Sigourney Weaver appeared on a French program where she gave a few mini-spoilers about Avatar 2: http://www.avatar-lesfilms.com/home.php?page=videospecials3 |

Apparently the hot thing to drop on YouTube right now is summary videos entitled, "Avatar in 5 seconds." As expected half of them say they were inspired by Guy With Glasses.
Commenting on the subtext of the storyline: Trying desperately to have the blending element of Guy With Glasses: Commenting on James Cameron's blockbuster success: Avatar in 8 seconds: Taking us back to '99: And, lastly, who knew the blue hair raping peeps were that easy to kill? And of course the how it should have ended vids: This one came first: The one actually posted by How It Should Have Ended (note the similar end joke): And there are even worse ones up. Yeah... |

HURRY, you must see it in theaters! |

Yeah, I still haven't seen it. I probably will eventually. I'd heard the "hair rape" thing from watching the video.

Wow, that image will be giving me nightmares now.
It's not really hair rape, Rogue. The Navi have a kind of neural connector in their hair that they basically use to link with other things, such as the horse and bird things they ride. It lets them give the animal directions by just thinking. |

Further coverage of Avatar-induced depression:
Now admittedly, I've kinda gone "Awww... sucks we don't live on Middle Earth or have superpowers" and I have gotten a bit bummed that politics and many other things don't work out like in the movies, but I've never seen something and went, "Damn, my life has no meaning now." Sort of reminds me of the my American studies professor saying one of his students dumped her boyfriend because she realized she could never have the deep relationship Edward and Bella have in the Twilight franchise. |

People are suicidal because this fictional world isn't real: http://www.cnn.com/2010/SHOWBIZ/Movies/01/11/avatar.movie.blues/index.html
Pardon me while I laugh hysterically for a week. EDIT: Apparently there's also a LiveJournal community for people who wish they were the blue cat people. A post by one of its members:
P.S. What's this I hear about hair raping for transportation? |

I saw it. Fuck the plot complaints. I felt like I was seven years old watching Star Wars. I'd see it again without hesitation.
Xeo: I think this movie will do just fine outside of theaters. Sure, it won't be AS epic, but the visuals and the story will hold up just fine. I know I'm definitely going to pick it up. Also, it fits in eerily well with the Blu-ray movement. |

It won't be the same but I don't think it would be bad. However, I would definitely see it in theaters at least once for the full effect. |

Nice.
Though I still fear this'll mainly be an awesome theater-only movie, probably won't be the same on a smaller home TV. But I guess I've said that before and been proved wrong... who knows! |
