One year away from the big, scary 3-O.

29... very weird. Was joking with my mom about how I forget my age off and on thesedays, but probably won't next year, and then maybe 35, then 40, etc, The milestones are the standouts now haha.

Monday is my normal day off (working Tue-Sat), but I took off tomorrow too. Just chilling at home and taking it easy. Went to my grandma's on Sunday with the family for some good food and fun. This coming Saturday I'm getting together with some friends at an arcade bar that we hit up sometimes, should be awesome. I haven't really been drinking much at all this year, but I plan to let loose Saturday. Guess I should be careful though since my tolerance might be low now from not drinking in a bit, lol.

But that makes it better. Why drink $40 worth of drinks to finally start to feel a buzz you get one off the first?

I don't let loose much these days, but it feels great when I do. Of course, NEVER do it out of sadness. I did that once (the last day at my old center, you know, before I ended up coming back a little more than a month later.) While I was still happy buzzing I felt like shit about it, and for some people it magnifies the emotions. You drink while you're depressed, you're even lower, etc.

Also. Definitely cherish your grandmother while you've got her.

I mean, I'm only 31, which I also tend to forget.

Grandma was a little flustered though and is moving soon, getting out of her big house since my grandpa passed away several years ago by this point. That threw her into a manic episode and there are hints that another could be coming. Not fun...

The focus of the dinner prayer was also on telling God to provide her more energy again. She talked more about that than me. lol... not sure she realizes she's late 70's and we never require her to make huge feasts when we go over. She's got issues but who doesn't haha, still love her.

I've had a few emotional nights in the past from drinks haha. But yeah that was a rare case. I'm a fun drunk that just wants to hug everyone and have a good time.

It's weird noticing that I'm kind of the glue and in the middle of some circle of friends. Like a handful of people I'm inviting to my party, I wonder if they'd ever see each other if it weren't for me. No idea why but that's been on my mind lately. Maybe because I'm excited to get my own place next year without a roommate and hope to make some new friends in time. My friends are getting pretty spread out but there's nothing to really blame, life is just taking people into different paths.

Glad to hear your birthday was a good one. Enjoy the last year of your 20s... it just feels weird afterwards.

Still a bit hungover from Saturday night... didn't drink much at all this year but made up for it and then some at this party for my birthday. We hit up an arcade bar here that's been doing really well for about two years now. Had BIG Jenga and an N64 on a projector, both are usually hogged but we got on those so that was fun. Their Killer Instinct cabinet seems to be dying, it was all red colors with lines going down the screen, very sad to see. I also played Michael Jackson's Moonwalker and never realized it was some awful beat em' up, oh man it was bad. Hit up Street Fighter 2 and some others. Had a blast, apparently kissed my friends during some discussion on politics, can't remember when and how one of my friends left for the night, then we had some insanely good pizza that made me order Sarpinos yesterday for more since I was too out of it to cook.

No regrets.

Just a warning on that... as you get older (particularly once you hit 30), the more hangovers feel like you're about to have a stroke.

Halloween last year, I was at a friend's party and polished off a whole bottle of mint milkshake rum. I didn't get a buzz off it at all, figured I was fine, went to bed. THE NEXT DAY, I was gifted with a two-day hangover. Didn't matter what I ate, I just felt like absolute shit.

Not going to lie, think I had a two day hangover myself. I've had way worse, but it was like this mild constant "ehh" feeling Sunday and Monday. Just didn't have energy and such. Stomach wasn't bothering me much though.

I kind of feel like I'll stop drinking once I hit 30 or maybe just do it once a year from here on. lol, I've never had an ultra bad experience, and I love to get a little goofy and let loose, but I'm just not seeing the necessity for it and I guess unlike others I never got too into it beyond social drinking. I've never really ever had any bottles or beers at home for myself. And like one of my arguments against cigarettes, I'd rather pool that money into videogames! So since I'm getting older, social "partying" becomes less and less, etc... yeah. I just don't really foresee the need for it that much now.
