And while at Comic Con, David Tennant himself said that he was not going to be playing Bilbo Baggins and rumors like that need to stop. Said during his Doctor Who panel on Sunday morning. |

Supposedly, at Comic-Con this past weekend, Peter Jackson started out a panel saying he wanted to clear up any and all rumors regarding The Hobbit. He said the film hasn't even been greenlit yet and with that, any casting that's being discussed is all rumor because they can't go offering anyone any parts yet.
Here's one of the articles on it: http://scifiwire.com/2009/07/sdcc-peter-jackson-clears.php Still would be kinda interesting to see who lands what when casting does finally start. |

Vulkar, dude... David Tennant is a superb actor, who has done all sorts of other things. He isn't just the tenth doctor, y'know. I'm certain he could play the part.
Although I'd be laughing my ass off if they play a joke by having a blue police box hidden somewhere in the film. |

He was in one of the Harry Potter movies, though. And, nowadays, any actor can either bulk up for the part or wear the necessary costuming pieces to fit the part.
I think it would be a good fit for him. |

Honestly, I really hope not...Sure, David Tennant is good as the Doctor, but he's not only too muscular to play Bilbo, but too cheery as well. Reading the book, you might notice that Bilbo almost never cracks a smile, especially in the last half of the book. |

I'm crossing my fingers.
Also, Sir Ian McKellen and Christopher Lee are reprising their roles as Gandalf and Saruman, respectively. |
