Yeah that Malice Mizer song that Nagis posted is great!
Also has anyone ever heard of this band? |

Malice Mizer is great. I need some more of their stuff.
I might as well check out Gackt as well, now that I'm here. (EDIT: Search not going well!) |

Originally posted by Nagis I forgot to mention Malice Mizer. I'm far more partial to Gackt as a vocalist. Klaha is cool. But Gackt's voice is stronger and has more range. Illuminati is my favorite song by them. Edit: I decided to include the PV. |

Ahhh. I was big on Jrock in High School.
I was really into: L'arc en Ciel Gackt (I count him as jrock) Dir en Grey Miyavi Gazette Alice Nine and all the other mainstream big name jrock groups. I've had the pleasure of seeing Dir en Grey live twice. They were amazing. Dir en grey has changed over the years. There newer stuff is ALOT harder. If you want more melody and complex instruments, I'd check there older stuff. |

MELT BANANA!
I can't believe nobody's mentioned them yet. They're a noise rock band (like Primus, but with more guitar than bass and female vocals). They tour in the US a lot so I really want to see them. Also, Merzbow is an industrial/noise project that's been around for 30 years, and is vaguely within the confines of 'music', which is why it's awesome. There's also a metal band called Sigh. Their myspace has some pretty impressive songs. |

You guys would probably like Galneryus. Japanese power metal with english vocals.
A lot of Boris fans out there, but I haven't tried them out yet. X-Japan ... I thought I'd like them, but I really didn't like the few albums I checked out from them so I don't know. |

Japanese music sucks. The only good bands to come out of Japan are, of course, The Pillows, and Bassium. |

Awesome! I'm always looking for some new Japanese bands' music to get into and I keep hearing really good things about Dir En Gray so I'll check that out. Along with some of the other ones you listed as well.
Did you get into Japanese music because of watching the endings and beginnings of anime shows as well as the ones that your friend showed you? That's how I did lol. |

*stomps foot, cracking the Earth*
Graaaaaa! Hajimeyo! I got into Jrock from my pal. She's registered here, but never posted. Anyway, I then got into some Jpop as well thanks to anime, and yeah. List of bands (with stars to indicate my preference of them), go! -Gazette ***** -Nightmare ***** -Alice Nine **** -An Cafe **** -Maximum the Hormone ***** -Dir En Gray ** -Malice Mizer ***** -Phantasmagoria *** -High and Mighty Color *** -Miyavi ** -gossip ** -Deathgaze * -SID *** -X Japan ** -Morning Musume ***** -Round Table **** -Orange Range **** -Hirano Aya **** -Bunch of single Jpop songs from artists. ***** *nod* This is the taller tower in my field of music. The Power Metal tower is in it's shadow, with Gamma Ray, Helloween, etc, running it. PS: Forgot the third tower, VG Music. |

I couldn't see any threads here about this so I though I might post something about it.
My favorite Japanese band that rivals even my love for metal bands like Luca Turilli, Dragonforce, Ensiferum, etc. is called Camino. I first heard them play at Sakuracon's (anime convention) free yearly concert and I bought their album called I.C. Brain right afterwards. Even got it signed by the band members. =D Along with pictures lol. I like other bands like T.M. Revolution, L'arc~en~Ciel, and Nami Tamaki. I'd post some videos from youtube about them but the computer I'm on for the weekend is really bad and slow. ^^jjj So I'll do that once I get to the computer I'm usually on. Does anyone else like Camino or any Japanese bands whether they're metal, soft rock or anything else? |
