For the record, I didn't really give a flying fuck when Anna Nicole died. It's the people that give something good to the world that I mourn. Heath Ledger was a good actor, a damn good actor. He wasn't some arrogant bastard that lived in Beverly Hills, ignored his fans, and made huge spectacles. He was down to earth, kind to his fans and neighbors, and really pretty normal for a successful Hollywood actor. On top of all of that, he was only 28 years old. That is too early to go, it really is; and it brings my own mortality closer into focus.

It wasn't that surprising that Anna Nicole died because she was known to do stupid shit like drug binges... just like no one would be shocked if Britney Spears died tomorrow. But no one saw Heath's death coming.

As for those Westboro assholes, they can go fuck themselves. But to correct Nagis, as far as I know both characters had wives but both turned out gay.

[rant]Fuckers like those Westboro assholes piss me the fuck off. This isn't a rant/attack against any specific religiom or anything...just THOSE bastards. People like that insult me. I'm not the most devote Christian in the world, but I know my academics and thus, I have achieved an understanding of the Bible that I've noticed fucktards like them don't seem to get. My own opinions on homosexuality aside, the bible does NOT say it is wrong to BE gay. It says its wrong to commit gay ACTIONS. So the Bible is a good source if one is going to say that's why THEY'RE against homosexual actions and why they chose not to act that way. That's fine. It's an individual's opinion, and they're not hurting anybody simply by holding that opinion. However, what the Bible DOES command is that we are not to pass judgement. No one is perfect, and this so called "god" they're fighting for like this, makes known in the Bible that he is just as unhappy with those who pass judgement, taking over HIS job for him, as he would be with, say, someone who commits a homosexual act.[/rant]

I know that was off topic, and I am always willing for other opinions when I decide to open my mouth on a controversial topic. So, in order for this not to turn into a debate, I welcome PMs if I am wrong about anything...

And the whole being sad about the Heath Ledger thing...Like Elara and others have said, it's just saddening when things like that happen to anyone...but...I'm human. I'm not going to ruin my own life by allowing myself to mourn for every death, since death occurs every seconds. But the ones that are brought to my attention can not be ignored.

It's not just that, but the whole fussing over celebrity thing...I always saw it as this; I'm still alive. There are certain things that I am used to in my life that I hold on to. Most, if not all, humans are like this. When something we know is gone, we're kinda like "Woah..."

I'm a bit disappointed about Heath's deaths. He may have not been a super famous actor, but I like some of things he did. "A Knights Tale", for example, is a movie I thought he was good in. I'm suprised somebody has seen "Roar". That's a show most people here probably didn't even know existed. I've only seen several episodes, and while it wasn't a great as "Hercules" I enjoyed having it on in the background while I was sitting my computer during several nights a few years back, going to Xeogaming and other boards. To me he just seemed to fit into the medieval roles. I liked him as an actor, so it's a bit of a shame he is now gone. He also wasn't in tabloids or the news that often which, to me, indicates he was staying out of trouble as far as drugs and partying go. Or maybe he was good at keeping thing under the radar. Whatever the case, I hope that he didn't have a drug problem, but I have my doubts.

I admit that his death is sad, and I think that anyone dying is bad, regardless of who it is, but I have one comment like Ryans...

Why is it that you can really hate a person when he's alive, and as soon as he's dead, you have all this respect and sadness for his or her loss? It's not just Heath Ledger(in fact, probably not him much as all, sicne he was a good actor), but a lot of different celebrities.

As a better example, look at Anne Nicole Smith. Everyone hated her, and then the news showed her as a hero, soon after she died.

It makes no sense to me...

I've got no beef with Baptists. The Westboro God Hates Fags campaingers, though.

These zealots actually protest military funerals believing that soldiers should be killed off to illustrate God's wrath over America's growing acceptance of homosexuality.

As one proud "fag enabler" (as they refer to people like me), I hope they all rot.

EDIT: Time for a celebration of life.

I'd say all of us should go see the movie "The Dark Knight" when it comes into theaters in honor of this good man.

I know I will.

Supposedly Heath had been having trouble sleeping while working on several movies lately, most specifically the latest Batman flick. Various media outlets had reported in interviews with him that he was only sleeping 2 hours a night.

When they found him there was a bottle of sleeping pills next to him.

No one know for sure if it was an accident, suicide or what.

And in answer to Ryan, this isn't a matter of going, "OH SHIT! A celebrity died! We're gonna go on a rampage now because it was someone famous, boo hoo hoo." Heath Ledger was somewhat top of his game right now and it was shocking to hear that he was just suddenly gone.

There's a big movie that a lot of people are going to see, The Dark Knight and one of the stars isn't even going to be alive to see it premiere.

Take it like Princess Diana or someone else famous over there just suddenly dying. You might not love them or be a fan, but it's just, whoa.

I use Princess Di because most Americans could not understand why we were getting news reports of how upset the British were over her early departure. Maybe you know.

EDIT: And in an ultimate stab toward douche-baggery the Westboro Baptist Church people are going to picket his funeral:

All deaths are important to people. If I hear about someone dying like that I feel sad, it's just more often that we hear about celebrity deaths because they live in the spotlight. It is really sad that he died, though I have to ask "why is it always a drug overdose?"

I'm gonna sound like a right dick for this post, but I don't really care all that much.

To tell you the truth, I've never even heard of the actor. That isn't my reason for not caring though... It's the fact people get all upset when someone who's well known dies. If it was some random person who died, it'd be their family and friends who would care, that'd be about it. Once a celebrity dies, it's friends, family, aquaintances, fans, random people, and sometimes even people who didn't know him all that well, although this isn't one of those times for me...

I can't see the point in celebrity deaths being so important to people...

I suddenly remembered that prior to Heath's big break he used to do a show on Fox called "Roar" that I used to watch when it was still on the air (like most Fox shows, it was canceled and forgotten).

I'm not tearing up or anything, but still to think that yet another taken-long-before-his-time actor has gone down, it's a bit depressing.

If there was anyone I thought wasn't going to die early, it was Heath Ledger. I don't know what it's going to be like to see Batman Begins now.

Yeah, when I went to check on my mail on AOL.com just now and that flashed on as the lead headline, I was in absolute shock. People all over the computer lab are even talking about it right now.

Seriously, I'm just blown away.

And Brad Renfro died exactly a week ago. I found that one downright insane too, especially when I had just thought about throwing in "Tom and Huck" that weekend and then I wondered what he might be doing these days.

EDIT: LiveJournal already has a whole bunch of macros going around. This one, I'm almost ashamed to say, made me smile for a second:
