Overwatch has been added to my rotation. I play Ana, so I can get away with shooting my teammates in the ass.

I've been enjoying the flexibility, being able ot actually contribute damage while also healing. The sleep dart is great for pissing off Reinharts too.

I just got a PS4.

Any recommendations? I've got Fallout 4, Last of Us, and Arkham Knight.

I've been playing Arkham a lot the last couple weeks, it's different, and I feel like the batmobile is a bit odd, but I'm enjoying it a lot.

Picked up Tony Hawk's Underground again, via PCSX2. I forgot how good some of the music was, and now Like the Angel is stuck in my head again...

I did not forget how much of an utter prick Sparrow was. But replaying it now, I feel like I know people like him.

FINALLY playing the Witcher 3.

Yes, it's quite good. Even when I'm getting a bit tired of open world games, it's... officially hooked me in.

Titanfall 2 is really good. Most fun I'm having with an FPS online since Bad Company 2.

Also picked up Battlefield 1.

Skyrim Remastered, FFVII, Civilization VI, and DA:I at various times...

All of which are probably going to be ignored once Horizon: Zero Dawn comes out... and then Mass Effect Andromeda.

Horizon looks so epic. I'm weary about Mass Effect for some reason, it will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Set a goal for myself - to finish every main-line Final Fantasy. Probably.

So far:

Final Fantasy 1 (Mod of Balance version)
Final Fantasy 2 (as above)
Final Fantasy 3 (PC port of mobile port of PSP port of DS remake)

I'm also throwing in some other JRPGs as I go to alleviate the sameyness; as a result, Lufia 2 is next on my list, and I'll probably begin playing on Tuesday.

Mass Effect Andromeda is on my wishlist too, but after ME3... I just want it for the co-op really.

I'm... not really a fan of the remake of FF3 anymore. It starts strong, but eventually bosses just have a bunch of health and no real threat. Once you get past Garuda, it's pretty much in the bag.

There's two threats after that - one is the triple Chimera Mage encounter in the Temple of Time (I think) - if they ambush you, you're dead. But that's not good difficulty, that's just getting fucked by RNG. There's also a one-after-another boss later on - the one before Eureka and Syrcus, don't want to spoil - that actually beat me, but if you don't lose a man in the first fight you're safe in the second.

The reason I hold this against the remake is that often the only change it made was adding health, especially for the World of Darkness bosses.

Luckily, I think when you get to FF4 and on, I'd say the series is honestly varied enough to consistently be interesting and different. But maybe I'm a fanboy.

I have beaten FF1-10, 13, 13-2, and 15.

FF1 - PSX, GBA, and PSP versions. I can't really stomach the chunky original.
FF2 - PSP version, more refined and balanced than the GBA version
FF3 - NES, yeah I emulated this one and it was extremely hardcore. Felt like a boss beating it.
FF4 - One of my favorites, I have beaten the hard type PSX version, SNES, GBA, and PSP remake
FF5 - GBA version, way better translation than the crappy PSX Anthology version
FF6 - SNES and PSX Anthology

I really enjoyed FF12 but never beat it.

Couldn't stomach much of Lightening Returns.

I don't like the look of the 3D remakes for 3-4 so I haven't bothered with those.

My favorites are FF4-FF7.

Before this run, I'd already beaten 1, 4, 5 (many times), and the Tactics series.

The remaining schedule:

Lufia 2
FF4 PSP. The DS artstyle just doesn't work as well IMO.
Chrono Trigger SNES. I'm emulating these on my TV, so SNES works better than DS, even if I do like the revised translation. (the new content is ass though)
FF5 GBA or SNES. Not sure which.
Earthbound
FF6 Brave New World
Legend of Dragoon
FF7 New Threat
Lunar: Silver Star Story
FF8 PC
Lunar 2: Eternal Blue
FF9 PC
FF10 PC
FF12 The Zodiac Age (when released)
FF13

The After Years is being skipped because of a lot of dumb. It's not worth it regardless of how much better Edward and Edge are in this version.

I haven't ruled out 10-2, and will judge the 13 Trilogy when I get to it. I have 13-2 and 13-3 from bundles already so...

Depending on how I feel after this, the Tactics series is going ot be added to the end.

Yeah I couldn't get into The After Years myself. All the separate stories and stuff was pretty boring and disjointed.

Just know that the jokes about FF13's 20-30 hour tutorial is real. But the combat is pretty awesome to me when you finally have access to everything. 13-2 fixes it by... letting you do whatever you want with it from the start, who would have thought... lol.

And there's Lufia 2 done, just shy of 20 hours, no fast forward outside of the credits sequence.

Interestingly, the Pearl Armor is actually weaker than the highest store-bought armor.

Not that it matters. The final bosses go down pretty easy. I was relieved to not have a marathon dungeon after the Ancients' Maze/Syrcus Tower/World of Darkness in FF3. And I know it'll continue; absurdly long final dungeons are a thing for the Final Fantasy series...

Wow, only 20 hours for Lufia 2? I never beat it, but it was pretty cool.

Haha dude, no worries about the later Final Fantasies. Yeah, they have some long final dungeons... but FF3 was absolutely insane. I emulated it (obviously) and so I could keep track of the time better, I'm pretty positive it took me a solid 10 hours to beat those final dungeon(s) alone. It was so hilarious, there was a dungeon to get to another dungeon to get to the final dungeon which was made up of 3-4 different sections each the size of a separate stand alone dungeon. Insanity.

Felt like a boss beating the game after all that.

Lufia 2 was interesting. There were only two times that I stopped to do any grinding at all, and that was mostly when I came up short on cash.

The difficulty was the puzzles rather than random encounter dickery. Though there *was* some of that with the Assassin/Ninja enemies...

Of course, if I went for the Ancient Cave or did the needed grinding to beat Gades at the first encounter it'd take a lot longer.

FF3 probably would've taken me longer for the final sequence, but for the real final run (as opposed to the loot-and-leave run), Luneth was a job 99 Thief, Refia was a job 70+ Geomancer, and Ingus was a Dark Knight. Basically everything died within a round. It wasn't until the World of Darkness that enemies started surviving long enough to get one attack off - crits made Luneth hit for over 10k in one shot and I still don't know what Refia's Shadowflares were doing when they showed up.

Hell, the Cloud of Darkness barely managed to force me to break out Curaja, and even that was only when Particle Beam started - Curaga was still enough before the All Particle Beam All The Time routine kicked in.

FF4 might begin tomorrow after my dentist appointment, or Friday. Haven't figured out exactly when I'll do that - I don't think I can finish it in a week, and Breath of the Wild is coming...

Overkill! haha, did you go for the Ninja classes? Or whatever secret class it was at the bottom level. I got those and it was mostly a cake walk from there.

Glad you're doing PSP for FF4. I don't like the 3D look of DS FF3 and FF4. The PSP version is awesome though, but rather easy. Unfortunately it had the ATB bug that plagued the GBA version too. Ah well. You should check out the PSX Chronicles hard type version sometime too.

I thought the art style was really cool and still pretty classy, wish FF3 and FF5 would have gotten that PSP remake treatment too.
