Hurray! I'm glad your kitty is better!
It's always so distressing when a pet is sick/injured. =/ |

Looks like she might be in the clear. I tried checking around her tail and hind legs and didn't see or feel anything and she didn't growl at me this time.
Thanks for the concern, both of you. |

I don't see a claw any more; however, whenever I try to inspect her back end, on her hips she freaks out. If I don't touch it, she seems to be fine otherwise. I wonder if she has an abscess because I don't feel anything sticking out and it seems more fluid-like (like a blister or something) if anything.
If I can hold her down long enough to look it over, I'll let you know what I see. |

OK, I checked the wound last night and didn't see the claw. However, she was extremely temperamental having the back end of her body touched (near the tail), but she wouldn't sit still long enough to see if she had any open wounds or abscesses.
ARGH. |

Ouch.. Yeah, I would definitely get it out then... If it hurts when it's touched it's most likely inflamed. Poor kitty. |

It's more of a sensitive spot on her that if you touch by mistake or while petting her she makes a whimpering sound.
She seems to be functioning fine otherwise. Still, while it's tempting to try to pull it out right now, I know it'll hurt a lot to do that. |

Is it bothering her? If it isn't, I wouldn't really worry about spending horrendous amounts at a vet... It might eventually pop out, similarly to the way a splinter would... or the immune system may break it down. If she's not sick or in pain... well.. I guess it's up to you. |

My cat, whom this stray cat likes to wander into our yard to mess with, has had this open wound in her side which my mom had been tending to while I held her tight and tried to not look at the wound which was making me freak out.
I just noticed there's a claw lodged in her side and the skin grew around it. FUUUCK!! Must make appointment to see a vet. |
