered by a veil of dark brown curls of hair, which also grows just below his ears and in the back it grows to his jawline. Because of his sudden escape from his home, he was only left with the clothes on his back; a pair of bootcut jeans, a hooded sweatshirt with a blue pinstripe blazer over it, and a pair of old converse sneakers. The clothes were a bit too warm for the south, but he knew the East Coast would be slightly cooler.

Of all the horrible things that came out of his journey to the East, there was a shining light of spirituality that shed itself onto Wiley's shadowy world. His week of travel was simply a series of fortunate and untimely happenings. They started before he could even take his last step through the threshhold of his home.

Monday morning; the Willows home, a large old manor rumored to be owned by past slave traders, caught fire, as the shadow creatures broke the town lines and engulfed the roads. It was ten thirty when the Willows heard news of the shadow creatures and where those who can escape should run. By eleven, a pick up truck that was so finely tuned by Mr. Willows in his spare time managed to sputter awake and roar out of the garage. Because of its speed, they were able to pass through any creatures which barred their way, but as for those humans on foot, it was decided that survival of the fittest was in order; at least three people were mowed down by the pasty-green colored truck. He had seen the creatures devour the people on the streets, people fighting them off with bullets and knives to no prevail. The bullets went right through; the car seemed to be like a bullet of sorts, as it past through the creatures with ease. Wiley couldn't voice his concerns; his father (at the steering wheel), mother, and brother had taken the inside seats. Wiley was forced to be outside on the bed of the truck, holding to the sides for his already jeopardized life. He would'nt be alone if his sister had been there with him, but she had already left home early in the morning to get to her classes at college. Wiley's older brother slept in, so his lazy ways finally managed to get him something good for once. The night before was the last time Wiley would ever see his sister. By eleven thirty, the Willows had left the suburbs and city of Baton Rouge, driving forward onto the stretch of highway which gave easy access to their destination.

They drove all night, and into tuesday morning. So far, for the entire day, the roads were clear but the skies were grey and everything just seemed a little darker than usual.

By wednesday they were running out of gas. Even their reserves carried in containers were gone; they desperately needed to get to a station, and because they were on the highway, it would be difficult to find a town without running out. As if sent by some unknown force, the car sputtered to a stop at the end of the an exit ramp into a town with a station a half a mile down the road. Everything was far too quiet that Wednesday afternoon to say the least. As Wiley, Miles, and Noah went to fill the containers, Mira stayed behind to make sure nobody, despite the fact the town seemed to be a ghost town, took the car. Their trip there and back was successful, with one thing wrong; when they came back Wiley's mother was gone. Not one trace of her was left. Whether she ran or was devoured by one of the creatures, the family never found out. There wasn't time to mourn; they filled the tank and continued on. If it were any other situation, they would have searched for the lost mother.

After continual driving through thursday and friday, the last stretch of highway into the state where the shelter was came into view. But, as everything good that happened to the family, there had to be something equally bad to occur. Saturday night it rained hard. Wiley still sat in the truckbed, making sure their last precious remainder of gasoline wasn't lost. He hadn't eaten in days, nor had he the need to sleep. None of that really mattered; he was dead already. If the creatures had gotten his mother and sister, only time would tell when they would come for him and the rest of his family. But, it wasn't in him to lose complete hope. As long as they kept driving, they would make it to a safe haven.

His dreams of safe driving were all crashed along with their truck early Sunday morning. It looked like an army; the shadow creatures all in scattered ranks upon the highway. Even the car's speed couldn't get them to go through the beings; they eventually latched on one by one and pulled Miles and Noah out of the sides. The car eventually tipped forward violenly; Wiley was catapulted high into the air and fell hard onto the grass on the median of the highway.

Out cold, Wiley didn't get to see his brother and father get devoured whole by the monsters. Instead, something incredible happened.

In his sleep he dreamt, and in the boys dream there was no setting, only rainbows. An existance of colored lights, moving psychadelically around as if it were the air itself. It was a bubble of another existance, something out of the plain of his normal, shadowy world. He walked, but had no legs. He looked down at his arms, but they were not there. He breathed in the air, the rainbow colored existance. It entered whatever he was, and was drained from all around him. He completely engulfed the existance, until all he saw was black. There were no noises, not even his breath. Then, came the voice. He was concious; the black he saw was his closed eyelids.

"That was a dream, it was a dream, a dreamy, dreamy dream... it wasn't actually IN me. That was... so... well, in these times, anything's possible..."

"You most certainly have that right. Anything's possible when we work together!"

"That's right we're a team. Wait. Why did I say that... who's we?"

"We're we, you and me, you set me free!"

"I did, didn't I? We work well toget- wait a minute! The hell is this!? Who exactly is WE? I'm part of We. I'm Wiley of We, who's the second part of We?"

"You ARE fun, aren't you! Open up!"

"Whuh..." Wiley opened his eyes.

The road was empty. No shadows, not even a car. The lights were dim under the cloudy sky. The road was mysteriously dry. The day was fading into night very very slowly. He was on his knees, slumped forward, looking directly ahead of himself. He wasn't surprised at what he saw. It was his dream, in a clean little orb, about the size of a basketball. He was drawn to pick it up.

"Do you know who I am Wiley? Do you know who I am? Who I am? Who I am? Who I am? Who I am? Who I am? Who I am? Who... am I?"

"I know you... you're far more familiar than any stranger I've ever seen. Its not a question of who you are, but what you are..."

"I'm whatever you want me to be, if you want me to be it. You're Heart, Desires, and Mind. You're Imagination, Wiley, I know you knew that. But who am I? Do I have a name?"

"I see what you're saying. You want a name. How do you have a name if you don't have a face?"

"I am millions of faces, all of which are familiar. I am a Familiar so to say. I am the Familiarization of your Imagination. I'm good at rhyming too."

"Kirabo."

"Did you just cuss at me?"

"No... no! No, no. Kirabo, thats you're name."

"What is Kirabo... other than me?"

"It means 'gift'. In an African tongue. That's what you are, aren't you? I can tell you're here specifically for me. The gift of a Million Familiar Faces."

"If you would like to call something that's always been with you a gift, thats fine by me. Weirdo. Anyways, its pretty. Thank you for my name... but you know, I'm not only faces..."

"Were you the one who got rid of all that carnage back there?"

"Technically, it was you. But we'll say it was me, yes. I did. But don't expect ANY stunts like that almost EVER again. If you haven't noticed, I'm still in... well, what you originally dreamt me of. Isn't your mind tired? All the death and the speed of life was taking such a toll on you, right? Right! See, thats why people shouldn't bottle up their thoughts - they all may explode and clean all their problems away in one swoop. BUT, my friend, that will drain your thoughts oh so much, now wouldn't it? I was very powerful when I was dormant. When you were thrown from that truck you let go of almost everything except your bowels (good job with that by the way). We're both weak beings now, do you get what I'm saying?"

"Kinda... so you are my thoughts, I make you want I want you to be, but I cannot do that very much right now because we are both very weak because of what happened, but when we are strong, we can do some pretty useful stuff. So thats what you meant by us being 'team players.'"

"Eh. Close enough. You're thoughts are simple because you are tired, so I am very simple now. In a while you might be able to make me look like something. Its called using your "Croma", Wiley. C-R-O-M-A. Thats what they call that special gift you have. I am your imagination, which is composed of Croma-like materials. In fact, we've been sitting here a while. Try to shape me... just don't make me an elephant or a jet plane or something..."

"Croma, hm..." Wiley took Kirabo in his hands and thought deeply of what he could be. If he were to come into contact with any form of civilization any time soon, he couldn't be seen carrying around a ball of rainbow dreams. People would think he was some sort of... spokes person for some sort of... group.

"Remember! Keep it small! I have little control over it, so I trust you won't turn me into a worm or a toad or something!"

"A toad hm... that doesn't sound so bad..."

With a squeal of protest from Kirabo and a glow from the rainbow light, Wiley made his first attempt at creating his first Familiar.

"Awwwww ohhhhh whyyyy....!!! Wh-- whuh... what? Gah! You had me worried, you clown..."

Wiley held a fox kit, resembling a small dog, in his hands, facing him. Its eyes were dark, but had that same, swirling rainbow light in them.

"Well, thats the only small animal thats not bad that I can think of. There was always a cat, but I hate cats. Don't you hate cats?"

"Well, at least I can trust you now... I think. Together, we'll have you mastering your Crom-atic powers in a short time."

Kirabo took a seat on Wiley's shoulder as he walked down the highway. There was nothing left to block his way. At the end, there lied the Shelter. It seemed like a million mile walk, but with a million faces guiding his way, thats two million feet to walk for him.

Once inside the shelter, Wiley found nobody coming to help him. There were many, many people, all of whom did not seem phased about what was happening outside. He walked past a small field of what looked like crops, with a stand next to it. An uncooked carrot was given to him and Kirabo.

"Craaaazy dog... haven't seen an animal in here for ages..."

Kirabo had no need to eat. His energy was parralell to Wiley's; whatever the boy ate, the Familiar took partial energy from it.

Without a family or room to go to, Wiley searched for any empty or peculiar spots. Both his and Kirabo's eye's caught sight of a sign outside of one of the doors.

CROMA

John stood on top of a counter in the room, looking out a sun-window at the shadows outside. He wondered if any ever thought to do more than just sit there, waiting for humans to expose themselves. He fumbled around in his left pocket for the keys to the car he'd..."acquired". That baby could get him far enough. He heard the doorknob twitch behind him.
His head rotated as per reflex and his left foot tried to find balance. It found a stray paper, and friction with paper is not strong. He let out a yelp as he fell backwards onto the floor behind him. The papers he had made contact with floated gently to the ground, as a groan of pain escaped John's mouth.
"Yeah...I wrote the sign." He began standing up, adjusting his jeans. He wore a black-tshirt, dark blue carpenter jeans, a brown leather belt, and black sneakers. He smiled at the girl, also noticing the boy behind him. "C'mon in. If you know what Croma was, then you're more than welcome to make yourself comfterable." He nodded to both of his visitors as he walked over slowly, opening the door wider. He motioned for them to enter, a smile on his face. This is so awesome. Two already!!

Name: Jake Morris
Age: 20
Appearnace: Wears a brown Billabong hoodie and blue jeans. His messy brown hair looked like a bed head, after the slight wind tossed it around. Slender and tall, he was fit, but not athletic. Handsome, and dignified looking, with angular, sharp features, and green grey eyes.

The weather simulation plants did a good job of simulating a very overcast day. The "sun" didn't shine very much at all. It seemed cold and sterile, still, as Jake Morris walked the streets of the "city", coming home from his classes. He shuddered a bit, and felt a chill. He was bundled up enough; a warm, brown Billabong hoodie and blue jeans. His messy brown hair looked like a bed head, after the slight wind tossed it around. Slender and tall, he was fit, but not athletic. He took long strides as he roamed down the "streets", and passed an old looking apartment. Now, obviously, it's not that old. It was built to receate the feeling of aged buildings, just like in the Outside World. On its door hung a sign that read, in scrawled handwriting, the word, "Croma". Jake subconsciously reached at his arm and grasped it. The silver, Croma encrusted arm with covered by his sweatshirt, and a large, bulky glove. To call it a hand wold be inaccurate; it was more akin to a big claw, hard, cold, and silver, with black veins that coursed through it on the exterior. This "Croma" was a strange feeling when he first tampered with Mayan energies, several months ago. It hurt, and felt as cold as ice when he first attained tis irregularity. But now, he's used to it, and doesn't really feel the pain. He knocked the metallic green, heavy door as he stood on it's concrete porch. There was no answer. Jake looked around, and finally used his gloved hand to turn the handle. It was unlocked, and he peered around the interior. It was dark in the foyer, but there was the shine of light coming from a room deeper in the building. "Hello? Is anybody there?"

Wiley leaned silently on the wall of the room. Kirabo paced around, getting a feel for his new body; with such energy wasted, he got the feeling he would have to stay in that form for a long, long time. He watched as another wandering soul found its place in the Croma room. They lifted their sleeve.

"You lucked out Wiley. You get a fairly good grip on your Croma; others have to go through a lot of physical pain in order for their powers to be completed."

"Hmm... that almost makes me feel priviledged. I guess I shouldn't take my position for granted, though I won't be able to use my power very often..."

Wiley thought about shaking hands... but that might have not have been too good of an idea at the moment. Instead, he gave a small salute and went back to thinking, waiting for the kid in the black tee shirt to tell him about Croma. He could always as Kirabo, but again, probably not another good idea. Wiley was tired, so his Familiar had to tired also. Any real answers should be provided by someone else.

Jackpot. 3 people already!John actively let the other person in and looked at the others. "Yeah, this is what you think it is. C'mon in." The room was dark, lit by only one light dangling from the ceiling. It swayed as the shifting air pressures between the outside and this room as well as the shaking of the door in it's hinges. The room was warm, probably due to the exposure of the actual wall of the shelter and the sun-window. The side of the wall facing the door had cabinets across it, littered with boxes and papers from some other purpose. The wall Wily was propped against had a poster of Philidelphia on it, and a small refridgerator to the left of him. The other wall near where Kaylee stood, held naught but a small side table with a book on Croma opened to a suspicious page.

"You want answers on Croma? I'll tell you what I can. Croma is an energy that lives within all of us. You all know that. You also know we can materilize our Croma into different things. You with the Croma pet, you created the animal there, did you not? My theory is that those Shadow Beasts are in fact made of Croma, like that thing. I also theorize these beasts can be beaten with Croma. However, I have yet to test my hypothesis. That's why I lured you here, so that we can test this. Maybe, there is a possibilty that we can find the person responsible for making these things and kill him. That way, we can either avenge the lossed and save the survivors. However, this is only speculation. Discuss with me any qualms or questions you have."

*Kaylee looked down at the bow in her hands and then back at John*

"It makes sense... but there are so many of them and so few of us. How can we survive?"

*She looked at the others, lingering on the fox kit*

"Is that a fox? Cool! Um... I guess we should introduce ourselves. I'm Kaylee."

Name:Leon Ballain

Age: 17

Appearance: Leon is a young man, taking his looks from his father. With his straight black hair reaching to his chin on all sides, and parted over the left side of his face, he is often thought of as being very attractive. He stands at 6' 1" and is very thin. He almost appears to have no muscle mass whatsoever. He is very pale, but he has some complexion. He usually wears clothing that is tight on him, in dark colors and even sometimes random dress-clothes. He has amazing Hazel eyes that seem to change with his attitude/mood.

He walked into a dark hallway. This place was amazingly huge. There would be so much to do here. His name was Leon. A lad capable of amazing things. At least, he thought they were amazing. He had run away from home. Mother and sister lived in the mansion shelter. With all of Sister's boyfriends. The little slut. Leon shook his head dispelling the thought of his sister in a perverted position. He shuddered and walked down the hallway. He heard voices coming from a door, and above the door was posted Chroma...

Wait...Chroma, that seems like the power I control. The fire...It was in a game once. It was their magical energy. I used it to get here from the mansion shelter, destroying as many of the damned shadow beasts as he could. He opened the door, and walked in to see four sitting in the room. He scanned the room, and nervously turned his eyes away as the group began to notice him...

"Uhm, Hi..."

Leon spoke softly and sounded reserved and shy. He never really was confident, others didn't really like him much...At least until they got to know him...

"See Wiley? Proof you're not a freak! You're not alone, there are others here too!"

"I... I guess not? Well, hello...! I think I only caught your name, Kaylee. My name is Wiley and I guess I'm not insane, because you can see my friend here too..."

He still leaned on his wall. It wasn't that he was antisocial, it was just that he had to be as careful as he could be at these times. Too much has happened already for anything more to go wrong. He gave out more salutes to the others across the room. Kirabo padded around until he found his spot between Wiley's feet. Another member soon joined the group. Any more and it'd be a party.

In the dark room, Jake stood, silently. His arm throbbed, for some reason unknown to him. He stared at John from afar. Soon, unwaceringly, but nervously, he walked up to him and saw other people. As he glanced around at the unfamiliar faces, he waved with his left arm, purposefully, so they could see it clearly. He looked at John, his face illuminated by the soft light of the incandescent bulb. "What can you make of this? All I know is that this is what became of my arm. It's cold, and strong, like steel, but I can't find much of a use for it." His eyes thinned. "Apparently, you know something about theis 'croma'. Can you tell me what this is, or how I can use it?" No matter what he did, he, for some unknown reason, felt as though he were being judged by the eyes of the strangers around him.

John nodded firmly at the person stepping in as Jake stepped in closer. He looked down at the arm as he spoke.

"Welcome." He said to the shy newcomer and motioned for him to enter. "For all here, my name is John Mark."

He held the hand of silverish armor in his hands underneath the dangling orb of light. He began studying the Croma wrapped around his arm and releasing small hums of curiosity, shifting around to look at it better.

"Well, in my mediocre opinion, I'd say you have a humongous overload of Croma that can't be completly contained in your arm. First chance we get, I want you to point this away from people, envision releasing a chunk of this out like a bullet. You have so much Croma this arm of yours could function as a gun."

He backed up and sat down on the refridgerator, looking at the group curiously.

"If anyone wants to know where I get my facts, I have 4 or 5 books on the table over there next to the open one. Feel free. Also, if anyone wants to see proof I know what I'm talking about..."

John outstretched his hand. All of the sudden, with a whoosh sound emnating from his hand, a rapier appeared in his hands. It looked real, but with no defining characteristics besides it being a rapier. He had only as well begun to delve into controlling his weapon. In comparision to what the others in the room had, his weapon was nothing more than a sword. He knew in the beginning, he would be the backbone of the group, but as time surpassed, they would quickly surpass him. He only hoped they would still follow him.

"Anyway, we need to start worrying about supplies. I don't think we're going to be ordering from Burger King if we go out there on our own."

"I FEEL you're hunger. Don't deny it..."

"Thats borderline scary my friend. I suppose we should go by your advice John... we need supplies and I'm really... really... really hungry... I'm REALLY hungry..." Wiley said as he slowly slid to the floor, looking off into space. Kirabo pattered around but suddenly stopped with a confused look on his face (as confused as the face of a fox can get) Wiley looked up with ever so slightly sunken eyes. "Does this place have enough for us to take anything out of it? All I saw out there was tha-"
Kirabo interrupted Wiley.

"Maybe you should ask what he means by leaving this place? I certainly want to know."

"That is a good point. You said we were leaving... I agree with the fact that we are special by the sole fact that we can defend ourselves against those shadows, and that each and everyone one of us has some sort of talent... but I didn't know coming into this room meant I was volunteering to go back out into that world... is there some sort of reason to why we should? I really have no objections, as I've lost virtually everything in my posession... maybe should I read one of those books to find out...?"

Wiley's head fell. He should've caught some shut eye outside the door of this room. This new information was a bit too much at the moment for him.

"John...." she whispered under her breath as her face went pale.

*She glanced at them, she seemed to be the oldest person in the room. The one with the metal arm seemed the only one that could possibly be equal or older than her at all. At John's words she glanced over at the books on the table, giving herself a moment to collect herself*

"To save time... could you tell me which one can explain this?"

*She raised her bow for a moment for all to see it, then pointed it at the floor as she pulled back the empty string and a arrow of energy appeared. She held it for a moment before gently unnotching the bow and letting the arrow vanish*

"As for food... I have some trail mix and a bag of airline peanuts if you're that hungy Wiley. Otherwise I... I might have an idea of where to go."

*She was shaking slightly as her nerves kicked into high gear. The Army base... it was only a few miles from here... there had to be rations there, supplies of some kind. If there was nothing to spare here, then surely there had to be something there*

John watched Kaylee intently as she talked. He watched the energy arrow form and disperse, all the while an interested look on his face. He reached down under into the refridgerator and pulled out his hidden stash of food. The refridgerator had been broken for a long time now, and he used it for a seat and a storage box only. He pulled out a bag of potato chips and threw it into Wily's lap.

"Here. I was saving it for a rainy day. Kaylee, your arrow seems to be the kind of thing I asked him to do. Your Croma senses your desire for the arrow and it makes one according to the bow you wield it in."

He smiled and looked at the other two members of the group who haven't introduced themselves.

"Well? I'm more than a little interested to hear your names."

Wiley promptly ate the bag of potato chips, and continued onto Kaylee's trailmix.

"I'll make it up to you somehow, I swear. You're lifesavers. Mmm... Lifesavers..."

"Come on! I don't drain THAT much energy out of you, oinkie-snoinky."

Wiley paid no heed to his Familiar as he slowly walked over and gently picked up one of the five books from where they lay. He opened it up and was quickly immersed in it.

"You're a slow reader."

"Am not..."

"Just gimme it and I'll tell you when to turn. Open it up. Turn, turn turn turn... must you be slow at everything?"

"Well, that food helped. Here. You try turning the page."

"How am I supposed to do that with - GAHHH!!! I didn't give you permission to-"

After grabbing the kit, Wiley used the little bit of energy he gained from the food by turning Kirabo into a small gloved hand. The fox shape had turned the color of the rainbow light and morphed into it while in the light-like stage. Disembodied, no arm, it stopped at the cuff (which was fastened with a button made out of the very same light). On the palm was an eye.

"The Perfect Reader, my friend. I'll change you back when you're done with those books."

Despite its lack of mouth, the Familiar could still communicate with Wiley.

"You just have to think of the weirdest things don't you. You know, when I read this, I'll keep it... logged, in a sort of way. That way, you can refer back to it if you need to. I'm putting it in YOUR memory. Remember; I'm part of you, I'm your Imagination, your Memory, your Heart, your Dreams! I'm all part of that, so what I remember you'll remember."

"Got it...? That should prove useful."

"Right. We're thinkers, not fighters! Now let me get back to these books. It should only take me a little while."

Wiley took a seat near where Kirabo read as the others introduced themselves.

Jake was bewildered. He witnessed the events before his eyes, and looked lost and confused. Finally, he put up his hands, and looked annoyed. "Woah, woah, woah. Time out. My name is Jake Morris, and I don't know who you people are, nor do I care too much to find out. I don't think I wanna go out on some damned fool's idealistic crusade to save humanity; I just wanted to figure out what the shit this thing on my arm even was. Why should I go outside? Why, when we're all safe inside these armored domes?" His clawed, metalica hand was opened, as if he was expecting an answer. He was, and he didn't feel like waiting long for one, either.

*Kaylee looked at Jake, her stormy eyes lacking the usual glint of a smile they seemed like they should have*

"Because we can't last forever in here. The food rations are already low from what I've seen, and the military are out there now trying to fight these things when they can't. Those things don't need to eat, nor sleep. They'll just keep fighting until our toops are worn out. Then the people will be in here, starved and weak... easy kills once the Shadows breech the domes. We might be able to save ourselves, but everyone else here will die.

I just arrived here, alone, but I'm sure at least one of you are here with your families. Not sure about you Jake. Do you want to lose them like that?"

He stared at her, as she made her obvious remark. Jake knew this to be true. he was just in denial. It's the survival of the fittest. *Guess I better start growing up about this shit.* His gaze looked back at John. His mouth was dry, and he swallowed a gulp of nothing. "Alright, fine. I'll do it. But... I don't know if I should just abandon my life here so quickly. I'm afraid of what's out there." He tightened his magical fist, and envisioned himself shooting one of those beasts. All of a sudden, his body shook, and an explosion came from his hand. He flinched, and looked away. When he opened his eyes, his hand was enshrouded with snoke, and looked like the barrel of some sort of futuristic gun, though he still felt like he had a hand, for some reason. The was a sizable hole in the ground. "Wh-what was that!? Was that the bullet thing you were telling me about!?"

John jumped when Jake released the blast, immediate adrenaline and anger building up in him. He stood up quickly and looked at Jake in the eye.

"Yes. While we can theoretically survive in here forever, do you want to? Can you enjoy life knowing we have those beasts out there? Knowing we're caged like birds?!...I have a family here and they aren't going to live like that. Neither are we...Anyway, I have keys here to the secret basement. It's the only available exit. However, we'd need someone to open and shut the door. I have a vehicle we can use, it's an old converted pick-up truck. We can sleep in there when we need to...But, we need some starting supplies for when we get out there. I have enough gas to last us for about...6 weeks of non-stop driving. Trust me, that's quite a bit."

He looked over at the others. His face was abundant with signs of his overworking mind. He had obviosuly taken extreme thought into this.

"We need food for our trip. Some of us are going to have to steal some food, enough for 3 weeks. Then we can re-stock at where Kaylee's talking about. I'd suggest we get Wiley and Kaylee to steal that much. Jake, Nameless Monsieur, and I will begin loading up the car for our trip...and helping me install the armor plates I scavenged."
