| Name: Sar Cathan
Age: Physically, twenty-five. Race: Human Height: 6' Weight: 215 lbs. Build: Lean but muscular. Hair: Deep red. Eyes: Green. Date of birth: Unknown. Weapons of Choice: Tyrfing: The Tyrfing is a golden hilted blade that is held on Sar's left hip for ease upon drawing. Although quite big for a one-handed blade, 4'2", Sar utilizes it so. Forged by Dvalin and Durin, two extremely gifted smiths of an ancient past, the two were captured and forced into making the sword for Svafrlami, the king of Gardariki. They made him the blade, and it shone and gleamed like fire, but it was vengeance that colored the sword. Out of spite, the two cursed the blade so that whenever it is unsheathed, blood must be shed in order to satisfy its lust for death. Friend, foe, or passerby, Tyrfing drives the wielder to madness until its blood lust is satiated. Sar is the only known wielder capable of resisting the madness the blade induces. Sólrök: Fated Sun, translated literally from old Norse. Hung from his back by five leather strips, attached to his belt, the blade is gigantic. Nudged just below his lower back, tightly held next to him as to not be a hindrance, the blade is at least twelve inches in width. Not nearly as long as as the Tyrfing however, the weapon itself broken. The blade is rustic, turned red from age, stained blood, and the wear and tear of battle. Cracked and broken, the weapon seems almost to disintegrate the longer it is exposed to air. However, under its horrific exterior lies an awesome power. When Sar feeds his own energy into the weapon, it takes on a new life, both physically and mentally. Consumed in an ivory white blaze, the sword's shape, size and visage changes. There is no actual recorded history to this blade. The only possible link between this mythical weapon and any legend, is a Frisian text making note of Fosite and Sunna's love affair. To this point though, it is all speculation. Typical Clothing: Clothing: Not one to wear constricting clothing, Sar is usually seen in a pair of jeans or his favorite frayed Military Issue Snow-Camos, a black tank top, and a brown leather jacket. Always wearing his favorite necklace, the symbol ">" is cut into its face, which represents both the essence of fire and the will of an artist. Tattoos: Inscribed on each hand is a word, starting at the base of the thumb's first joint and stretching along the inner cuff of the hand until it reaches the index finger's knuckle. On the left hand, the word Hel. On his right hand, the word îsgar∂r. And finally, strewn across his upper back, just below his neck, is the word Mîmamei∂r. Martial status: Widower. Past: "A beast has no past, only the present and a future." Fighting Style: Berserkr: A fighting style originally founded by the Vikings, in which one abandons the concept of self-preservation and relentlessly assaults an opponent without regard for their own health. This style, in of itself, is usually induced through psychoactive foods, herbs or medicines. However, Sar's knowledge of the style is not intimate. Physically, he has a deeper understanding than anyone and is able to utilize it without the need to ingest anything, but it is a subconscious and latent ability. Sólrök is somehow tied to this, though it is unknown as to how and why. To this day, the style has only be released once, but the change in Sar is frightening. |

| The only reason this situation is questionable from a newspaper standard is that it hits too close to home, which can be a strike against credibility when its primary goal is to be unbiased. This is, of course, assuming nothing questionable was in the photos. If it was just of the wreck and not her, then there's nothing to be spoken about, as there was nothing ethical to be considered. If there was a picture of her bloodied, then yes, there would be an ethical issue but I'm assuming that's not the case.
If the piece was merely about the wreck itself as an informational piece, then it seems biased being that you don't give all wrecks the same relevance and importance. But if you gave it the slant and local angle of being relevant to the student body and their well-being at that particular corner, and the dangers that are there, then its the perfect local-college news piece. Anyway, that's my perspective. I've worked in a local news paper for the past three years, under many different titles. Any editor with a head would understand the above concepts, so I doubt you pushed the line in any way, and you should try and have confidence in that. Some people, many people in fact, are over sensitive. |

Many people do not understand the gravity and extreme hardship that follows in the wake of an adoption. As with any system, there are people that abuse it, but something of this sort is unacceptable to be abused. The amount of children placed in foster care is ridiculous, and the women that do abuse the system, both adoption and releasing their children to the government, is sickening. I have personally met a woman with six different children in the system, and only one has been successfully adopted. Beside the fact that it is proven that those in the Foster Care system are significantly more troubled than other children, it is an unimaginable way to be raised from the comfort of our own homes. Despite these things, and despite raising a child in a horrible setting that will forever traumatize them, many times to the point of abuse, for those women who are actually loving and responsible people, those who give up their children to adoption, I do not believe anyone can understand their pain and anguish of having to give up a child; not because they don't want to take responsibility, but because they know they are unable to care for the child due to their fiscal situation, mental maturity, and/or lack of familial support. And I find it both insulting and naive for anyone to say such words as "pathetic", when said people, and their children, will live with the ramifications of that choice for the rest of their lives, both on an emotionally distraught level of some degree. While the people that judge, do so from a throne far away and very high above. Furthermore, to promptly tell someone to "get their tubes tied", when it is major surgery, which does pose a great risk to their life, is harrowing. Sometimes there are mistakes, yes, and sometimes people are wholly responsible for it, but that leaves no room for apathy and a confrontational attitude from people who have not experienced it, possibly one of the most difficult experiences a woman can face in her life. Just because some abuse it, does not mean it should be regarded so abrupt, and because it is abused, foster care and adoption must be taken vastly more seriously, especially by those who support pro-life. Fix the system, or shut the fuck up (This is a general statement and in no way directed at you, just to clarify.). It is a much less atrocious crime to destroy a cluster of unintelligible cells, than to bring a human into this world, unprepared and in the cross-hairs of impoverished society. | Late abortions don't usually happen too often. In fact, there's a law against late abortions in the US unless the Mother's health is in threat. I believe the cut-off is the beginning of the second tri-mester, or in time-terms, the 5th month. Anything beyond that is illegal, and if done, done behind prying eyes. But if I read your post wrong, I apologize; you had prefaced it with "most women", which altered the subject. | |||
