Yeah, actually the second I saw this I HAD to post it.

I dunno, the first thought that came to mind is how our friends so relgiously drink Monster, especially Zoso. I was suddenly worried for everyone.

Yeah, and TAB (the original Diet Coke) was one of the main culprits. Ironically TAB just came out with an energy drink.

Zoso and I just got back from 7-Eleven and while there we read the ingredients of several of the sodas. It looks like Lost and Mountain Dew really don't have this mixture of ingredients mentioned in the article.

When I was reading the ingredients on a can of Rockstar, I noticed after the ingredients that were mentioned not to consume when mixed together it said in parentheses, "To protest the flavor."

Ah, the NRA. It's hard to take old Charlton seriously when he's holding a rifle over his head and saying, "Not from my cold, dead hand."

Either way, I support the right to bear arms, but sometimes I think there should be a test involved if you want to own a firearm. A simple test like knowing where the safety is, how to keep the gun out of the reach of children, and basic care.

A competant person should be able to breeze through such a test, weeding out (with any luck) those who shouldn't be allowed to own one.

This goes along with Seticus' article about meeting people online, but this one was kind of amusing considering how Cal was able to get this guy and win a game against a typically hard-to-beat team.

Blog post

Victor, Victoria

Victoria was a "UCLA co-ed" created by Cal's rally-comittee. Using AOL instant messenger "she" had been chatting with [USC guard] Gabe [Pruitt] for the last week online. Gabe and several of his teammates were all set to go to Westwood when they got back tonight so that they could party with Victoria and her friends. At the game today when he first was introduced in the starting lineup the chants began to start. "Victoria, Victoria, and then followed by her phone number!"

The look on Gabe's face when he turned to the bench after the first Victoria chant was priceless. It was unlike anything I have ever seen from a opposing player. He was in shock. It was hilarious. Transcripts of their conversation were handed out to the bench. My personal favorite quotes by Gabe: "You look like you have a very fit body." and "Now I want to c u so bad."

Postscript: Pruitt went 3/13 from the field and Cal gained a much-needed 11 point win as they try to make their way into the last few selections of the NCAA tournament. I'm not sure if the prank was the difference in the game, but it certainly looks to have been a big factor.

If we can have so much testing and nonsense over getting a license to drive a car, why not at least put some stipulation on owning a firearm? Sure it puts a little restraint on bearing arms, but I think if you're going to be owning them you should know when, where, and how it is appropriate to use them as well as the proper storage and so on for safety reasons.

I'm sure anyone on the board who has their own guns knows the proper usage, so this shouldn't be an issue. But like Trigger Happy said, "9/10 of those are in the hands of sane, responsible people," implying there are a tenth of those who shouldn't have them.

I use cyber cafes all the time (usually when I'm on vacation or something along those lines).

Checking my mail is a daily task for me right along with something simple like laundry.

Another one that fits the bill:

Guy jacks car minutes after being released from jail... for carjacking.

Article

Police: Man Carjacks Minutes After Jail Release

A man accused of stealing an off-duty Orange County deputy's car with her son inside had just been released from jail on similar carjacking charges minutes before the crime, Local 6 News has learned.

Investigators said Deputy Tonjali Frost, 37, her bail-bondsman husband and her 4-year-old son were at a RaceTrac gas station across the street from the Orange County Jail near John Young Parkway Monday night putting gas in both of their cars.

Police said when Frost's husband ran into the station to pay for gas, Jerome Nez jumped into the couple's white Jeep sport utility vehicle and drove off with the family's 4-year-old still in the vehicle.

The child somehow managed to exit the vehicle by either jumping or being pushed out near the gas station, Local 6 News reported.

When the child was out of vehicle, Frost and her husband opened fire at the fleeing SUV, Local 6 News reported.

Blocks away, Nez crashed into another vehicle and was taken into custody after a search of a nearby subdivison.

"Everybody is OK, but since it is a deputy who is involved and we have shots fired, we have to do a full-blown investigation," Orange County Sheriff's spokeswoman Crystal Candy said.

Nez is charged with grand theft auto and burglary in connection with the incident.

After an investigation, detectives learned that just weeks ago, Nez was accused of carjacking a man outside a Mobil gas station near Apopka, Fla.

However, the victim could not be reached or chose not to cooperate, according to prosecutors. So, the state attorney's office dropped the charges against Nez.

"After being released from jail, Nez may not have had a ride home so investigators said he simply carjacked the deputy's vehicle," Local 6 reported Mike DeForest said.

Frost is on routine administrative leave for the investigation.

I went throughout high school with the same boyfriend and I completely severed my ties with him before graduation. My first months in college, I had a new guy every few days that was either asking me out or at least expressing some interest.

Just be assertive. Ask a girl if she wants to go out or something. Girls like nice, sweet guys like you and just being assertive can be a turn on.

Also, try joining interest clubs. You'd be surprised how many girls are interested in the same things you are and might want to get closer to you. ^_~

EDIT: Had to fix a few typos.

It'll happen for you. Maybe not today, but soon. You just need to bloom a little. Yeah, it's cheesy, but it's true.

College is a different frame of mind all together. You don't have to go to class, there are no walls, and there's a lot more freedom. I do go to a college that's somewhat more strict than it should be, but it's a completely new and free world to those fresh out of high school.

I do recommend going to the university, although the comminuty college can be cheaper to get GE classes out of the way. You stilla re able to meet cool and interesting people in community college, just keep an open mind.

The whole girl issue is common with geek/gamer guys. I find it cute, honestly.

You'll see when you start attending.

This isn't a question for me or anything like that, so you can clear your mind of that right now.

Out of curiosity, I'd just like to hear how far you'd willingly go on a first date (be it a blind date or someone you've known, but haven't been romantic with before).

For those of you afraid or too embarassed to answer, I have friends who'd fulfill every choice on there (including the "past coitus" option) and willingly talk about it in detail, and on the other end of the spectrum I have friends who think kissing on the cheek is too much.

So what's your limit? And this is supposing that the date is ranging between "okay" to "well," like it isn't with someone you've discovered you can't stand, and a second date with this person will more likely happen.

Multi-voting enabled so you can list everything you'd do and not just the limit.

OMG, I just died inside...That type of life freaking HURTS!!!!

Sajin of the Gorotto Sea is Clearly a current victim of this type of situation

I take it you still think being called a geek or gamer is an insult?

Honestly I totally go for geeks/nerds/freaks/gamers and believe it or not, women are starting to gravitate toward the type. Look at all the hot women who go to conventions these days.

This suddenly reminds me of this guy who asked me to dance at this rave. We hung out for a little while, then offered to drive me home. And me being my younger, trusting self let him.

We pull up in front of my house and I lean over to kiss him on the cheek as a thank you and he happened to turn and stick his tongue down my throat. God, it was a terrible kiss... like he was a little kid trying to get the last bit of chocolate pudding at the bottom of the cup and not quite getting it.

He didn't leave me alone for almost a year. Like he'd call late at night wanting to talk to me and my parents would tell him I wasn't home and then he'd call again 20 minutes later.

Yeah, they mentioned in the article that the listed is what they purchased and turned up with those ingredients. You still need to be on the lookout for yourself.

But it is a good thing that you mentioned it.
