Yeah it's pretty much mindless fun. Turn on a bunch of skulls or something for a challenge, even then you have too many respawns. |

The co-op is WAY too easy though. Me and my friend were owning on legendary in places I was finding difficult on heroic. |

Yeah, for me the most annoying thing were the Marines on the Warthog's turret. They only fire in bursts and take random breaks and stop firing every few seconds or so. Pretty annoying.
I think one thing that I can applaud Halo 3 for is the co-op, online and everything. Those were good times. |

Well I got that down... In fact, I've done it again. Stopped playing for a day, went back to it, oh dear, suddenly I rule.
I just took the mongoose with a rocket guy on, drove under it and kept moving so I was not dangerously close to a leg. Took it down in less than thirty seconds. I only played Halo CE a couple of days ago... The shotgun there only went about four metres infront... Ah, yeah, compared to Halo 2 and 3 it's huge I guess. Also, Halo is the only game I know that makes the enemies smarter AND your allies dumber when the difficulty goes up. |

The shotgun's range is actually pretty huge in the original Halo, compared to 2 and 3. So much that it's almost hilarious to see now.
Anyways, I played Halo 3 to death for about a month or so and now I can't go back to it (I blame CoD4). But regardless that I played it for quite awhile, I don't think it can touch the awesomeness that was Halo CE. The combat had drastically shifted from medium range (Halo CE) to close combat and there were WAY too many weapons that could kill people in one shot. I mean if the characters movement were a little faster, you'd probably have something equal to Quake in terms of just how "pointless" the gameplay can feel at times. I don't know. I'd say I was pretty good at 3 (highest skill level was 45), and maybe I'm baised because I was insane at the original, but Halo CE/PC is still superior in my opinion. I played that game for like a year straight, went to so many LAN parties I lost track and had so much fun with the hundreds of custom maps for the PC version. To me Halo 2 blew chunks. I'll just leave it at that. Anyways, your best bet with the giant Scarabs is to use vehicles for taking them down, then go in on foot and blow up the thing in the back. |

I can't shoot any of the legs any more, I'm clean out of ammo... And I can't find any pickups anywhere. Although that doesn't matter too much now... I got frustrated and turned it off without saving so I got to do a shit load of stuff again... |

To destroy it, shoot at the joints on it's legs. After getting all four, it goes "OW" and buckles, allowing you to jump on it.
Or, just get behind it, and shoot the "ass" of it, right above where you can enter. You knock that off, and you can shoot the core directly. And yeah, Halo 3 is kinda lame. I did online, but I was never into it. I mostly only played with friends. |

I know this is a bit of a bump, but can someone PLEASE tell me how to take that mother fucking walking tank thing down? I'm out of rockets, out of allies (Except for some useless fucking flyer things that don't do shit), the thing moves to much for me to find a decent way of getting onto it and every time I move out from under it's belly it fires a huge laser beam thing that kills me.
I keep getting radioed by some guy telling me to get inside it to destroy it, and it's pissing me off. He can't give me any clue on how to get into the damn thing, but he'll happily radio me every thirty seconds telling me to get into it, making me eventually want to smash my controller into the TV in the hope that the controller will smash through the hull of the damn tank! My opinion of the game so far: It is horrible... The AI (especially for team mates) is horrifyingly bad. My allies constantly run in and get themselves killed off incredibly early, leaving me alone to deal with large waves of enemies. The only good part of this is they leave large masses of assault rifle ammo which is the only weapon I can get to be affective most of the time. Also, whenever I'm in a vehicle such as the Warthog or the Mongoose, if I'm driving the guy shooting never shoots the things I need it to shoot, and if he's driving he always drives and stops at completely the wrong time, so we're quickly killed off. There was even a bit not too long before where I am where the driver drove into another ally. We weren't in battle or anything, so it wasn't like he couldn't wait an extra second for him to move, he just drove into him to continue. As in the last two games, the shotgun is useless unless you are within three metres of your target, and since most of the time when you'd want to use it there are to many enemies to get near them. Dying is really annoying because it sets you way too far back, and repeating stuff that I feel like I'm already repeating (Thanks to the fact it feels like I'm just playing Halo 1 again) is getting truely annoying. This was how I found out about the enemies' bad AI... It's so fucking repetitive. All I've had to do so far is learn the various waves of attack if I keep dying, then I'm set for going further in the level. Multiplayer, in a word, sucks. Me and my friends have recently started playing Halo 1 multiplayer a lot together, and playing Halo 3 in the same way just doesn't work... |

Yeah, nothing huge, but yes. |

So....did anyone else think the ending was lame? (Yes I watched the end of the credits too) The last level was fun. Especially with co-op. But the ending was disappointing.....
Is there a secret ending for beating it on legendary? |

I had a good time with H3 getting used to not using the X button to reload took quite a while .
Did anyone find the Grunt birthday party skull? it makes the game 1 million times better. |

I haven't had a chance to play Halo 3 yet, however a few of my friends have, and they say it's a good game, however it feels too much like Halo 2.
Also, one friend hates the little modification they made on the pistol from Halo 1... NO ZOOM!? WTF!? |

Graphics don't matter to me. Gameplay does. I played a little of Halo 3, and I was disappointed. It felt like Halo 2. In fact, it pretty much was, except with prettier graphics.
Meh; it's alright, I guess; I'm not gonna spend the money on it, though. |

Originally posted by Vulkar Finally someone points this out. At least nobody was comparing this game to Gears, that's gotta be the lamest arguement out there (I've been at GameFAQ's too much lately). Anyways, I think its a great game. It was epic, the plot came together very well, Campaign is actually fun this time unlike Halo 2's, co-op will be amazing once my friends start playing more, and online is great. But I hate Shotty Snipers. There's definitely a lack of maps too, but in time I'm sure custom games with Forge will be great. |

I played Halo 3 on saturday for a couple hours. I actually liked it a lot. The Forge mode was awesome, and I loved the gravity hammers. Also, the mongoose is really awesome. Best vehicle I have ever played.
Anyway, I think that it's not revolutionary, but it really doesn't need to be. Halo 2 was really awesome, and changing things too much would ruin the game. I like the feel of Halo 2, and I wouldn't like it leaving for Halo 3. As for graphics, you have to realize that Halo 3 loads an entire huge level all at once. That means probably over a mile in one load. That means every detail, every high quality explosion, soldier, texture, AI program, model, and cutscene all loaded at one time. If you ask me, that's a lot better than what Oblivion pulled off with its loadscreen every five minutes. |

Originally posted by Shuyin Meh. Graphics lately have been the only point brought up in defense of the PS3 as far as I've seen, and I'm really rather tired of it coming up... maybe that's just bitterness at only having a 13" TV, though. Back on topic though, I'll probably get Halo 3 when I get a 360. That will not be for a few months though... |
Shuyin Posts: 1531/1858 |
Curious, but have you actually see Ps3 in full HD? I'm not a sony fan boy, and I'm actually fiending for some H3.......but the graphics are not that spectacular. Face it.
The ps3 is in direct competition with xbox360. Regardless of when they were released, they're still being compared. Xbox 360 does have some better looking games, or at least on par with ps3 games. Hell, Gears of War looks better than this and that's on the same system. On another note: You can get Hayabusa armor when you collect the skulls. That is my main priority right now. |
