| The activity at the Whiskey Lullaby had started to thin out, and the owner of the bar had come up to take his place as the bartender. Anrai was free and he knew tonight was the night that would set in motion his escape from this life of hiding from autthorities and from his fate. In his room, He worked his hair into a ponytail, grabbed his sword and dagger. He rose from his seat on the floor and looked at the pail of water across the room. He reached out slowly to it physically and mentally. A pillar of water rose up at his will, and he looked at it with recognition. With the call of his mind, the water defied gravity and wrapped around his hand magically, as though it obeyed him. He sighed, his mind elsewhere, and the water fell to the ground. He opened the door and ran up the steps to reenter the lobby. He sat down at the table and looked at the armored man with a look of determination.

| Cairoi still had the look of disinterest on his face, but now that Ornlu had finally decided to show himself, he supposed this might speed up. However, his host's body was under great duress, so Ornlu would not pose much of a threat to him at all. He took off his gloves, revealing the jaged cross-shaped scars on the back of his hands. He spread his feet out and brought his hands behind him.
"I've fought enough gods to know how it feels." Suddenly, the air around Cairoi became vicious, a torrent of sharp winds that called up the sand underneath him and made a rapidly moving barrier of sand. During this time, Cairoi's hands became encased in a gray hue. Suddenly, this barrier of sand shot out at Ornlu, hopefully throwing off Ornlu long enough not to notice Cairoi shooting through and throwing an incredibly fast punch at Ornlu's armor, threatening to disrupt it's magical properties and shatter a few ribs while he's at it. Cross Scar Hue Grey, aka Burst-This Hue gives off a distinct energy trail that works as a magical agitant. Wherever it hits magnetically attracts all the energy in that object until the point of explosion. It can be used to overload magical armor or weapons and is also a leathal weapon when used on humans, as it leaves a gaping hole in their bodies. |

| Quite the quandry here, ladies and gents. Let's take a minute to carefully examine the pros and cons and make a good judgement.
Both aren't effected by bullets. Both can fly, have super strength, speed, agility... Wait a minute, gents...What if in fact Superman was in fact part of the Matrix? What if in the real world he was normal, but the universe created by the Matrix gave Superman his powers? Hmm? Anyway, I'm sure it would be a grand battle, and Superman would win, but the only reason I think this is because he's such a fucking cheap bastard he always wins. Anyways, yeah. And Vulkar, he LET agent Smith kill him by absorbing him and then they canceled each other out. And no one is entirely sure if Neo is in fact dead because in the end entities eaten by Smith's coding program were shown in the end. Tch tch tch, it is bad for you to assume these things. Anyhoo, yeah.  Have fun. |

With a flash of purple haze, Chaucher appeared before the attack and swiped his hand outward, negating the heat by cooling down the Earth. He walked slowly up to Dave and lifted him up.

"Poor thing..." Chaucher placed his hand on Dave's face, smiling kindly. "Let me make it better." With a flash, David's body dissintagrated and was absorbed into Chaucher's hand, causing him to glow ethereally. He turned at Xicer. "You advance. Welcome to the finals." He smiled, clenching his hands out and in. He could feel Dave's power coursing through him, as he had absorbed the powers of all the previous lost combatants. And he could not wait to absorb Xicer's. "The doors to your left lead to the waiting room. You have until tommorow to rest up. Catch you then." His body once more became encased in a purple glow and he dissapeared to wherever he spent his time.

After much delibaration, Chaucher returned to the two fighters. He had a smile on his face as he put his hand on Ravenna and Sila's shoulders.

"You both fought a wonderful fight, and this tournament was grateful to have you. However..." His head drooped, and Sila's eyes filled with instinctual fear and his face turned white. He began glowing and dissintagrated into Chaucer's hand. Chaucher did not move as his hand fell to his side. His head lifted up and he looked at her coyly. "There is only winner. You advance." He let go of Ravenna and turned around, raising his arms out as though he was parading. "I like his powers, they feel good." He pointed to the right, towards a nondescript door. "Waiting room. You fight in the finals tommorow. Catch you then."

Anrai led the large man and Talea up the steps into his room, where they had the entire floor to themself. To be safe, he pulled down his curtain and locked the door. "As you were saying, good sir." He leaned against the door, and the knight and lady had his bed, his desk, and the opposing wall.

Just for the record, the winner of the Finals will get to fight Chaucer.

And the fact that everyone liked their character, liked the tournament, and the fact this tournament wasn't *ruled* by disqualifications (besides the first round) makes me a happy person. I may think about doing this again, with a continued storyline, fresh new characters (though you can continue to use these if you felt you didn't get enough of them), and more people. 
But not for a while.

I don't watch anime much at all anymore, but I still hold dear to my love of:

Cowboy BeBop and Full Metal Alchemist. I like a lot of other stuff besides those two like Trigun, Ghost in the Shell, Gungrave, Neon Genesis Evangelion (?)... But I had a deep appreciation for Cowboy Bebop and FMA. I finished both series, and they both altered the way I think, so yeah.  One of the things that got me hooked by them was soundtrack. Cowboy Bebop's was legendary, but FMA's was pretty damn good. And the fluidity of the action, the compulsion of the story, the amazing characters, and especially Cowboy Bebop when I say artistic value.
