So, I spent most all of yesterday and the day before it in the sun...

Friday was our first soccer game for the Bowman Cup. The Bowman Cup is the inter-section competition on base here, each section plays the others in soccer, softball, 5k, ping-pong (it's a thing on this base, long story) and a few others.

So. Soccer, we won, mauled them most of the game. 3 to 1 as final score.

And then on Saturday, spent all day at the beach and the evening at my buddy's friend's place.

So I've been keeping busy, trying to keep my head up and all that good stuff. Trying to keep going on and all (in reference to my last thread)

But. Unfortunate side effect is, I am really badly sunburned. First time in my life in fact. Back home, I could spend 8-10 hours in the sun with no shirt on and still not turn red. Last month and the months before, I've spent all day at the beach here in Charleston and surrounding areas, and didn't get burned.

But yesterday was different. I even put on sunscreen for the first time down here too, but alas, I'm completely toasty. Rather new experience for me.

SO, does anyone have any good suggestions on how to take care of it, beyond just giving it time to heal for the next week?

Nothing you can do really Ryan, just put aloe gel on it, or Solarcane

And just wait for the skin to flake/peel off

Once its sunburnt only thing left is for it to flake off.

Aloe Vera.

I'm the pasty-est person ever in Southern California.

The worst is the first and second day, after that, it's smooth sailing.

Have your friends Slap you where it hurts. Thats what my dad does me when I get sunburnt...

On a brighter note, Cocunut Oil, its good for tatoos and sunburns, and will seriously help you in your problem...

Wait a few days, youll get an awesome tan when your skin heals up...

Uhmm..try not to move around in your sleep lol. They say (I'm not sure how true it is) that if you run hot water on the burned areas (HURTS LIKE A B*TCH) that it takes the soreness out. Not sure how true that is, but if you're man enough to try it, go ahead.

Aloe Vera helps a lot. Noxima helps take out the heat of a fresh sunburn as well. Welcome to the world of sunburn, sucks don't it?

Well, I never intend to sunburn ever again

But for the most part, I've peeled a bit, and it's mostly gone now, so I'm all good. But the first few days sucked. My shoulders and collar hurt like hell But yeah. It's over now And off to paintball tomorrow, so I'll take precautions not to burn tomorrow Thanks for the advice everyone
