I hate to say, "Don't count your chickens ... ," but it's best not to get excited yet. It still needs to go through several steps (including the Senate and the President) and then a long grace period before it's enacted I imagine.

I remember when I was interning at a psych ward in '02, there was talk of trying to raise the minimum wage from $6.50 to $11. Apparently the first order of business costume-wise, according to her mother, is making an ewok costume for her for when we go to conventions. I personally want to make her a little Yoda costume (like this one) and get a baby carrier for your back so it looks like Yoda being carried around by Luke in Empire. Oh we have such plans for her. Sorry to talk so much, but I get really excited talking about Jayne. Oh, and they've taken to calling her Jaynie, but I still (out of respect for the man) call her Jayne. You know, the sad part is that I actually saw that episode. I constantly watch PBS and tend to pay attention to shows like "Arthur" and "Postcards from Buster."

It was an odd birthday. Went to see my dad in the hospital and came out a nervous wreck, but I still got Greek food and a random road trip out of it.

He's fine, but we're going to have nurses coming to the house a few times a week to change the bandages and put this wound sucking machine on his back to collect the drainage and get rid of the bacteria. Sorry to bring things down a bit. My mom and I have both been on edge for the last week, but we're coping. He isn't dying and that's what counts. But anyway, Zoso and I went on a random road trip up to the mountains because, on a whim, after going to a museum I said I wanted to see snow. So we decided to drive 'til we saw any and drove up to Mount Wilson. Got out of the car to take some pictures, scream, "Fuck, it's cold!!" and get back in the car and head home. When my dad gets out, we'll celebrate some more.
