working with my unit before I get shipped out myself. I have about 400 days left here in the states then I get sent over seas for 400 days and my counter part gets a vacation. Then I come back and my couterpart goes out. It's like that over and over and over. |

So, if you aren't going into combat, what exactly will you be doing? |

Okay, this is what I was thinking. The company commander of my recruiter's division asked me a very important question. It basically applied to what I wanted to do later on. This was my plan.
Now Cpt. Hunter asked me how was I going to get more respect. I asked her what she meant then she asked me what I was going to do later on like Air Assault or Airborne. I looked at her like she was crazy. Then I said "Ma'am, the doctors wouldn't let me go into Airborne because of my ankle." Cpt. Hunter laughed and said "Then go to Kentucky and jump out of Helicopters. You're just using yourself and a rope." I thought about it for a moment. Then I approached my mom about it. Big mistake. She just shoved me off. AGAIN. I asked her why? And my dad just goes "Fine be the first to get shot at." Excuse me?! I'm doing this: not this: First of all I said it was more of a respect thing and my unit isn't attached to any air assault units. Meaning that I wouldn't be doing anything like that for a very looooong time after I'm done training. |
