Couldn't go to E3 this year.

It was free for an exhibitor's pass for me this year, based solely on my having a webcomic now.

But, I couldn't take the time off for the trip down.

Next year, maybe. I miss E3.

I never said anything about the Fall of Reach, lol. Halo: Reach is still going to be about Reach being destroyed, tht's confirmed.

And how did Halo 2 make First Strike uncanon? It's been advertised at bridging the gap between them, so I'm pretty sure that it's considered part of the official story...

You're still confusing me, lol. I don't think it's been officially stated that Halo: Reach is going to be based off the Fall of Reach book. It very well could be, with that title and all, but I don't think we really know anything about it except the name right now.

And the books are just better in general ... First Strike would've made a much better Halo 2, and then Halo 2 pretty much made the book uncanon.

Well, Halo: The Fall of Reach had a lot more about his earlier life and how he grew up to be a Spartan. I just think that Halo: Reach, the story of a planet being destroyed when it is found by an evil force could make a better movie than game.

I mean, seriously, as far as plots go, Halo: Reach isn't going to be a happy ending. It's going to have the player try hard to save Reach, and then, in the end, fail. I'm just a bit skeptical as to how it'll feel to play a game with that ending.

So, does anyone else think that Halo: Reach would have been better as a movie? Seriously, it's got great action, an awesome yet sad story, and it probably could have been pulled off much better than any of the games.

I'm not sure if this is what you intended, but it sounds like you're suggesting the game is based off Fall of Reach, I'm not sure if that's ever been officially said though...?

To be fair Vulkar at least the sequels this year are actually good, unlike the bollocks we got dished last year.

Seriously can't wait for most of these games to come out. 'specially Left 4 Dead 2 and New Super Mario Bros Wii

Amazing how all the games you listed there are all sequels...

That said though, I think it was an awesome E3, and I'm definitely looking forward to a lot of these games.

I'm quite late, but I just spent the last couple hours reading everything I could about E3 this year.
This is the gist of what I found that relates to me at all.

Now there's plenty of other stuff, especially first person shooters that I didn't list, but yeah.

That's quite a batch. Natal and the Sony motion controller look AMAZING. But do we have any idea when that will be out?

God so many things I can't wait for.

Interesting fact about the Wii though, despite being one of Nintendo's weaker systems in my opinion, it's the first console of theirs to have a Mario game with a direct sequel since the SNES, with SMW and SMW2, the Wii's example being SMG and SMG2. Also the first console that'll even have two Metroid titles on it.

And I CAN'T WAIT for the Prime Trilogy, going through MP1-MP2 with Wii controls will be excellent. Supposedly they're doing some touch ups like anti-aliasing and upping the lighting effects and whatnot. All on one disc, that's just awesome. Just gotta buy a Wii again.

Which is very exciting.......maybe they'll make a new smash bros. for the wii. =3

That's also another thing though, I mean could you point out an example of good storytelling from Team Ninja?

Also from what I heard some other third party is involved and the staff for the game is like over 100 people, so that can be both good and bad. And kind of like with the Prime series, supposedly Nintendo will definitely have big watchful eyes over the project, so yeah.

I hate to doubt it, like I did with the original Prime before it blew my pants off, but yeah ... it's just like, the last developer you'd expect to work on Metroid.

In their defense, DoA doesn't count, it's a fighting game. Ninja Gaiden, does it really matter? XD "Demons being resurrected? Oh, okay, who cares, let's have amazing gameplay now" is basically how Gaiden runs down for me.

Besides, I'm sure Nintendo will have SOME say in the story. They wouldn't just dump one of their prime series would they?

I'm pretty excited for it, I hope to see a badass Metroid game come out of it. Sort of random, though. Why Team Ninja?

And Metroid has always been about subtle storytelling (ie: Most games have next to no dialogue, side from the Prime games) and most of the stuff is up to your imagination. So I just ... really don't want them to try too hard and make this overblown or anything like that.

I doubted Prime though before it was out and it turned out to be one of my favorite games, so who knows.

Also weird fact about Samus that I heard recently, she's apparently like 6'4 and ~200 some lbs. Makes sense though, built like a machine probably ...

WHAAAT!?!!?!?!?!? I've never been the biggest metroid fan, even though ZSS is my favorite character in brawl. But I'm a big fan of Ninja Gaiden and DOA so this should be reallllly interesting.

I wonder if they're going to give her the same..um..'physics' as the DOA girls. But... she's wearing that suit. Hm.....

Linky.

You can probably catch the trailer at Gametrailers or something.

It's being developed by Team Ninja, so ... I have no idea what to think of that.

Oh...then it that case I am insanely jealous. My Wii can't play JPN games and even if I wanted, importing that game is expensive as hell.

I had my wii modded when Brawl came out in Japan.

....and i downloaded TvC....shhhh don't tell anyone . I'm definitely buying the US one though...that's fair, right?

I'm thinking quite the opposite. If it's as good as the demo suggests, this is far better then the wiimote. They might actually be able to make real games that don't make the motion sensor seem like a gimmick.

But then maybe with the Motion+ attachment coming out for the Wii, which is obviously what Sony is trying to counteract here, the same will happen with the Wii.

My main issue with it is that it's an odd peripheral to come out for the PS3. While the Wii, with its software development kits and whatever are built for Wiimote use, Sony's will need modifying, and will require programmers to do further learning of the code which I heard was already awkward for most developers to get into the swing of.

But still, wait and see I 'spose.
