I just listened to Rep. Mike Kelly from Pennsylvania spouting all kinds of fire and brimstone on Fox this morning. I can't believe what he was saying went on the air, but then again...
Two-thirds of the country chose not to vote. Well, time to build momentum for 2016. EDIT: Oh, and I forgot to mention. While out in Long Beach for one of Brandon's shows, I overheard these 20-somethings discussing the election and one said something like, "We really need to vote no on Prop 8" as though it's something you vote on every year. The word "idiot" comes from Greek for one who doesn't participate in politics. Believe me, the label fits this guy.

There are a few things.
The smell of the cold air from a moldy air conditioner makes me think of Comic-Con during the good years, since we used to stay in complete dive motels closer to the Mexican border. Hmm.. my mind's gone blank. Probably need to get hit with the smell to remember what makes me feel one way or another. What's your least favorite fast food chain and why? |

Between those two spicy fries, though Carl's Jr's crisscut (waffle, essentially) fries ARE seasoned "spicy" fries.
Did you go to your senior prom? |

It's gotta be in the 30s, I'd think. Living in SoCal, I don't have any really thick jackets. I'll wear layers under my wool coat, if necessary. I was fine in Washington on cold days, but then I haven't experienced their winter. I didn't need much for enduring the cold and snow in Texas.
Still, a few years back when I was wandering around San Francisco alone, I ended up having to buy one of those touristy fleece jackets down at the Wharf because the thin hoodie I was wearing just wasn't enough and it was cycling between warm and freezing. It probably wasn't even getting lower than 50 and it was late May. Have you ever been around people from another area that went, "Man, it's hot outside!" (or cold) and felt perfectly comfortable? (That was Brandon's sister while we were up for another wedding in WA, walking out into breezy 65 degree weather. Kept complaining it was so hot). (Last edited by Rogue on 11-09-14 03:24 AM) |

I don't have my hair professionally cut that often, but YES it's awkward whenever anyone has you in a chair and wants to talk. It's always particularly worst when it's my dentist. I hate those conversations where they've got their hands in your mouth and are asking you questions, expecting garbled answers.
What's the last thing that made you laugh for more than a couple consecutive minutes? Like the joke or whatever has already long past and you're still laughing, and then you think about it again and you lose your mind laughing all over again? |

Fuck that it took a two hour wait to be seen for a (literally) 5-second visit with the doctor to confirm my TB test was negative.
Fuck that even when I was at the clinic in a waiting room all by myself, it was STILL an hour-long wait just to get the TB test in the first place. |

I really should clean my room. *Looks at all the towels on the floor flattened from everyone walking on them and the massive, mid-torso high katamari of clothes in the center of the room*
Jesus... |

I know it doesn't quite count as anime, but I've been binge-watching "Teen Titans" since I love "Teen Titans Go," but never really watched the original cartoon. Only really watching when Brandon's around so we're only about 8 or 9 episodes in.

I thought it was going to be so much more serious than it is. One of my friends was bitching that he can't stand "Teen Titans Go" because "they made them derpy now." Watching the original cartoon, it's just as "derpy" a lot of the time.
But yes, the original series is great. Of course, I'm also waiting around for some Beast Boy/Raven action (which I'm sure never gets more than flirtatious). |

I'm quite a bit behind in this one, but I saw "Guardians of the Galaxy" a couple weeks ago. I liked it a lot better than the few comics I've read for it.

Yet another social networking site (though it's more of a blog or Livejournal-like site) has popped up, invitation only. This one's been going on about being anti-advertising and that their users are not products. Ello I ended up getting an account, and it seemed like several people out there were bragging about getting one as well. But I haven't really been doing anything with it. I haven't bothered looking up anyone else on here. Thoughts on this thing? I mean, is anyone even using Google-Plus? |

I'm on there as @roguetitan.
I've mostly just been reposting my One New Thing A Day project photos to it. I like having it, but I'm sure I'll be on Facebook much more. |

They probably figure they're making this exclusive-sounding cool kids club. But really, I'm not seeing anything so amazing here that I'm willing to drop my Facebook altogether.
To me, it's like reverting back to LiveJournal. Which is fine, in a way. But yeah, that demand they were trying to create. I haven't heard anyone else talk about it in a month. |

Started my job this week. I'm pretty much getting up at 6, getting ready, driving to work, working, driving home, and then looking at the internet for a bit before it's practically time to go to bed again and continue the cycle. No wonder people live for the weekends.

Faustus was pretty good. You can definitely tell that Marlowe was well-educated. I'd known the story of Faust, but hadn't read or seen Faustus. If I remember right Faust is saved at the end of his saga, but Faustus gets dragged to Hell.
Pretty cool about the Gettysburg account! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I only suddenly realized a few days ago that my ancestors were at the first Thanksgiving. My dad and I are direct descendants of Stephen Hopkins, through his daughter, Constance. Hopkins had a pretty colorful history before that what with shipwrecking on his way to Jamestown and such. Anyway, I was talking with a friend about it a couple months back and he laughed saying his ancestor, Edward Doty, was actually a servant of Hopkins'. I'm kinda geeking out about the fact that Stephen, Constance, and Edward were all at the first Thanksgiving. |

Still trucking through "Sirens of Titan." I'm about 2/3rds through.
Malachi Constant just reminds me of Tony Stark for some reason. |
