Otherwise there was this one taken in San Francisco with Stitch a couple months ago:

My friend used to say things like, "Hopefully the sausage bus stops in Tuna Town tonight," when he'd try to get laid with another friend of ours. Since he's never around any more, I think of the line fondly when I remember him.

I did indeed.

The ending's while not being the same, do have many similar things occurring, even to the point of quotes from "Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour" making it into the film ("I've dabbled in being a bitch," etc). Since Bryan Lee O'Malley was a consultant and on set throughout the making of the movie, I'm sure he filled them in on what was happening.

Yeah, I was aware of the book being finished later. I've been writing reviews about the fact that comic book movies are coming out faster than their source material can conclude them naturally ("Kick-Ass," and now "Scott Pilgrim").

Mark Millar's been bragging about studios trying to snatch up his latest book, "Nemesis," before it even released issue 1. "Nemesis" isn't near as good as he thinks it is, but then again, I dislike Millar's work almost entirely.

There's that really good Croatian/Italian place, but it's strictly take out. $8 for a decent sized calzone with whatever you want in it, and you can pick up cheap drinks at the liquor store next door.

But back to the topic of KFC, it's interesting that they've started these $5 box meals with the option of just getting a fried chicken filet. It comes in a bag like it's a hashbrown or something. I ended up getting that while on the road, heading out of Bakersfield. It wasn't bad or anything, but it was on par with just ordering a hamburger patty with no bread or anything on it.

There's something remarkably unnatural about eating a big, Hong Kong-style meal at 1 a.m. in a restaurant. Slept in the van on the way there, and slept on the way back. The place was packed too.

Gonna see about catching a play tonight.

In the meantime, gonna sit at Quiznos with my $2.99 meal and read comics like I've been doing for the last two days. Yahoo...

Cat eyes, especially if they were gold. In other words, I wish I could trade eyes with my cat, Miko. But then it'd be creepy to look at her.

That's tough, especially since the line between being a superhero and a comic book character with powers or gadgets is fairly indistinguishable.

I guess, I'll just answer with Rogue, since she's been my favorite Marvel character since I could remember. Green Arrow's my favorite DC hero. Invincible's my favorite Image hero. And Darkwing Duck was my favorite hero when I was a little kid.

Rogue just happens to have the capacity to become a goddess at will.

What are your thoughts on someone spending nearly $100 million to win a campaign for governor?

I've been helping some friends get their geek news site off the ground lately.

Here's audio footage of me asking the MythBusters if they would ever do a steampunk episode: Link!

Last month was full of conventions and random parties and wandering. I think the Comic-Con hangover is finally ebbing.

Otherwise, I've still got a couple weeks until school starts up again. 15 units. Since I'm not constantly writing for the paper this semester, I shouldn't be as stressed or busy. Got a couple night courses, though. And feature writing will also take up some time, I'm sure.

Fun stuff erupting from Los Angeles regarding the fight against the Muslim center near Ground Zero...

'Museum Of Tolerance' Director Opposes Mosque But Built Museum On Muslim Cemetery

The group behind the recently opened "Museum of Tolerance" museum in Manhattan has come out against a planned Islamic community center, which includes a mosque, near Ground Zero.

"Religious freedom does not mean being insensitive...or an idiot," Rabbi Meyer May, the Wiesenthal Center's executive director, told Crain's New York.

"Religion is supposed to be beautiful," he said. "Why create pain in the name of religion?"

It's a topic he knows something about. The Wiesenthal Center caused an uproar in for building one of its Museums of Tolerance on top of an old Muslim burial ground in Jerusalem.

The building of that museum has "resulted in digging up the remains of people who had been buried in a Muslim cemetery for generations," according to City University professor Marnia Lazreg. Indeed, in 2006, workers dug up bones, and an Arab group sued to stop the project from going forward.

The Wiesenthal Center has pushed forward, however, and in 2008 the Israeli Supreme Court declared that the center was allowed to build its museum on the land.

The court pointed out that no one had objected years before when the city had paved over the land for a parking lot.

The furor over the downtown Manhattan community center has intensified over the past few weeks. It should be noted, though, that Muslims already hold daily prayers in the building and have for months. And the actual World Trade Center site will host an office tower -- with Conde Nast in negotiations to become a prime tenant.

SOURCE

To quote the first comment to this story: "Intolerance. It's the new tolerance."

A little backstory for those who might be lost...

The Weisenthal Center is based out of L.A. where they have the Museum of Tolerance, which is designed to educate people who visit it about world intolerance, specifically the Holocaust. Tour guides, several of them Holocaust survivors, take you on a walkthrough of the exhibit. The Museum of Tolerance also showcases other things like the Cambodian Killing Fields and black segregation.

The Museum has refused to allow information about the Armenian genocide to be made available within, much to the anger of Armenians, especially the members of System of a Down.

To have this group, which happens to be Jewish, preach about learning to love one another and religious freedom yet opposing a Muslim community center is a MASSIVE slap in the face.

I'm sorry, but as a patron of many of Los Angeles' museums and art communities, this just pisses me off. What. The. Fuck!?
