I dunno, did anyone catch the last episode of Smallville? He finally put on the suit and you never actually see any close-ups of him in it. Just a smaller, animated him and then tight shots of his face.
That last episode apparently pissed a lot of people off. |

Honestly, that last picture reminds me of Olivia Munn, and that bothers me, especially since she released that book, "Suck It, Wonder Woman."

Well, that second picture with the red boots looked better than the first one at least. But yeah, the vinyl... maybe different material? I mean, Spiderman's costume kept the same color scheme and it looked fine.
I do think that the pants look better. I mean, a real person, even an Amazon, would have been freezing in those hot pants running around. |

Spider-Man movies did an awesome job with costumes. For this, just tone down the colors, like in the original concept. |

Yeah, it seems really hard to cater to the fans while still retaining a look you can ... take seriously I guess. Perhaps this suit is just a bit too "bright", kind of like Superman's as you said. I'm all for classic designs and kind of hate when they're really modernized, but yeah. Guess it's just hard to find a middle ground, for most and me personally. |

Yeah, you might just be onto something there. This really does look like a page out of Cosplay in America.
I mean, like on something like say Smallville, which this sounds like its in the same vein, they sort of downplayed the costumes. Same with Heroes, and hell, even most modern comic book movies. You don't see Hugh Jackman running around in yellow Spandex. I think that's part of why Superman Returns didn't do as well as something like Batman Begins or Dark Knight. Granted, someone with special gadgets running around in an armored bat-suit isn't very credible, but it's more realistic than a guy in blue tights with a red cape flying around. |

So what are your thoughts of the new Wonder Woman costume? It's for the NBC pilot that's currently being shot.

It looks like they're trying to reflect the new costume in the comics, since Diana was fairly recently given pants in place of the star spangled-hot pants. Honestly, it looks rather silly, especially the red vinyl. I mean, I know super heroes dress like this in comics, but once put into practice in "the real world" of movies and TV shows that take place in the present, it just... well, doesn't look right. |
