Oddly enough it's not the people who did Disaster movie, Meet the Spartans, and Superhero Movie.

No.. it's the people who did Little Man and White Chicks...

...which could be worse.

EDIT: Here's the IMDb profile for it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1153706/

I must say it's quite a speech. And this is the twenty-third place I've seen this posted.

Seriously, for the last two days my LJ f-list was has had it posted on a loop. I don't think there are many places I could spread it too.

Good grief, L.A.'s practically ready to riot again. Especially against some of the local eateries.

El Coyote's manager apparently gave $100 to the YES campaign, they had a press conference today to explain that their opinions are not hers and that people should come back to eat there again. Here's a play-by-play of it: http://laist.com/2008/11/12/el_coyote_restaurant_prop_8_lunch_h.php#more

Not Another Teen Movie was actually pretty good. It has a cohesive and comprehensible storyline and successfully fused together and lampooned many teen flicks of the '80s and '90s.

But that's about where I draw the line.

I tried watching Date Movie and ended up turning it off about 20 minutes in. I NEVER turn off a movie. I usually try to bear with it to the end to at least see if there's anything watchable.

Epic Movie I saw all the way to the end. I wanted to kill something over how I'd just wasted 2 hours on one HUGE pile of shit film.

A little hint moviemakers: you can only use the same old Pimp My Ride/Cribs/generic MTV show gags so many times. Enough with the You Got Served nonsense. And furthermore if you keep having to reduce to people eating excrement or men having their testes harmed in some way or putting in a Paris Hilton impersonator, you're scraping the very bottom of the barrel, my friends, and eroding all the way to the other side. Was this barrel kept atop a steaming pile of manure, perchance?

Good grief.

I figured it was upside-down, but since I don't have a 360 I wasn't sure it was sitting the right way or not.

More often than not. Shortly after 9/11 I had trouble sleeping because I could hear planes flying low over my house and it gave me chills. It's not a constant worry these days, though.

Well, more Orange County.

I'm currently at my school, Cal State Fullerton, and I'm about 2 miles south of a major wildfire. There are mini-mountains of ash on less-tread parts of campus and the air is smoky, occasionally snowing dandruff-like particles of ash from the flames.

Here in Orange County ("the O.C." for those of you TV-watchers), we face the Santa Ana Winds--unforgiving zephyrs of hellish air (feels like you're walking into a huge blow dryer on high heat.

For the better part of this weekend, it was difficult to breathe easy standing outside of my house. We're surrounded and getting the smoke from north, south, and east of us. The Pacific lies to the west.

The moon shone red and deep amber through the layers of smoke the last couple nights.

Taken standing on my roof a couple nights ago.

For the most part, major cities are safe, and no one that I know personally has lost their home, pets, or lives.

So this shouldn't offend you:

My resume cannot be found online anywhere. And at the moment I really don't have a need to put it up.

I found a page with a few maps of the current fires: http://searchengineland.com/maps-of-fires-in-southern-california-november-2008-edition-15489.php

The one I mention being two miles south of is the Brea/Yorba Linda fire (fifth map down). My school is to the left of the 57 freeway. It was kind of trippy going to class with about half the people wearing surgical masks.

From what I've heard the winds have calmed down and the air quality should be better by now. It's looking pretty nice here in Cerritos, where we can finally see the blue sky again.

Seriously though, you know how in movies (like Independence Day) they'll show the sky with rolling sheet of orange, brown, and gray smoke (maybe with the added light of fires in the sky)? Short of the random burst of flame in the sky, it kinda looked like this most of the time this weekend:

Several people were quoted as saying it was Armageddon (headlines Saturday actually insisted it was "the End of the World" in California), the Governator included (however with his quote it seems to have changed to "like Armageddon").

Thankfully no major wildfires come close to my home in Cerritos, but we were catching the smoke and ash from all of the fires on all sides of us.

Admittedly it looks cool, but it comes with some rather unsavory air. At first I thought it smelled nice, like being downwind of a bonfire, but after a while it becomes more and more difficult to take in and you eventually have to go inside and shutter all the windows as Elara mentions.

Sunday night was a bit better for me, but I think it's because I work at the beach so the onshore breeze helped a lot.

Yeah, if you were further inland like I am it's worse. The coastal cities are cooler and have better air flow. Fullerton's even worse than Cerritos when it comes to getting cooler breezes. It's also much more humid in the summer. (Good grief, am I glad that Anime Expo's held in L.A. now and not hot-and-humid-as-hell Anaheim).

Then again, like I mentioned, we get the "murder wind" known as the Santa Anas. I never really knew what people were talking about regarding them (like in Cerritos, the Santa Anas were never really intense) until I started spending a lot of time in Orange County. I'm really not kidding when I say you could go out into the heat and bear with it... but then these crazy strong winds will kick up. And you start to feel like you're walking into a dragon's yawn.

It starts to make sense why O.C. people flock to the beaches all the time. It's where you can escape them.

***** To clarify, Cerritos is in Los Angeles County, as is Long Beach. A lot of people joke that L.A. County and the O.C. (by the way, Orange County natives HATE being called "the O.C." as many of them abhor being tied in with the FOX program by the same name) are rivals, which they often are. It's hard to describe but there are different mindsets. L.A. tends to be liberal, and the O.C. tends to be conservative. L.A. is reflected on as being generally poorer and more of one big metropolis, while the O.C. is "new money" (lots of millionaires who recently became so), beach-obsessed, smaller towns, and to be honest, rather flippant (at least the younger folks).

L.A. is considered more culturally-diverse (and often believed to be harboring more illegal immigrants), while the O.C. is heavily-Caucasian and Asian (despite their supposedly having a higher population of Latinos that they sometimes prefer you don't talk about).

Anyway, two different counties, two different ways of thinking, and two very prominent stereotypes.

Message to remaining writers (and Bryan Fuller if he indeed returns from Pushing Daisies):

KILL CLAIRE.

Stop eluding to Nathan either getting killed off or being used as a tool to manipulate the public. What is it with you people not developing some of the characters' plots and storylines past the basic pattern of first season? Your fanbase isn't comprised of morons who just want to see the same thing over and over again.

Furthermore, STOP writing people out. We start out with like 20 people and everything always boils down to Peter and Claire, with dabs of Nathan, Matt, Hiro, and Sylar, and THEN the rest of the friggin' cast.

You better not be teasing with next week's previews. Claire. I want her dead. Got that?

And agreed on Elle and Sylar. Surprisingly hot. Matt/Daphne is just annoying.

I wondered that myself.

I mean, last season Isaac's storyline supposedly had Isaac painting a whole bunch of shit before he died which Bennet and Mohinder were using to figure out the future.

I guess they're trying to claim that Issac put out a certain number of storylines that he submitted to his publisher before he was killed off.

But if that's true, he would know Sylar wasn't killed off when he said he knew how Sylar died (regarding the drawing of Hiro running him through with his sword).

It's a really annoying hole. And it really didn't make sense why they'd even bother dropping it in there, all it did was make them look like continuity-retarded fools.

You mean like how Nathan came back from the dead despite the fact that the Linderman he was communicating with was just an illusion concocted by Maury Parkman?

Or how the air supposedly being cut off in the container Claire and Meredith went into would not only suffocate Claire, but also Meredith AND extinguish her ability to create fire? Fire does need oxygen after all.
