See I would be great at a bookstore or game store. I know stuff like that and would enjoy working there it is just that they are not really within a safe biking distance |

After I get out of school I'm gonna apply for Borders, Top Food and Drugs, or Costco. Best Buy just isn't giving me any hours. Unless they hire me to full time. |

Yeah it may be hell but it is like the only store that is hiring that i can get to. |

I also been looking for a job but it has not been to good. I have to work around going to college and it has to be pretty close to my house seeing as I do not own a car yet. Kinda sucks. Subway is looking pretty good though. |

I've been wanting to quit TJ Maxx for a while now, the scheduling just... sucks.
I've been thinking of two places that I applied to: Play N Trade (Just opening this month) Castle Superstore (Adult Shop) I know, I know, the obvious choice should be the porno store, but.... I would like to get back in to gaming, somehow, someway. |

I've applied for several places as well, because I could REALLY use a job.
-Gamestop/EBGames -Lowes Foods -Chick-Fil-A -The nearby movie theater -Target -Kohls I also applied for Chilis, and I think I almost got the job...then the hiring guy revealed that I'd have to be 17. Unfortunately, I'm 16. I'll try that place later though. |

Heh, I've also applied for a few jobs... Not sure if anyone will know these shops though:
Woolworths (A general store really... Mainly focuses on children's toys and clothes, and electrical goods, usually entertainment.) Argos (Similar to Woolworths, only everything is done by a catalogue and it has a much larger choice) Two I'm possibly applying for: Game (Of course this is an antique furniture shop... If you didn't get the sarcasm, you deserve a face!) Gamestation (Yeah... Like Game should be, self explanitory. ) I finished the applications for Woolies and Argos, although I need to write a CV for Game, which my mum's helping me with. After I get a CV done, I might go around to some other places... Apply to loads more. Hopefully getting a job shouldn't be too difficult. Loads of shops are hiring for the upcoming Christmas periods. |

I'm working at McDonalds because it'll be great on my resume if I can stick it out for two years, but it by far is the shittiest job I could possibly have applied for. What I've heard about Circuit City (from various people and some who have went there from Best Buy) ... compared to Best Buy:
- Slower, easier going. - Better pay. I love how a lot of companies work like this, seriously. (Valvoline vs Jiffy Lube) Of course it could depend on your area too. Around here, Circuit City's aren't too popular, one went out of business a few months ago and Best Buy's just seem to keep growing. |

Originally posted by Nagis Same company. Crappy hours from what I heard, pay ain't great either. Better than working fast food, though. Also, $75/day and two days a week comes to $600/mo. More than I was getting working four days a week at Taco Bell and Martin's... Circuit City might be your best bet though. |

I've been job hunting for 2 years but worked in 3 different jobs and quit.
I'm currently applying to Game Stop in the Bronx so there's a chance that I may get the job in both areas of the Bronx. |

I am glad to hear that you went out and applied for a job and wish you the best of luck.
I know how hard it can be, especially with transportation issues. Anyways, I hope you manage to get one of those positions that you applied for. Circuit City would be an awesome job I think. |

Well I wish you the best of luck though it seems like since Circuit City is already complimenting you they've probably already made up their minds. Then again I don't wanna jinx you.
Anyways whichever one you get I know you'll do great at it. |

Yeah, shocked, no?
I applied at the following positions that were hiring. - Lifeway (Christian Book store) - Movie Stop - Game Stop - EB Games - Barns and Nobles - Circuit City But the main one that wanted me to fill out an application ASAP was Circuit City, the manager was really impressed with my Communication skills, regardless of my speech problem, and to him did not think it would effect my communication with the customers. Gamestop and EB is hiring for Seasonal, so that might be possiable. Lifeway Books already knew me, however they want me to work 2 days a week. However the pay will be 75 Bucks a day for Inventory. Not bad, I wish they would work me more than 2 days though. Movie stop isnt REALLY hiring, but the manager said they are having a hard time with schedules. So its a possibility. *Hopes* I get a job sometime soon, I'm more along the lines of leaning towards Circuit City. |
