I genuinely laughed out loud. And I declare that great white sharks be officially called "nature's snuggle duckies."

Welcome to the board, LastNote!

EDIT: Sorry, Belial. When I first read your comment, I thought you said "I could eat you" in reference to your cat, making the PETA campaign all that more moot.

I've still got another week before I gotta go back to school.

Right now I'm drinking cider I mulled myself, crocheting a scarf, and watching X-Men cartoons.

Brandon's at band practice. I think this week I'm going to learn to play guitar. Might as well, not like I have anything better to do.

I'm broke and wondering about wandering around L.A. tomorrow because there's really nothing else to do. It's been really warm lately.

Planted my mom's mango tree yesterday. Dug up a really old horseshoe making the hole for the tree last week.

I used the $10 left in my bank account to pre-order the damn Spider-Man issue with the Obama variant, third printing. A bunch of sleazy comic book store owners have been hoarding the first printings and demanding $100 a piece for 'em. What's the comic world coming to?

The longest that I can remember would be 30 hours. Had to wake up early and work through the night for a Rocky Horror convention in Las Vegas back in 2005.

I've probably done more than that and don't remember or didn't realize it.

Move over, PETA. Someone's out to dethrone you as king of the idiotic special interest groups.

First of all, Krispy Kreme is indeed giving away free donuts tomorrow in honor of Inauguration Day.

But the hot piece of WTFery today is the anti-abortion group American Life League taking Krispy Kreme's press release saying you can have one free "doughnut of choice" and twisting it to mean something abortion-related (instead of the freedom to choose whom you vote for).

...

Here's an article on it: http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/riptide/2009/01/pro-life_group_up_in_arms_over.php

This isn't an argument over whether or not abortion is moral, this is a matter of someone being dumb enough to read between lines that aren't there.

Oh jeez.

To a certain extent, it has. The prices of many things I buy has gone up, and my parents don't go out to dinner that often. We eat at home more, which has been good. I've also been baking more.

However, since I'm always broke, I haven't really been able to go out as often as I used to. That's all right, I guess.

Did you watch Obama's Inauguration?

I thought it was funny that the chief justice messed up the presidential oath. Obama caught it and paused for Roberts to notice the error and correct himself.

The correct Presidential Oath of Office can be found here in Article II, Section I of the Constitution: Constitution Page 2

Heh, she's definitely not hard on the eyes.

I'm quite impressed with her actually. Since she's a teacher, she's been saying that while she and Joe are living in Washington, she's going to go teach at a local community college. I mean, can you imagine? The Second Lady not just sitting around, lapping up the good life, but teaching at a community college? Outstanding!

Last weekend of freedom before school starts.

*Sigh*

Nothing to do.

I think I'll go make breakfast for Brandon...

Then maybe look up something to do...

You know, to pass the time this weekend...

It's funny. I spent most of this month kinda hoping school would start soon. And now that classes are around the corner again, I feel a twinge of depression that I gotta go back now.

...

I'm gonna go make breakfast now. Yay, meatloaf.

I suddenly pictured them removing raspberry jelly-filled ones. Stabbing them through the heart and spurting red all over for extra symbolism.

Zoso and I went to a test screening of it today. The movie isn't coming out until October, and the screening that we saw was mostly to see if all of the actors work in their parts. If enough people thought someone was terrible they might still re-film some things or maybe replace them.

Seriously, though, the movie has some really cool sideshow scenes, but a quarter into the film it all goes downhill and becomes a rip-off of every teen vampire flick out there.

If you're concerned about spoilers, be aware of the following:

The story goes that two friends, Darren and Steve, are given a flyer for a late night, underground freak show performance. They go. Steve realizes one of the performers is a vampire he's read about and after the show accosts the performer demanding to be made a vampire. The vampire refuses saying Steve's blood tastes evil.

Meanwhile Darren steals a rare, very poisonous spider from the performer which he uses in his act. The spider gets out at school and bites Steve, putting him into a coma.

Darren goes to the vampire asking for an antidote and the vampire pretty much says, "I'm gonna make you a half-vampire and you're going to be my assistant."

Uh.. k.

Throughout all of this, there's a stand-off between vampires and vampanese (pretty much evil vampires... yeah, seriously). Steve becomes a vampanese and starts looking like the spiky-haired, pale-skinned vampires from Twilight.

Darren is instructed on how to be a good vampire, how to "flit," and how to use his nails as a weapon.

Darren and Steve have a showdown in the end. Neither die, but now they've started a war that's going to be fought in the inevitable sequels.

John C. Reilly plays the vampire who make Darren a "half-vampire." His acting, when he's trying to be serious is horribly cheesy, like most of the movie.

Oh god. So, so cheesy.

MASSIVE turn off.

I don't watch porn to get off, but more for amusement. As someone who loves cheesy dialogue and bad action flicks, ones like Fallen, Kung Fu Nurses s Go-Go, and the Pirates franchise are fascinating. But whenever they finally get to the nitty-gritty I get more annoyed with all of the "Yeah!! Smack that ass!!" or "Yes... ohhhhhhh.... fuck me!" and all the strange sounds they make during, most especially when it's the girl going "Oo, oo, ooo, ooo, oo," or screaming in time to the grinding.

Anyway, any sort of talking during the act itself gets annoying. I'm strictly a gentle moans and groans sort of person, I guess.

Twilight, Cirque du Freak, Blood and Chocolate, etc... they're all just a bunch of Mary Sues.

OK, I'm sitting in the computer lab on my second day back to school and I am crazy bored... and hungry... and not willing to spend $6.50 for a hot dog.

Fullerton's fucking expensive, hommes.

What was the last...

...thing you ate?
- Chocolate truffles and an almond bar.

...person you talked to on the phone?
- Brandon. Asking him to tape Dr. Phil because one of my comm teachers is going to be on talking about his daughter and her getting 14,000 text messages in one month.

...person you e-mailed/private messaged?
- Rob. I think. Yeah, Rob. But I got his out-of-office message.

...person you hugged?
- Brandon.

...person you kissed?
- Brandon.

...time you laughed?
- This thing a minute ago:

It's the guy doing the message at the end that sells it for me.

...time you cried?
- I shed a tear yesterday reading Memories of my Melancholy Whores.

...movie you watched in a theater?
- Cirque du Freak, a couple days ago.

...DVD you watched?
- House M.D., season 3, disc 2.

...video tape you watched?
- Swing Kids. Wanted to see Wilson dance.

...song you listened to?
- I have a video going in another tab that's playing "Superman" by Goldfinger.

- I think that was Tortilla Curtain, but I'm not sure.

...heart-to-heart you had with someone?
- Brandon probably.

- I just met Michael. This guy in my last class.

...person who died in your life?

- This weekend, I guess. Had a turkey sandwich on toasted sourdough.
