I believe that they are indeed celebratory but I can't find out for sure. I know that, little coin collector that I am, I will snatch at least one of each when they come out but after that who really cares? |

Are these gonna be limited edition, or permanent? The temporary event coins I've never liked. Saw them as a waste of time.
Although a while back now, somewhat recently Canada changed bills. Our bills are apparently more counterfeit proof now, and look nicer. |

Why not? They've made a new 10, 5 and 20. Quarter came a bit earlier. Who knows, by 2020 we may see Bush's face on the Nickel. |

EDIT: I should add, though, that due to trust funds and social security it can be counted as less than that. Still, a new penny? The hell? |

So the U.S. economy is in the tank, but seriously when isn't it? Economies rise and fall as is their nature, trouble is it's gotten to the point that our generation is going to have to pay higher interest rates on loans and such to pay it back.
Score! But just when you thought it couldn't get any better, the U.S. is going to unveil their newest mint-y creation--a new PENNY (street value of a whopping ONE CENT). The new coin will commemorate the 100th anniversary of Lincoln's first appearance on the penny as well as the 200th anniversary of his birth. It cost $0.08 to mint each one of these bad boys. Huzzah!
