UPDATE.
Getting swamped with customers, and me being the only person on the floor really and totally sucks major assholes. True, tell your mom for me that I had the whole *Dings on coffee cup* "I WANT MORE FUCKING COFFEE GODAMNIT". She forgot to knock on wood, and she will pay for her actions. However I just cant see how every night I make like 55+ dollars in tips...(With a weekly paycheck of like...meh, 50+ bucks) |

So just got done with the orientation.
....Holy shit. Like, it was pretty normal, but overwhelming for me. Seen how Im being Cross-trained, they gave me two thick ass booklets. One for host (Which thats what Ill be starting out as for 2 weeks.) and one for Grill Operator (Which Ill be training on that, and they plan on letting me out of training a few weeks before Christmas.) Like the only problem I have right now is the abbreviations, calling out orders, and writing down orders "The Waffle House way". I also have to take a test every day on how much I know about the foods they serve there, as well as list the prices. I have to get an 80% or higher, or else Ill be packing my shit. So alot of studying is on my way pretty soon. And Jerald, my boss, told me if I stick around for 6 months, I could be trained as a manager, and I can go to school for free. Which is good news for me I suppose, so if I work hard, study hard, and do good on my jobs, Ill be taking charge of 60 (Holy shit) hours a week. But yeah, im tierd, Stressed out a little bit, but im sure I can pull through so long as I keep my ass in Gear. Busides, its good money in Tips and Bonuses this coming holidays. So it will reflect how im doing coming soon. Did I mention someone needs to get a gun and shoot me? |

The only thing that will bug me is the marking system, but its not as overwhelming as learning 18 doors and 42 passageways at Disney's Splash Mountain, thats for damn sure. But My Aunt works there, and she told me that the holidays are hectic, which I know, I worked there 2 years ago as a Host. Reason why I quit was because of the workers there treating me like shit, but they are fired for stealing money from the register. But yeah, thats the only bad thing about working there, but im used to it, I have good work Ethnic. And Fennicy, right now im not totally sure, Tuesday I have to go into an orientation, watch movies, learn from the book, and do practice cooking. Then I have to learn Prep work for 2nd shift, and for 3rd shift, learning how to keep up the pace. Thats about it, so right now, as a schedule comes along, Training will be the mornings, and after Training will be 2nd shift, which Ill basicially be cooking 10% of the time, Prep work 50%, and 40% bullshiting around. |

Well congrats to you! And I'm pretty sure they're gonna need all the full time help that they can get during the holidays.
The tips sure sound like they'd make up for being part time for a little while.
What hours are you gonna be working? During the day, night, mornings? |

Sounds like good news. I think I've heard both good and bad stories about Waffle Houses, but I guess we'll find out? At least its something you enjoy doing (cooking right?) |

So today I was called in, did the phone test, and completed the run-down. But what I diddnt know is that I have to go to an orientation...Ah well, I get paid by the hour. Another bad thing is that Ill be working, at the start, part-time. Which I was not expecting to do that, but with the lack of Cooks at Waffle house, im sure Ill be getting some calls asking for me to come in. Ill be trained for a month by a really nice guy named Gerald, I talked to him for awhile and he said that he will run me into Full time sometime during the holidays. So thats all good. Starting pay is 7.15 an hour. Plus a bonus if I can cook more than the average. But for 24 hours a week, its not that bad... So congrats to me. Edit- Oh yeah, and Ill be cross-trained to be a server as well, and they make really good tips. (Like 60 bucks worth a day) So maybe that will cover for it? |
