OOC-- Important! An affinity chart was placed in the discussion thread for this RP, and It would be best to check it out, this helps us and you guys all know what's up with the ways the characters should be reating to each other. And though all affinities are bound to change, there is a good chance they will always affect the ways characters interact with other characters.

Joan forced a smile, her past was of no concern. And should remain relatively hidden. But she decided against ignoring this kind man, and began to think for a moment on how and why she worked for the pope. What kept her held here, and why she did fight. It seemed to be a question unanswered to even herself. The best resolution she could muster was somewhat feeble and she knew it.

"Though I know not why I first joined into this Crusade. I know now that I am held here by a strange will to finish what I started. Besides, the battle does seem to be noble enough."

Joan looked away, she did not want to meet eyes with Dveris, she could tell his motives were almost impure, she could not put her finger on it, but she did not like being questioned. Her past was a touchy subject, and her sanity seemed to be waning since the years past, spiraling downwards, until one definitive moment when she would surely conquer the beast inside her, or collapse under it's will. The Serpant was in view and appeared to be speaking with Jiang. Though she could not tolerate either of them Joan played off as if she was elegantly pleasant.

"Good day, the speech today bore grand news, so what is it that you have called me for Serpant."

Joan's eyes glanced between the two of them, Dismissing Jiang with a mere glance and forcing herself to look happy in the face of the Serpant troubled her slightly. A light sigh left her lips after she finished speaking, and she could hear the footsteps of Guy pacing back and forth behind her and Dveris. He had followed close behind, and seemed rather impatient at waiting.

The Serpant's wide brimmed hat hid his eyes and his unwavering, unemotional mouth. He spoke curtly, but strongly.

"Joan. Good of you to come. The Father has requested wthat we be dispatched on a mssion together. Whatever reason he wishes to send an insane fool like you, I will never know. But I do not distrust his judgement. Come."

He motioned for her to follow him, as he exited the parlor, and went back to the Pope's Chamber. "Holy Father, what is this mission that you request of us?" he asked, as he knelt down on one knee.

Guy grew angry, nigh rivid, when the Serpant had insulted Joan. He had spent years with her, as he was basically her partner. He walked up past the Serphant with calm and slapped him across the back of the head swiftly but hardly, knocking off the man's wide brim hat.

"Yes, Your Holiness. I look forward to your instructions."

He bowed to the Pope, and then turned to look back at the Serpant, giving him a look that helped the fool understand if he spoke ill of Joan again, more than his hat would be coming off. He then smiled as he returned his gaze to Joan and Dveris.

Joan flinched lightly at the comment about her, she wanted to react but she knew it was improper. In the Pope's chamber the others bowed and she followed elegantly with a curtsey. Guy defended her at this time, and she stared at the Serpant to find if he would react to this blatant attack on his honor. It was always valiant when Guy defended her, though it didn't happen often, she had great respect for Guy because of this. She examined the Pope. What is your mission father, was all that on her mind.

The Pope sneered at this display of disrespect, and before The Serpant had a chance to react he merely began speaking.

"Well, children of God, you know that this crusade is very important to us, and you are some of my most trusted warriors and those who are not highly trusted by me are highly trusted by the King. So in this way, I need some of you to lead my forces. Particularly Guy and Dveris. So, you must work together. Of course, we still have Jiang and Joan to take care of, so, I assign Joan to work under Guy, and Jiang to work under Dveris. You both must listen to them, but you are directly below rank with them. So those of you who are leading the armies, should treat them with respect."

The Pope turned in his chair. He seemed to have completely forgotten about the Serpant.

"As for you my dear boy, You will be serving directly under me. And will lead my troops when I am not actively partaking in the battle, as well as be my bodyguard of sorts."

The Pope's eyes gleamed as he spoke to the Serpant, he was his shining star, and his favorite soldier. The Serpant followed without question and killed on the Pope's whim. As well as served as an advisor to him very often. Some claim this war was at the advice of the Serpant, and not the Pope.

"Well, unless there are any questions you are all dismissed."

OOC--After this I'd like for there to be a bit of a time shift to move things along, so in your next couple of posts please try to speed things along, not too much character interaction and we'll speed up two weeks to a point. I'll summarise what happened during those two weeks and the same will be kindly requested of you. I.e. what your character took on during the time.

Another side note, A post on PVP will be placed in the discussion thread after I post this, so please do read up on it.

Joan did not seem to pleased at the favoritism of the Serpant, but she was at least serving with someone she liked and considered a very good friend. Her true feelings for him hid just under the surface of insanity that was often prevalant in her life. The thought of spending more time with Guy seemed to please her very much, as her childish side began peeking out. Her eyes grew wide and pleasant(anime style) and she put her hair up into pigtails, her bottom-of-chin length hair cutely pricked out of the bands on either side of her head. It's color was a deep black, and her bangs laid still framing her face. (I'll post pictures of her faces eventually) Looking back and forth, she seemed to grow in excitement and almost started bouncing in place.

::Jiang stood with arms cross'd and one leg drapped on a pillar behind the others, his deep blue eyes were closed and his head lay rested upon his chest as if he was sleeping. But crudely enough, he remarked at working under Dveris::

HA, I don't need anyone, I will kill them all alone.

::Jiang sneered as he truned his back to the others and began to walk away, stopping slightly to bow before the pope as he left, then turning again saying a few words under his breath, his eyes set over his shoulder on Dveris::

Just stay out of my way Child.

::Jiang then chuckled as he left the Pope's Chamber. He wandered down the coridoor, drawing his sword while walking and glanceing at it wit deep thoughtful eyes, thinking the last thoughts that his father left him before laying the sword in his hands, and dieing::

Father.........

::Jiang disapeared into the darkness that resided in the coridoor, leading out to the barraks::

Guy's disrespect towards Serpant did not affect him until the Pope was finished.

"Yes, your holiness."

As he rose, he turned, and his eyes met Guys, as he picked up his hat and placed it back atop his head. His emotionless mouth frowned, almost in hatred, and he narrowed his eyes to him.

"You, of all people, know too well my power. I can break you, worm. Do not threaten my authority, or the snake will strike, and not even the grace of the Almighty can save you."

He walked past him, and left for the soldiers barracks, and spoke to a guard near the entrance of the building. "Ready a carriage to take me to the Training Grounds."

Dveris answered Jiang. "I will be getting in your way. You will be fighting with the footmen, I believe that this should be mot convienent for you. I myself will be with the cavalry in my army. You may command yours how you will, but you will obey me."

Dveris nodded a thanks towards the pope, then turned towards the Serpant. "Don't you think that we have few enough soldiers without you two killing each other?" he asked, "Or perhaps you two should challenge eachother to a duel, that way then I wouldn't have to get involved and stop you both. As for you Serpant, morale is important. If a time comes when Guy is assigned to help you, do you seriously think he will?"

He looked towards Guy, "And as for you, what you did was admirable, but it is better for you both that you ignore him. Unless you wish to risk what you have?"

He turned, and walked away. He would see his army, promoting morale would be his first objective. He quickly called another coach to take him.

Freya shrugged and stretched. She yawned as she awaited her assignment. Her true assignment was given to her by Frigga and Odin themselves.

"It doesn't matter what side their on," Frigga said hugging onto Odin's neck. "Their souls go to Val Halla and the fight for us."

"But what if their goals stay with them EVEN AFTER death?" Freya reacted. "It's happened once before and we had to destroy that soldier who almost killed you Sister."

"A good point," Frigga announced. "It will not happen again."

Freya growled. "I'm not gathering souls, we have enough warriors."

"We do not have enough warriors for the fight against evil," Frigga said with a little bit of rage. "My dear Odin has seen the evil that we will fight in the final battle."

Odin looked forward and stood up. He took out a pair of silver rods with writing on them. "Freya take these with you, use them anytime you feel the need to find something."

Freya nodded. She began to walk away.

"Just because you wish to not fight in Ragnorok doesn't mean that I don't. Who here is the little sheep. It's you Freya," Frigga said loudly.

Freya gripped her sister's spear. I should've just killed you on the spot for saying that, but atleast I got control over my mouth and body around you, Sister, she thought. It was because of that catholic nut that YOU brought to Val Halla you got hurt, Sister.

The Pope sneered at the disrespect he was recieving and turned and walked out of the room. He placed The Hand of God upon his finger and tossed those who were there a golden cross.(Serpant should already have one, and I'm still counting Dveris as being in the room)

"War these, they have been blessed so that my magicks will not accidentally destroy you all. Jiang however has shown enough disrespect and his death would be considered a casualty. Accidents do happen."

The Pope's face was not pleasant by any stretch, but he surely seemed happy to think of the joy the death of Jiang would bring him.

"Leave me."

Joan was very upset with the reaction of the Serpant. She huffed loudly as he passed her, and she stared at his back. Taking the cross and placing it in position of the old one on her chocker, a thought popped into her mind, one that was not very pleasant. I wonder...What would his intestine look like nailed to a wall...? Her dark moment seemed to pass over her as she hopped over to Guy.

"Don't let that big meanie get you down Guy! You're my friend and no one else matters!"

Joan smiled and left the Pope's chambers waiting for Guy in the lobby. But deciding to follow a whim, she hailed a carriage and trotted to the rooom she was designated at the 'Twilight Showers' Inn. As she entered her room one thing was fairly certain, she had very many weapons. Two swords rested on her bed, a staff in the corner, a dagger on the nearby table, as well as a thin silver rapier. She eyed the weapons and skipped gleefully over to her bed, she took the swords and placed them beside the bed, and decided to get changed into her night clothes. She pulled the thin white sundress off and pplaced on a thin white tunic. She fixed the string around her waist and layed down on her bed. A song danced through her mind as she somberly set to sleep. Through the night, she thought about the pending war, and she realized that she would need her uniformed armor, she decided to put an order in for it first thing tomorrow. It was the end of the peace, and a beginning of the war.

Dveris frowned. Such violence from...the pope? He would let it go. Apparently he was the only one here who went to war out of justice and will for right, rather than simply for violence.

"So be it." he said.

Half an hour later, he arrived where his army's barracks were placed. He observed that there were a large number of cavalry, archers, and footmen. Excellent, the perfect army for fighting against magic. All he lacked were seige weapons. He planned on spending the rest of the day until the battles getting to know the troops, improving their morale. Hopefully he could get Jiang to do the same.

::Jiang stood ontop of the holds, his arms crossed and his eyes focused on Dveris. He spoke in a firm voice across to all of the soldiers standing before him::

This fight will be one of the most glorious things in our history, we as Humans deserve to walk this earth because we are the original being. We are stronger, NOW LETS SHOW THEM OUR MIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

::Jiang drew his sword and raised his hand high into the air, the look on his face was one to be feared, it was the face of a warrior who had seen more then his fair share of batles. He watched as the soldiers followed his chant, and raised their weapons and hands high into the air, cheering as loud as they could. Jiang jumpped off of the rooftop and landed standing next to Dveris, his back faceing his::

Dveris, even though we might do things differently, in this war as you said we are comrads. Should you need help on the batle field, my sword is ready.

::Jiang walked forward a few steps and turned around, sitting down near the trunk of a great tree, leaning his back against it throwing his hands behind his neck and closeing his eyes::

Kael stood infront of his horse, and smoothed out the mane. He didn't like the idea of the desert... Growing up in the forest, that's all he knew. Sure it would be diffrent, but the idea of being out in the open made him uneasy.

He turned his head slightly as Tara came into the stalls, noticing the apperence. He moved back to the horse, and unhooked the harness. He wouldn't ride the horse with such a thing attached. It just bothered him. Being a Ranger, he knew how to handle a horse just fine.

Dveris allowed himself a small smile, maybe there was hope for Leon after all. He answered, "I am glad yu say so, I may need to take advantage of your sword many times. And yes, we are comrads, I am glad to have you as a warrior on my side."

He looked at the troops. "But we should also remember, this is a holy war, this is for what is right, this is more than just to show our power. I hope that you remember this, and still fight in what is right. I understand that violence is never given willingly, and thatyou would not take these risks were it not what you believe is right. Thank you, and I'll be buying any drinks for you tonight from my own personal funds."

He smiled, nodded, an walked in to merge with the troops. He gave a small gesture towards Jiang, indicaing him to do that same. Speches had their good place, but joining in with the troops, exposing yourself to what they were exposed to, that was even better.

Dveris, I will lead the head of the troops, Most of these men will die on that day. They will fight at their peek if I lead them and show them there is nothing to fear.

Dveris shook his head, "I apologize Jiang, but our tactics are not going to involve a standard charge. I've observed these troops, and we have a lot of spearmen. We can decrease the casulties by making the enemy charge at us, or, when we have a large army, we will be using a pincer formation. However, like said before, I will want you to lead the footmen. I'll take the cavalry, and I'll make the highest ranking soldier here handle the archers."

OOC:TIME SHIFT POST.

Allard and the others entered the stable quickly and got on their steed's. Allard's horse was named Salem, a majestic white horse that seemed to gleam with an unholy radiance. He spoke in his native language to it for a moment before getting on. He need not kick the horse to make it go faster, or in fact hurt it at all. The horse and he had a bond that enabled him to be partners with it, and thus the horse would risk it's life to save him.

"Let us march, we have only a few weeks to get to Fort Brenethor and fortify it before the crusaders come."

They left through the stable doors, arriving about a crowd of 5,000 able soldiers for their cause. Allard smiled and waved at them, pointing at the path to Fort Brenethor. His generals understood the message and began moving the troops out, each ready to exact justice on the Crusaders. The time for oppression was over.

Guy laughed as the others left, leaving only he and the Pope alone. Guy turned to the Pope as he sat down in his throne, overlooking the balcony.

"Your Holiness, I detected you disfavor our generals." Guy said as he reached for a mysterious coffin-like object propped up against the marble wall.

"Yes, some show disloyalty to the Church. But they are a matter to be dealt with later. Please, signal to Dveris, Jiang and the others. " The Pope said, rubbing his forehead.

"Well, my leige, I will do as you command." From the hollowed box came a instricately designed sitar apparently made of a white wood and gold linings. The head was in the shape of a lily, or in Guy's native tongue a "fluer-de-lis". It was absolutely stunning to the eyes, a true masterpiece of design and sound. Underneath the mouth of the sitar was an inlet in the shape of a ruby. If Guy were to place the ruby in there, this beautiful instrument would become a beautiful instrument of war. You see, the sitar Frieden was one of the deadliest weapons in the world. And only a master of the sitar such as Guy could use it.

"I will see you when we march, my leige."

Freya jumped on her horse. She felt the need to stay near Allard so she made her horse run to the front. "Allard," she poked at him to see if he would snap back. Freya felt a little familiar with this person. "Just for you to know I'm after two things." She gave a small smirk. "You, and your soul." Freya thought he might come back with something funnier or maybe shiver.

"Well, you know, that's funny. Most women are after my body, not my soul."

He laughed as the men began sifting into marching formation. He felt a tad uneasy. Being stuck in the palace all the time gave him little time for small talk. This long march basically left him with nothing but small talk. He didn't want to present himself as an idiot.
