Posted on 03-07-05 05:10 PM, in I wonder is life nothing but a memory Link
here is how I try to think about it all.

I would say memory is just perceptions of events and thoughts that happen over time. And life, life is just that ongoing over time, and we happen to be part of it.

Your life may not matter in a grand scheme of things, such as your individual memories, or your individual preferences. Soon as that individual that is you dies, you will be gone forever.

But that does not mean you should be sad about it.

You should be happy about the other important parts.

When you are gone, your memories cease to exist, and as a whole, your time to influence things is over, so what you have to do is to use your time to influence everything that you can in the best way possible. Why mourn your own time being over? Be proud of the things that you accomplish in your life time, no matter how long or short it was, and no matter how monumental those good accomplishments were.

People don't have to remember you, nor should they have to. Just be sure in the fact that what you did with the time you were given was worth while. You can be a person's savior, the anonymous person who helps someone out in their time of need, or just brighten one person's day. If they never know who you were, or if they forget it the next day, it doesn't matter. You did something good. That's all you need to worry about.

I can't tell you what life is. Nor can I tell you what memory is.

But I can tell you that neither is important.
What is important is doing good for others.

There are unsung hero's from every single day of time that has passed. You and I don't know who they are, but every day I thank them for what they've done. Because they have done far more than any other hero you'll ever hear about, The best stories of hero's, are only those that live on in the hearts of men, and those that strive to do what's right, even if they're all alone. The stories no one hears about. It's what gives honor and courage meaning, striving to do what's right when no one is looking.

You don't have to be a super hero. But whenever you see any opportunity to do the right thing, or do something for someone else who's having a rough day, do what you can for them. A stranger crying, offer them a hand. As akward as it is, even if all you can do is give them a hug, just do it if you can.

And if you can say yes, I'm a good person, then don't fear your own death, and do not be sad about it. Accept it and be proud of the time that you had, and what you did while you were here, even if no one else does.

First thing that came to my mind:

My Daughter.

That's in the future of course.

As it is right now though, along with what the rest of you have said, I would want to leave behind a statue, one to represent the respectable people I've met in my life. Unsung heros or something like that, you know?

Beyond that, I don't know if I want to leave behind a legacy type thing at all.

Goddamn girl.

You need to get someone to seriously help you out there.

If absolutely nothing else,
being babied is a far better alternative for this shit than simply taking all the punishment.

Tell people around you and get someone or all of them to help.

Granted, no one really knows me here, but I'll have my little input anyhow.
Over the last few times I've been on boards, I've used names, and they've morphed over time.
This last one I just came up late night when I decided I'd give this board a go.
I saw a topic I wanted to reply to, and found that I had to be registered (Damn no guest posting But I suppose that's a good thing, from what I've seen on other boards out there)
So I came up with Truth/Serum. The catalyst to help people say what they really feel.
Note that the ones I posted in has no real truth to them
(Memories, etc.)
So yeah, I think that was longer than it was suppsed to be

I'd have to say the blue hues for me.

Though for the most part, the only color I don't really care for is a lot of bright yellow. And I'm not sure why, I just don't like most yellow things.

pulls out some nifty family health type facts

Okay Xeios, here is how it works.

Girls ovulate 14 days before their period. That is almost always accurate. What isn't always accurate, is the time between the period to the time they ovulate, and that's where irregularity comes in most often.

Sperm can live up to 4 days inside the woman, and the egg can survive 5 days after ovulation (I may have those two numbers mixed up)

Either way, that will give you a 9 day period where a girl can get herself pregnant. Mix that in with other situations, and you can get a girl pregnant all but about 2 days out of the month, depending on the girl, and how regular or not she is.

So in effect, there is no 100% contraceptive, no matter how well planned you are.

Not trying to be harsh on you, just making sure you don't short-change yourself and end up in a bad situation you weren't expecting. Ok?

Ehh, I'm a bit new here. So don't listen to me that much, but,
My advice : Friends first. Things seem to work out that way better I've noticed.

Other than that, I think you should have at least started something up with them, at least a bit more conversation or something.

Well, how do you mean?

There are different ways to depend on people. Emotionally, finantially, etc.

Finantially, my mother for me.

Emotionally though, I've got some really good people there for me who I count on. Special friends of mine.

Not just to be an ass, but sterilizations and contraceptives somewhat different things.

One is prevention of with no permanent effects.

Where as sterilization means to deprive of the power of reproducing. Aka - Permanent.

And the fact is, just about everyone knows about sterilization. It's often not something anyone in their right mind would want to do. Being as it's permanent and all

SUSHI! YA!!!!

I actually love it. I've had all sorts of kinds, from the rolls, to the ones with slabs of meat on top of cubes of rice. Eel, about 12 different kinds of fish (maybe more, I forget actually), sea cucumber is good too, this perfectly little white squid.
I'll eat just about anything as long as it's food and it looks like I can eat it without hurting myself.

On the chopsticks note, I can use those better than a fork actually, which is odd, because I grew up using mostly forks

Just male genitalia in general:

Johnson and the twins.

I'm sure someone here at least must have heard of that one before.
It's what I like to refer to them as in a more formalized setting (Aka, little kids around and I have to use innuendo) Or with my buddies.

Anyhow... Yeah. Johnson and the twins.

And can ovulate during periods eh? That's a new one on me, but okay. Better safe than sorry yah?

Having something to dream about wether or not it's possible is sometimes all you need to keep on going. Never give up on dreams, they're what make us human. Dreams come and go. Dreams can change too. Whatever your dream is, hold on to it. Change to a new dream if you have to, just keep on having a dream kay?

Bleh, weather is weird here.

One day, it reached 78 according to the thermometer... Next day it is rainy and back down to the 50's and 60's.

Spring fever never really hits me at all. It's almost always spring like here, interrupted by a hot summer, and a rainy winter. Fall, winter, and spring are all almost the same. Winter is colder and wet, spring just wet, fall is just like spring cept the leaves fall down. Eternal spring almost

Granted now that is IS warming up a bit, I am acutally going outside and walking down along the river more often, instead of just running down the bike-trail for exercise.

I'm in the funny area where I'm not IN shape, but I'm not out of it either. I've been working out on my upper body strength a lot lately, because it's my major weak area. I've always been strong with my legs, neck, and back, but not my shoulders or arms. (Goes back to when I was little and was heavily involved in gymnastics) I can keep up with most people, except for those damned track people *glares at his friends at school* Right now I'm 6'1" and weigh in at around 203-208, it varies depending on the day really. But so far, I'm just trying to get rid of the last bit of gut I've got left, and trying to up my endurance and strength a few notches.

Well, It's not warm all year round. It get's cold in the winter, and the fall and spring can be chilly with all the rain. But it's not that bad. Granted, yeah, it's almost 6ish months of warmish-hot--eventually-cool weather.

I think at this point, I would take my vote, and say you should give up the dream. You really don't seem to be getting anything out of it, not even motivation for anything else, so it's not doing you any good, just harm. So let it go if you decide that's best. I don't think I have anything else to tell you.
