Farewell, Colin. I love ya, bro.
Taken from the Asbury Park Press website in New Jersey: "WALL — A father and son from Wall were killed early this morning in a two-vehicle accident in Stafford County, Va., and the other son is in critical condition, authorities said. Killed were Peter W. Baubles, 64, and Colin M. Baubles, 21, Virginia State Police Sgt. Terry S. Luce said. Peter Evan Baubles was air-lifted to Washington Hospital Center, in Washington, D.C., according to Virginia State Police Sgt. Les Tyler. The extent of his injuries remains unknown at this time, Luce said. Peter W. Baubles and Colin Baubles were pronounced dead at the scene of the 1:45 a.m. crash, Luce said. The father was driving a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am that crashed into the rear of a tractor trailer at mile marker 146 on Interstate 95, Luce said. The cause of the accident remains unknown and is being investigated by Patrolman J.C. Jeanty, Luce said. Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department responded to the scene, as well as the Office of Medical Examiners, Luce said. Condolences and prayers also may be expressed in Eulogies." I hope that my words can reach you Colin, even though I'm expressing them on an indiscriminate messageboard in cyberspace: Even though we never really hung out, I've always admired and respected you, Colin. You and I had a lot of fun, and you stood up for me when I needed your support. Even though were a jock, you respected me a person, which was more than anyone else from the football team ever did for me. I never got a chance to say goodbye when I moved away, and now that you're gone, I will never live down the regret I feel. Goodbye, my friend. May you find peace and rest wherever you may be now. |
