THREE MORE DAYS! Yeah, I am joining more for the technical training, and less for the PT. I never liked physical activity, so that part is not going to be fun no matter how hard I try to make it fun.

meh You're going to do fine. Consider this. I joined the army for many reasons, one of them is PT. Not as hard as Marines but just as harder than Air Force.

Four more days, just finished the last of the paperwork I needed before tuesday, and I will be able to pass the pushups and situps without too much trouble, the swim should be fairly easy too (I think I was a fish in a past life), my biggest concern is the run, as I am making good progress with the pullups. But my run times and stamina havn't really improved much over the last two months. Just hope that I will have an easier time with more people running... and that really inspiring sound of my Company Commander screaming at me the entire time.

Ooh ooh! You're going to be a veteran of the bored like me! I left for BCT and still came back. XD ANYWAY. I came back before my time in BCT ended. That was because I was on E-Leave. =_=; note to self... QUALIFY RIGHT BEFORE BAD NEWS! It works! Believe me.

Thanks, and down to six more days. Went in yesterday, and took care of the last of the paperwork I needed before the tuesday I ship out. It will won't be until around christmas that I am able to return to the forums... man, I have to say though, the last couple months have passed really quickly.

So wait, you joined the Coast Guard? Well, at least it's better than the Navy. I hope you do well in training, I know I couldn't do it.

holy crap Coast Guard? I don't specialize in that. I went through 9 weeks of basic combat training for the Army Reserves. PT is something you absolutely have to gain the discipline to do it. O.o I DO know that Coast Guard training happens to be a bit more rigorous than Army pt. Because Army expects us to be athletes. =_=

The USCG Recruit Training Center in Cape May, New Jersey. Only two months, if I can pass all the physiscal requirements, which is the part I am most concerend about. Spent nineteen years as a couch potatoe, and have spent the last two months working to get into shape. After I get out, it is off to the USCG Training Center in Two Rock, CA. just outside Petaluma about one hour north of San Fran for six months. Then another five and a half years fixing electronics on board some cutter somewhere (Not sure where I will be for this part, but you never do this far ahead right).

Well, that time is almost here. That time when a young boy branches out and becomes a man... That's right Boot Camp, that camp where for the next eight weeks I will have a combat Boot perpetually Camped up my ass. I ship out in ten days, an I though I would ask for some advice from anyone who has been there on how to survive the following eight weeks... that and set this up with a countdown till my departure.
