I already told you my opinino, but I thought I'd post it anyway.

I think that we should care about this little girl. It's sad that she was kidnapped, and I most definitally care.

But at the same time, It does happen to everyone else too, and it's a terrible thing. The girl's story isn't any more or less important, it is the same as all of the others.

But still, there is one important point here. Just because it happens to lots of other people, doesn't mean that it is any less sad. It is sad for anyone to be kidnapped or lost, and this girl is another one of such sad people.

That's just my two cents.

(This I believe is going to be the first proper debate I've made in this part of Xeogaming... Damn I hope I'm not going to waste my time... Get ready for me rambling on about stuff and many "..."s)

While happily talking to people on MSN, I get a message which I instantly recognise as a chain message, due to it's "SEND THIS TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE" at the end. The message in question concerns placing a star emoticon at the front of your name to show your hope of the parents finding their three year old daughter who went missing.

To the person who sent me the chain message, I said something along the lines of "Why should I care about one young girl while on our planet many other people have been kidnapped or killed?"

Eventually this lead me to follow what the chain message wanted me to do, but not entirely. Instead, my display name now says "This star is NOT for the young girl who went missing..." and my personal message says "It's to show my support and hope for EVERYONE who has gone missing to safely return" (I rewrote those here out of memory, as MSN just crashed and I can't be bothered to bring it back up.)

Now today, the same friend who sent me the message began banging on at me that I was uncaring for the girl, and that I'm trying to change the meaning of a symbolic image...

The main debate question is, have I made a good point, that the whole world should not stop for one girl while many other people go missing or die, or should I be strung up by my neck and have stones thrown at me?

Now, for me to argue... What my friend called a 'symbol' of showing hope for this one girl is simply an emoticon that has been distributed with the MSN software as long as I've been using it... He said that because other people are using the emoticon as a symbol of showing their hope of the return of the missing girl, I'm in the wrong for wanting to use the image in a different way. Why should I have to obey what some retard with MSN has said in block capitals and spread around the MSN community?

Also, he did say I didn't care about the girl... But as my personal message said, it shows I show hope for EVERYONE... I assume everyone would include the girl...

And thus that ends my ramblings. So, am I in the wrong? Or am I being valid? Is everyone who cares an ounce for this girl stupid because they care about stuff that's not related to them in any way? Any opinion welcome, and I don't care if I'm flamed or anything for my thoughts...

Shit... I think this is the longest post I've EVER done!!! Except for my short story...
