As far as I know women are still barred from the front lines... even though we really don't have those in this war as far as I can tell.
You just be careful out there, I've just finished a section in my class on women in the military and I know that they can have some difficult times out there (Queen for a year stuff). I hope you have a good time and that you get what you want out of it. |

This tour in Afghanistan is completely voluntary. I was told that I could go with a LINE unit. So I thought that the experience with a line unit would work out. I know that I will be going onto convoys and what not, but this is mainly a journey for me. I need to grow up a bit and this can help me out. I know for DAMN sure I won't be on the front lines but I will be supporting them through my commo job.
Like I said before I am doing this mainly for me, and this is the "wisest" decision that I can make. So I will bring plenty of pictures and try to get to my journal as much as I can. From what I hear I will go through some hardships, how ever I need this... I really do. So I'm not regretting my decision. Understand that I am with a Transportation Company, so I would leave with a TC to begin with. So I know how much danger I am getting myself into. So yeah... I won't get myself killed. This isn't my time. =P |
