The problem with the world is that everyone is far too goddamn protective of their kids. They decide what is wrong and immoral and then attempt to shelter children from it. If you keep something from a child, when they grow up and learn from it their is a mystique about it. That's why we in America have a drinking problem, while over in Europe where kids are exposed to it, there's not as much as a 'forbidden' appeal to it.

Children need to be exposed to the truth, or else they'll grow up in a happy-go-lucky fantasy world that will collapse on them and disorient them. I'm not saying hand them a keg and a porno, but don't hide any facet of life from your children.

Your prologue...is the description for the RP in the sign up thread...

First of all, I would suggest ditching that entire prologue save for the first paragraph. Like Vulkar said, give the information of the other parts through conversation. Don't be lazy about this in any aspect. The story within the RP deserves it.

MY rendition of the Prologue:

In the year 2008, by our calenders, a large meteor crashed into the Australian coast line. The meteorite was the harbinger for a power unimaginable- incredible crystals that gave people powers mighty and varied. The world was rocked by this revelation, and as the countless shards fell into the hands of people world-wide, a chaos broke out unlike the world had ever seen. People did as they chose, and governments crumbled under the rising force of anarchy. By now, the year 20013, people have begun to unite under different banners. Great leaders rose and called together nations of people, and millions united under their causes. Now, these great forces struggle for supremacy and power, in this, the War of the Shards.

This is a bit ambigious and dark, and the beginning of a collection of strange writings I decided upon writing. The whole collection will be called The Chronicle. There's a concrete story in it all, but you won't get a hold of all it until it's all laid out. Also, there's a lot of interpretation to do. In part, this is a story a long time coming, but brand new.

The Beginning: The End

Among the flames of the living dead, he walked. A chorus of screams and silence, crackling flames and crying children. In the rioting fields, he walked. A tattered man, devoid of hope, of life, yet living more than the others. They cried aloud now, for their time had come. But he, for now, was Immortal. He was to live, not them. He had been to the Gates of Hell, but the only blood spilt upon him was of those He loved. He stood alone and He cried no tears. Orchid was ending, and He knew it. It's Apocalypse was laid out, rained out, poured out onto the land. The panic and fire that swept the lands was running its course. In the center of it all stood He. And when the light shone upon him, He rose. To leave behind the Darkness, and raise up. To rise above. To find the cause, the reason, the purpose. To return again.

For in it all, he had the Obsidian Tower to think of, and the girl who awaited him inside.
