I have 256 MB of RAM and a 1.2 Ghz processor. Mine runs just fine, and it has not been shut off in the past month. Though I still perform check ups with it, defragments, programs, etc. |

My computer is technically "on" all the time, if you count the fact that it's just hibernated when I'm not using it. The state at which stuff is being used is just captured and suspended until I "boot" it up again.
The only computer I leave on all the time is my work computer, and that one has 2 GB of memory with a 3.2 GHz Intel Duo-Core. |

I'm really glad the memory has been cut since I like to run Firefox with iTunes or something like that and on my older computers it really used to drag on the memory. Especially since I would leave my computer on for days or weeks at a time. |

Haha, nice. The memory use still seems to hit higher numbers after awhile, but it certainly looks like it's been cut in half at least compared to FF2. Either way, it doesn't really bother me personally. Firefox is all I ever use. |

Speaking of memory stability, some guy created a tool that tracks memory usage across five major browsers and found that FF3 is actually the better choice when compared to IE8:

I went to the site to look for an add on a realized that 3 was out and downloaded it in an instant. I love how when your typing in a address it gives you the pictures next to the URL's... I mostly use the bookmark toolbar though.
As far as Add-Ons go I think I only couldn't add a few and they were mostly themes. I have a theme on that I really like though. Also Add block Plus is a great one. It blocks those banner adds from loading. |

I find This little add-on quite amusing.
Though Java hates my computer, so I can only run half of it. Its still good though. |

They fixed the memory leak thing that was happening in FF2, so now it doesn't take up as much memory as it did before. I have mine on all day, and I'm averaging 56MB as opposed to the 300MB I just to incur before the memory leak was fixed.
It doesn't take that long to start up for me, but if you think about it, IE starts up faster because it's integrated into Windows. Also, if you're worried about pages that only support IE, Firefox has an add-on for IE called IE-tab. It renders pages using the IE engine so you never have to leave Firefox except for those really stubborn pages that just have to have authentic IE. For some reason, though, my computer never liked running IE. I have more trouble in IE than I've ever had with Firefox. After downloading the updates and changing the theme to match Thunderbird, I love Firefox 3. It is faster, it doesn't incur much memory allocation (again that memory leak fix), and it seems to have become more intuitive to the standard surfing experience. That, and Firefox is my browser of choice because of its add-ons. I have several tools that I need for work installed in Firefox that I couldn't otherwise find for IE. And, I hate Microsuck. |

You know, someday, I might actually leave Internet Explorer...but I've never really liked Firefox, it takes long to bring up, and you can't leave up windows for a long time without it taking up memory.
Internet Explorer has never done that for me... So, I'm not going to switch yet. |

I just downloaded it, but so far I'm not noticing any big differences. Only some pages load fast.
Though I haven't tried downloading anything yet, or any customization if may just be that I'm weird like that. |

Its killing this junk of my computer, but it does feel alot better than it has before, I will give it that.
The only problem is that FF3 is just taking up so much memory on my computer, but then again, I really need to update here pretty soon to a much more reliable comp. This should happen eventually. Other than that, this is the best thing since the invention of the wheel. |

Firefox 3 is pretty sweet.... <3 |

lol, yeah. Well you can right click that toolbar, then to go "Customize" and select the "Use Small Icons" option to revert it back to a more normal size.
Overall, I'm loving how much faster it loads pages and everything. I'm also able to browse normally again while running some torrents. Even downloads seem faster now too and I like the notice in the bottom right corner: "3 active downloads (10 minutes remaining)", pretty cool. I haven't really messed with any add-ons again yet, but this one sounds pretty cool. Can apparently save Youtube videos and videos from sites like it: DownloadHelper. Supposedly works for galleries and other things too. |

Got it this morning.
Still haven't gone through the new features yet, but you can't help but notice the extra large Back button. |

It's like web browsing sex!
... or something! (that link is totally safe. Download the browser there) But seriously. It's awesome. Lots of great new features, pages and everything runs much smoother and faster than before, the whole new bookmark features and everything are awesome, it's just epic. If you're using earlier versions, it overwrites them, but it'll keep all your preferences, passwords, bookmarks, quicklinks, etc. Though some Ad-On's might not work. The only one I had that still works is DownThemAll, I'm sure some will be tuned up for FF3 though. |
