I actually haven't seen the movie. I'm pretty much waiting 'til it hits Netflix or HBO Now. The consensus seems to be that's it's pretty, but the story and acting are terrible.

Which is sort of how I've been feeling about the books, so perhaps they're a faithful adaptation?

Currently reading my copy of "Henry and Glenn Forever," a collection of comic strips about Henry Rollins and Glenn Danzig as a gay couple.

So it happened. We all knew it would, but I still wished it hadn't. Eh.

Anyway, the part I found myself cheering the hardest for (I'm sure you could guess already) was the kids dealing with a certain sociopath.

And, sad, no CleganeBowl this season. Well, there's always the next/last one. Whenever THAT gets to air.

I'm honestly not sure.

I know my go-to answer should be when I got engaged, but I think mine is more when my boyfriend and I had been out traveling alone together, especially in Croatia. Even then, that just feels like an easy go-to.

We're eight months in, and I still have yet to EVER refer to that person as anything resembling the office of one who lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

I will never use the term "45," because even that implies he is that office.

So, Shakespeare season is over for another year.

It was my first time seeing "Richard II," "Henry IV Part 1," and "Two Gentlemen of Verona." We also saw "Taming of the Shrew," "Macbeth," "Much Ado About Nothing," and "Measure for Measure" (well, the only other time I saw that one it was re-written as a political piece about the American Indian schools.) There was also a re-telling of "Midsummer Night's Dream" using the Power Rangers.

We also watched the entirety of that new TNT show, "Will."

Went to the annual Huntington Beach Civil War Days again yesterday. It was so humid. Can't help but feel sorry for all those people wearing so many layers of wool.

Watched the first season of "Handmaid's Tale" that's out. I already know the source material, but I'm having trouble understanding why anyone who doesn't would enjoy watching this week-to-week. It's so dreary, depressing, and frankly, boring.

I figured I'd go ahead and start the thread since I'm looking forward to the holiday.

I ended up buying my Halloween costume a couple days ago. My wallet hurts a bit, but at least I won't just be showing up in my faire garb like the last couple years.

My boss apparently bought a $300 Jon Snow costume.

What was the last...

...thing you ate?
- Ate one of my Nakiryu instant ramen, which a Michelin star-rated restaurant released.

...person you talked to on the phone?
- Brandon.

...person you e-mailed/private messaged?
- Had to check. It was the people making my wedding dress to see if they got my e-mail regarding my fabric choices.

...person you hugged?
- Brandon.

...person you kissed?
- Brandon.

...time you laughed?
- Talking with Brandon just now. We're also watching "M*A*S*H," so I'm not sure which was the latest chuckle reason.

...time you cried?
- I honestly cried listening to the "Star Wars" theme conducted by John Williams at the Hollywood Bowl a couple nights ago. They also played music from "Harry Potter," "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," "Superman," and "Indiana Jones" and of course the Imperial March along with stuff from "Force Awakens."

...movie you watched?
- In the theater: "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" in 3D.
At home on the computer: Netflix's crappy "Death Note" movie.

...TV show you watched?
- Watching "M*A*S*H" right now.

...DVD you watched?
- I haven't really been watching DVDs much these days, but I think it was one of my copies of "Rick and Morty" either season 1 or 2.

...song you listened to?
- Bran and I were listening to Brendon Small's "Galaktikon II," which is essentially a Dethklok album.

...book you finished?
- I finished reading "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" to my clients on Thursday. It's been nearly 20 years since the last time I read it. I found myself tearing up during some of the parts, particularly Ron's sacrifice even though I know he makes it out of the whole series.

The last book I read for my own pleasure was the anthology I have of "Henry and Glenn Forever," about Henry Rollins and Glenn Danzig as a gay couple. Finished that last weekend.

...heart-to-heart you had with someone?
- Probably Brandon.

...person you met?
- Jose, the new activities coordinator at our center. He's going to be my aide for at least a couple months before he goes full AC.

...person who died in your life?
- Petyr Baelish.

...new food you tried?
- The finger sandwiches Kristen made for our annual tea and Shakespeare at the Old Zoo party, I think.

...new thing you tried (event, action)?
- I apparently listed five things last time, so ah, fuck it, here's the last five again (UPDATE: 4/24/2016: Ditto UPDATE: 9/24/16 Ditto squared UPDATE: 6/26/17 Ah fuck it UPDATE: 9/4/17 Yup, here it comes again):
1. Had our new lawn chairs at the Civil War re-enactment. Got to sit back and watch the battle and not just stand there or cramp up sitting on the ground. It was a rather foreign feeling.
2. Saw John Williams conduct in person. He brought Kobe Bryant out to narrate an animated short.
3. Several of the things we did for the tea and Shakespeare party (bought tiered plates, got photographed by the cast's marketing people, had actual hot tea , drank elderflower lemonade from my newly bought glass champagne flutes, etc.)
4. Ate the burger of the month at Grill 'Em All. It's the "Dimebag Darrell," with chicken pot pie filling atop the patty and served on jalapeno bread.
5. Watched the shit show Netflix "Death Note" movie.

...time you went around the house in just your underwear?
- Pretty much any time I'm home, particularly right after a shower and running back to my room.

...time you weren't fully sober?
- Hm, a couple weekends ago. You'd think I was out to punish my liver with how much I was drinking for my boss' birthday, then a couple days later was the beer dinner with Brandon's band. I got a bit tipsy, even if in a smaller capacity than that Friday night.

...you "geeked" out?
- This entire past weekend, most particularly Saturday night watching John Williams conduct while everyone's waving light sabers. The next day we went to a Civil War re-enactment.

...thing you read in the bathroom?
- Facebook, on my phone.

...bargain you made?
- The stuff I bought for the tea party.

...thing you planned?
- Trying to plot out how this coming weekend is going to go. We have to meet with out prospective caterer on Saturday and our friend is having a wine-tasting party with a sommelier that same day, which was actually planned first but the caterer we want told us to meet with her. Since we're going to be stuck going to L.A. for that, we figured we'd try to check out the TV costume exhibit at FIDM and grab some orgasmic breakfast tacos from our favorite place beforehand.

The next thing will have to be the day trips to Oak Glen.

...award you won?
- Same thing since last time: "Most Hands On" award at my center.

...piece of toast you had?
- Had eggs benedict on Sunday at one of our favorite breakfast places in Huntington Beach.

...present you gave?
- Just found out a friend of ours has had to go to the hospital for a heart condition. Since we were at the Huntington, yesterday, when we found out, I bought her a pair of socks as a get well gift from their newly put up Halloween section.

...porno you saw?
- Shit. No clue. (UPDATE 9/24/16: Same UPDATE: 6/26/17 Uh.... porn?) Honestly, no idea.

...song you sang in the shower?
- I don't sing in the shower.

...song you had stuck in your head?
- "FYI I Wanna F Your A" -- Ninja Sex Party

...thing you marked on your calendar?
- The last one I wrote in is the one I keep at work, where in I write what my clients and I did each day to keep track of where I've been going, whether or not I had a van, and so on. So, today, I wrote that we played baseball in Highridge Park and then went to the South Coast Botanic Garden.

...errand you ran?
- Deposited cash and picked up some groceries after work.

...drink you had?
- Diet Coke and water.

...cool thing you found?
- Uh... huh. Not sure. Um.. I got a Gilderoy Lockhart card with my chocolate frog at Universal. Apparently everyone usually only gets the four Hogwarts house founders and Dumbledore.

...time you brushed your hair?
- Last night.

...person you talked to over AIM, YIM, etc?
- Messaged a few links of random things to Brandon.

...thing you bought?
- Early bird tickets for Old World Oktoberfest.

...game you played?
- Blackjack with the clients for my money management club.

...new place you visited?
- Apparently I listed five last time, so once again, fuck it (UPDATE: 4/24/2016: AGAIN ditto Fuck it. It goes double for always):
1. A new (to me) part of the Terranea Trail, which I took the clients walking on for the first time
2. The amphitheater where OC Shakespeare performs (saw "Henry IV Part 1")
3. Beer dinner event at BJ's
4. Wizarding World of Harry Potter area in Universal Studios
5. Rock & Brews (for my boss' birthday)

...thing you celebrated?
- Arguably, Labor Day, which I celebrated by not going to work and eating an absurd amount of hamburger meat, but really the last thing for me was the end of Shakespeare and picnicking season.

...dream you had?
- I had a strange dream about my clients, but I actually can't remember it now.

...thing you dressed up for?
- All the theme days at work in July.

Superhero Day, Sports Day, and lastly (my favorite) Hawaiian Day. Not pictured is Crazy Hat Day.

...website you visited outside of the board?
- Facebook

...thing you really wanted, but couldn't get?
- "Perfect health for my parents."

That's what I wrote last time, and thankfully, since that last post my mom became cancer-free. I guess the new answer would be: "a surplus of money in my bank account," since my paychecks have been completely eaten up by my credit card bill the last couple months.

...movie you watched that you thought was underrated?
- Hm, hard to say. Re-watched the live action Japanese versions of "Death Note." They really are phenomenal in comparison with Netflix's.

...stage (concert, play, etc) show you saw?
- John Williams at Hollywood Bowl on Saturday.

...time you visited family?
- With my family: Father's Day
With Brandon's: Got to see his grandma, mother, sister, and niece while we were in Arizona for the holiday weekend in early July. We were out there for his grandmother's 80th birthday.

...exercise you did?
- Went walking with the clients on the nike missile silo trapdoors.

...vacation you took?
- Went to Arizona for Mary's birthday.

...text message you sent?
- Posted to Bran's wall on FB. Looks like I'll probably be there forever.

...picture you set as your phone's wallpaper?
- It's the same as the last time. It's this picture, the middle with just me and the tree is the default main screen and spreads toward the right as I go through my icons.

They're speed addicts?

We've all had issues with someone making noises at ungodly hours. And yeah, fuck those people.

My neighbor used to go out early in the morning (we're talking 5, 5:30, around there) and start his motorcycle, then go inside for like half an hour. It was the summer months. We had to have the window open. It's not like the shit needed to warm up.

I would say wedding planning is taking a lot out of me, but I haven't really broken a sweat about it other than trying to nail down the venue.

If anything, what's stressing me out is figuring out how I can invite some people from work and not others. One, that I'd rather not invite, got really drunk at our boss' birthday party and kept asking me point-blank if she was invited.

Back to School sales in August would be the trigger. Man, do I ever miss school supply shopping and feeling like the coming year has so much potential.

Of course, since it's usually still hot I don't really think of it being fall yet, though the mood has been kickstarted.

Hm, when there are cool breezes and the scent of cinnamon everywhere it just feels like autumn. I start planning the trips and the friend outings for the apple harvests, Oktoberfest, Halloween events, Dia de los Muertos, and of course, figuring out what I'm doing for Thanksgiving.

Being in SoCal, we don't get leaves changing until the middle of winter. Seriously.

Brandon's parents aren't contributing shit. Neither one of them live in their own houses; they're living with either their mother (Bran's mom) or stepfather (his dad.) This is entirely on my parents and me, as much of everything up to this point has been. Still, it's not about the money.

And we're not planning on having a cake either.

Work has been better these days, though I'm concerned about the fact that my married boss may be having an affair with one of my co-workers, who's also already married. While the idea that she might get preferential treatment is a factor, it's more that I consider him a friend and don't want to see him go down for this if it ends up getting reported to our regional director.

In other news, I'm really looking forward to International Talk Like a Pirate Day this year.

Hm, the fact is a lot of the things I like that people hate, they secretly like too and don't want people to know.

Like, say, McDonald's chicken McNuggets. I don't give a shit that people keep showing pictures them being made from a pink emulsion. They're still damn tasty and I'm surrounded by people who bag on McDeez, but still get excited about ordering a 20 piece and eating it by themselves.

Still, not entirely sure what would be a good answer for me here.

Huh. OK, it's typical among my friends, but cold weather and rain. I thoroughly enjoy the rain and walking around in it. Not a fan of driving it, but I do love when we have it, no matter how strong. I feel like I'm happiest when it's cold out.

Oh, and getting up early. I hate that I usually wake up an hour before my alarm, but I much prefer being up and out early in the morning.

Heh, I went through a realization like that recently. This girl I went to school with from elementary all the way through high school ended up graduating 8 months pregnant. I suddenly was thinking about how her child would be a teenager now.

Another girl I knew who gave birth when we were freshmen would have one that's going to be old enough to vote soon.

Hopefully they'll all die off soon when it gets cold.

Yesterday, we had four incidents of clients shitting their pants. Two of them were with me in the morning.

I mentioned the pants-shitting to a co-worker when we were waiting for our clients to get direction from the admin on where to go next. She made some comment that went, "You really attract them. Hahahaha. Either that or they're just doing it at the sight of you. Hahahahaha."

OK. First off ... the last time I had a client shit their pants on my watch was many months ago and even then, it was that she shit her pants during her morning club, the staff she had at the time either didn't notice or didn't care, so she ended up being sent to me and I had her clean up and change.

Secondly, that's just fucking mean.

Karma struck in the afternoon. One of the clients she had was using a public bathroom and realized there wasn't toilet paper, so he wiped his ass with his hand and then walked out of the bathroom with his shit-covered hand saying he needs toilet paper.

Yeah, fuck people sometimes.

I keep seeing these memes going around Facebook. I'm bored enough to answer one here.

1. What was the last thing you put in your mouth?

- Brandon and I share a bed.

6. When was the last time you cried?

7. Who was the last person you took a picture with?

19. How do you feel about Dr Pepper?
- Indifferent.

20. Who took your profile picture?
- Brandon

21. Was yesterday better than today?

- My wallet, I guess. Even if I don't buy anything, I still at least need my license on me to drive for work.

26. Who was the last person you visited in the hospital?

31. Has anyone ever called you perfect?
- Nope.

32. Someone knocks on your window at 2:00 a.m., who do you want it to be?

33. Name something you have to do tomorrow.
- Photograph Brandon's band's show, pick up my boots from the shoe repair guy on 2nd Street, pick up book I have on hold at the library, and inspect my packages from Amazon when they arrive tomorrow.

34. Do you think too much or too little?
- Far too much. I'm way too introspective, paranoid, and load with anxiety.

35. Do you laugh a lot?
