Definitely getting better day by day... I think, it really hurts like hell if I move wrong or whatnot. I'm starting to wonder if I'll even want to go into school early this week, guess we'll see.

Was actually able to eat yesterday though. Feeling pretty normal today again too. Walking more too, but yeah the pain... I hope it's going alright and I haven't done anything crazy.

I will finally get to shower tomorrow. , then I've got to pull off this padding and I guess the rest of the stuff on there is dissoluble stitches that will be on there for about 2 weeks or something from what I remember them saying.

I think I mentioned I thought this hernia was giving me other complications? Because I have got to tell you guys, it feels like I have an entirely new stomach altogether. Even physically my entire lower stomach is flatter and feels so much better. I go in on the 10th for a checkup with the surgeon so I'll probably get some details then, I want to assume this hernia was moving a lot around but my mom said the surgeon said everything went perfectly and didn't mention anything was out of place. Pretty weird, but I'm so glad this seems to have fixed a lot more like I was hoping.

It's seriously just really weird. I thought it was some fat under my belly button, but it looks completely different now. This is a bit above where the hernia really poked out, so I guess it was just really putting pressure on my intestines or something.

But the condition is removed, and that's what matters.

I hope your recovery goes without a hitch, Xeo. Hernias really suck.

I'm really happy to hear you finally had the operation, and that it was successful. But definitely not excited to hear about the panic attack.

Get well soon.

Well, I'm glad that it didn't go any worse, that seriously sounds like a shitty visit!

Well everyone, I'm alive. Surgery was yesterday morning. Such a simple surgery turned into a nightmare, I can surely say that. When it was all said and done and I was in my private room getting ready to leave I told my mom "I'm never fucking doing this again", I've never said anything like that in front of her before.

So here's the chain reaction:
- We had to call in the day before because they never called, apparently they had an address and phone number to a place we lived like 4 houses back at. Pure luck.
- Firstly I didn't sleep Wednesday night. As you've all probably heard me say a lot, I do have major insomnia and it was just one of those nights. The slight nervousness probably didn't help. So no sleep probably didn't help at all.
- Secondly when we got there and I was talking with Admission to get ready, I was told we needed a financial aid counselor since we had no insurance, we were never contacted about this (again could be the address mix up), but they finally got a hold of somebody and the aid was pleased with how "pleasant" I was and I put down a chunk, hopefully that means they'll go easy on me.

- So I get in on time and go back to get my gown on and ready, get into bed and so far so good. I meet the anesthesia guy who was pretty fun to be around and another nurse was around, both asking questions and stuff. First off this place was a bigger hospital than I was at for my last surgery two years ago, so instead of private area's I was just in one big room with curtains separating me and other patients. A bit nerve racking. Well then the fun begins, the anesthesiast misses a vein on my hand and hit a valve or something, which absolutely hurt like hell. I didn't want to look at it, he's trying to fix that up while some guy across from me is asking questions and doing paperwork, then another girl comes in to do the same and all of a sudden I had for a first, what I'm guessing was a major anxiety panic attack. I started boiling and sweating like waterfalls, completely lost focus and barely answered the ladies questions, I can't even remember what she was talking about. Luckily one of the more profound nurses there got me going on anesthesia on my other hand so they got some fluids in me to calm me down.

Now all of a sudden other nurses noticed my wrist tag had a different code number than my paperwork. This was a huge deal and literally took them about an hour and a half to fix. So instead of 7:30, I remember going in around 9:00. This definitely didn't help my patience and anxiety.

Finally I get in and it was easy to get to that other table, get that mask on, I was ready. It happened and all went well from what I'm hearing.

But afterwords I wake up and the complications continue. I wake up to excruciating pain and on a scale of 0-10 I was telling them an 8, so they loaded me up with drugs. Now it gets worse because I have to pee real bad, so they hand me a container and I literally tried to go for about 30 minutes to an hour. I even was able to stand up with another nurse thinking that might help but it didn't. My heart rate was in the 130-140's and the nurse wasn't going to let me go anywhere. They then tell me all the pain meds can cause this and I'd probably need to be catherated. They did a bladder scan and I had 650 units of whatever when they said 250 is about when normal people go to the bathroom, so it had to be done. They basically stuck something up there and sucked it our or something. Not very pleasant but at this point I didn't even care and it felt good to get that all out. After this my heart rate dropped and I finally did better.

Eventually they took me to a private room to meet up with my mom, then I get dressed and almost starting crying from the pain and shock apparently, because it was so damn hard to get dressed. Got some gram crackers and sprite in me which was good. Finally wheel chaired out and headed home.

The whole day I felt like shit from all the drugs and took a few bites of my dinner, but it got better as the day went on.

Today I'm doing much better, got a lot of rest yesterday and the same today. Probably going to bed again right now.

So yeah, that really sucked ass. But it's over and I'm alive. I don't know if that's your typical day at surgery, but I certainly don't want to do that again.

You ain't kidding. Although to defend the doctors this isn't a simple "Walk in and get this done" type of surgery. This could take months worth of planning. So here is hoping your wait time is short and sweet.

Also, even though my dad had a double hernia he never had surgery. But he is starting to worry me lately. His knees swell up on most nights to the point to where it looks like he has baseballs inside of them. It's not a pretty sight. Not to mention he is royally fucked on getting any type of surgery thanks to his bad taxes and whatnot. I don't see how my dad can sleep at night.

Fucking hell. I'm so sorry to hear that. Probably best to try to not find a job or get out much right now. I wouldn't want you to aggravate it.

Holy shit, apparently I'm NOT getting the surgery done on the 6th and just getting in to see the doctor about it.

Even though I was told originally by someone else it was a scheduled surgery and I was going to receive further details in the mail about it.

And now I can't even get a price on the walk in because "The doctor has to know the specifics and all".

I'm trying to work around this to get a job and this is not helping at all.

I'm sure it can, but since my stomach has been sitting that way for so long it's probably all misshapen anyway, so...

I'm not too terribly worried about it, I just can't swallow humongous bites. Either way I like to enjoy my food!

I didn't have it since birth though, I'm sure of that. I had regular x-rays for something I had when I was younger (not sure what it was) and it just popped up one year. Being a tubby little bastard didn't help, I'm sure, because they pop up in fatties more than anybody.

Wow, can it be repaired? Kind of sounds like maybe one you've had since birth or something.

Nope, but I can feel it at all times. I saw x-rays of it when I was younger (about 10 or 11) and it's a piece of my stomach that's about the size of my fist being strangled by a small piece of my diaphragm about the size of a dime or nickle. Needless to say, I can't take big bites of any sort of food without gagging on it and I have to swallow things bit by bit.

The pain that is caused when food gets lodged in the hole is excruciating and I tend to panic whenever it happens, one time some steak got caught there for 4 hours and I thought I was going to die while the rest of my mom and a friend laughed at me the whole time... Not a pleasant evening.

There's someone younger than you who's had four? Geez...

Well, if it's only been a couple weeks, you should be fine.

I saw this a few weeks back and thought of our talks of what a happenin' place Kansas can be:

Luckily it hasn't been obstructing my actual manhood, it's just far too powerful!

But yeah, the side issues seem to be stomach related. So I hope there's no internal damage. I'm not really in physical pain and it just popped up physically 1-2 months ago, so hopefully I'm beating it to the punch here before any real damage gets done. I can feel it though, sometimes when I sit down it feels like a ball in there... very unpleasing.

It does suck to hear people can get them again though. I guess one of my sisters friends has had 4 and he's younger than me, damn.

Yeah I'm probably way too self conscience about this junk, but oh well!

Sorry to hear about your groin troubles, boss, but happy to hear it's being looked into.

Guess the ladies will have to pause a while before partaking in the Xeo man again. I don't know how they'll ever survive.

Reason why I ask is because my father had one. Except it was a double Hernia. He had his removed months after it was diagnosed. I just can not imagine the pain.

Interestingly enough it's just us guys in this thread so far that have this stuff... haha. Well I guess women have their deals too! But yeah it sounds like it's more common for men to get this stuff.

Yasu: Yeah luckily there's a bathroom right outside my room, but yeah... stairs. I'm hearing people say that could be an issue, my mom said she'll probably take the first day off though to help get me food or whatever.

Bitmap: Well the only two jobs I've had so far were pretty physical. I remember back in my Jiffy Lube days there were times when we had to stock boxes of oil, carrying them downstairs and all. I remember carrying three at a time, more than others, which was probably stupid! And at my last job at a warehouse I remember doing some heavy lifting with boxes of ice and stuff.

I am pretty curious to know if they'll be able to tell how long I've had the hernia? I dunno, in the research I've done though it sounds like you can have them for months or even years without noticing. But I got really physically active again about two months ago and probably went way too over the top with the weights, so that's when it popped up. I just don't know if it'd pop out so quickly after just two months, so I wonder if I've had it for awhile. Honestly I wonder if it's caused some bowel complications... and I do feel like I get bloated pretty easily, and "gassy" sometimes where I can just feel it sitting in my lower stomach. I have a feeling I shouldn't feel like that too often, so I'm kind of hoping this might fix that stuff too. But I guess it's maybe possible I have ulcers again, I dunno. I had some in the past.

All in all I really am tired of this shit, lol. I am definitely finding out within these last few years what it's like to not be a teenager anymore. Gotta work to keep healthy now. So I'm doing what I can to change up my diet, been really good about drinking water this year, and hopefully when I recover from this surgery I'm gonna start being consistent about hitting up the gym and whatnot again (taking it slower this time!...)
