I beat the first game, I bought the second game and played it at my girl's house. From the little bit I played I really liked it, I gotta get back into it...

I was a huge fan of the first game and this was seriously one of my most anticipated sequels and damn, I've gotta say that I'm not let down at all.

FEAR 2 is a straight up traditional FPS and totally linear, but the gameplay and all the perks to the series truly make it something else. It's usually pretty hard to freak me out when it comes to horror videogames and I didn't really think the first FEAR was that scary at all but wow, they've really taken it up a notch with the sequel here. The weird effects they do and everything are very impressive. I've also seen the first level several times and each time, the Alma/scary parts have been totally different, so it's not scripted at all or anything.

A big complaint for the first game was that the environments were a bit stale and repetitive (didn't bother me personally though), but the settings in the sequel so far are incredibly detailed and diverse. I've seen a few glitches here and there, but the new engine is really awesome and the graphics are amazing.

The game takes place directly after the first so I'd only recommend it if you played the first. If you have and enjoyed it, you absolutely need to play this.

Haven't tried online yet.
