I used only Hot tea and some Cold medicine. When it comes to Asthma, I just try to use some herb medicine.
It's almost the same as using remedies. |

Normally what I do when I have a sore throat with a mild headache is mix Alcohol (80 proof or more) in with a little bit of cold medicine. Not ALOT, just enough like maybe half a shot. That helps you sleep better, and the Alcohol cleans you out better.
Ear aches is something that I always had when I was a kid, mainly because of an ear tumor I had when I was 3. When you have an ear Ache, mix Petroleum jelly in warm water, then coat it on a cotten ball, then take a warm shower. The heat from the bath should soothe and melt excess earwax, and wipe the germs away, the Petroleum Jelly helps prevent the germs in the water to go into your ear. But mainly bedrest is the best thing for you. If you have a hard time talking, I normally drink non-sweet tea thats warmed up. It soothes the throat, but dosent help with the voice. Tea and Matzo Ball soup. That stuff works great. Other than that I just sleep. Sleep always helps best. |

Hmm that might be something I try when I get sick or get an ear ache next time. Niether my family or I have ever done our own family remedies that I know of. We usually use just soup and/or aspirin and plenty of bed rest.
And the tea sounds like it would be great for sore throats. I hope you get better soon! =P |

Well I'm currently sick with a cold. I had a bad sore throat, but I drank a home remedies tea and now it doesn't hurt (still don't have a voice though).
Do you guys have any home remedies? Do they actually work? Two home remedies are used in my home often. One is for an ear infection is crushing a little sprig of rue till the juices are loose and wrap it in a cotton ball and put it in your ear. This is suppose to help with ear aches. I haven't used this in a while so I don't remember if it works or not. Another one is a tea I've made in which I make a teach with spearmint and eucalyptus and letting it set for a bit, then I take out the herbs and add some powdered ginger till it turns the tea cloudy and lastly add some honey to it. This is what I used for my sore throat and it works so well. We (my family and I) have more. I'm big on natural remedies. |
