Gods people are so touchy nowadays. I bet you there were more complaints about the interruption than from anything Conan said. ... COLLISIONS!!!! Oh shit, the censors are gonna get me!! *runs* |

Maybe not, but it may get them to shut up for a while. |

Originally posted by Stitch I think NBC needs to get laid so they relax their asses a bit. But how funny would it be if Conan interrupted one of their news broadcasts to tell people why the station was a moron for believing he was making fun of the train crash? |

Apparently Conan was madder about this than previously realized.

Haven't heard anything from the Accidentes guy in a while. It's more Jacoby & Meyers. Amazingly Larry H. Parker's staying out of it, but he keeps wheeling out his traveling freak show of workers' comp cases with they're "Larry Park got me $2.1 million... deerrrrrrr."
I'd write them a letter, but that'd accomplish nothing. |

Haha, is that 222-2222 accident guy doing it too?
Anyway, NBC needs to lay off their whole censoring shit. If I wanna watch and do things about a train collision, well, then, dammit I will. Just like talking about how the new freedom tower is going to obscure the new skyline view. But, that was fiction. |

Yeah, that would be pretty annoying, but I doubt the news interrupted Pokemon to say, "Pikachu is saying something that vaguely sounds like a reference to Sept. 11. That's just not right."
But that does remind me of the week that followed 9/11. You couldn't watch anything on television because it was all news, all the time, with constant replays of the second plane hitting the second tower. |

Wow, that was pretty stuipid. I would've gotten mad about that happening. It's just like the time I was watching an episode of PokeMon when suddenly the news interrupts to show footage from the first attack in Kosovo. |

OK, as I mentioned in another thread, L.A. had a trainwreck on Sept. 12 (resulted in 25 deaths and over 100 injured).
Conan O'Brien, a couple nights ago, was doing a bit on the Large Hadron Collider and used words like "colliding" and "smash stuff together." Not long into the bit, as it was shown in L.A., KNBC interrupted it explaining that they felt it inappropriate that he was talking about "trains crashing" (seriously, the anchor had this uppity look on her face about it) and then to "distract" us she starts talking about McCain's speech on the economy. AGAIN, Conan was in no way discussing trains, and the accident happened TWO weeks ago. Defamer has a video of it here: Link I might add that you can't turn on a TV in Los Angeles right now without getting ads for lawyers claiming they want to represent you if you were involved in the accident. |
