Uganda is a really REALLY twisted country to be quite honest. I've talked to some of the guards from Uganda and they are particularly happy to be in Iraq supporting their families. I've been told that the country itself is like two sides to a coin. Really awesome for tourism... Really hard on citizens though. |

That is disgusting. How can people even pretend that kind of thing is okay?! |

Hey maybe they ought to punch babies right in their stupid gay baby faces. That should show them!
Wait, it won't. And neither does Rape. It's a lot like launching a nuke into a nuclear reactor trying to stop "Nuclear power". |

Yeah, I had seen some of that. On a side note, I adore Louis Theroux. He has some intense (though thoroughly amusing) interviews.
This news piece just came out in the L.A. Times about South Africa having a big issue with violence against homosexuals and mentions the Uganda legislation. This sort of caught me, though I wasn't shocked to read it:

Hey Rogue, did you know that the BBC reporter actually revisited the church three years later?
I know this is kinda derailing the thread quite a bit and any mention of the church causes a massive storm. I'm sure once this bill passes there will be a ton of videos of Uganda. |

He's so farcical that his speech about coprophagia is difficult to take seriously.
It reminds me of this sign the WBC has that reads something like "Fags Eat Poop." When the journalist asked Shirley about it saying, "Is this in the Bible?" She answered, "That's a FACT, hon." Link. These people like to just pull the most shocking stuff and over-generalize, insisting that what a minority does is true for the whole and therefore they must be put to death and so on. Martin Ssempa is beloved by extremist American evangelists, especially for his demands that homosexuals be mass-murdered. I haven't heard what the WBC has to say about Ssempa, but I'm sure they'd still knock his ideals. |

I find it funny that this pastor who condones this actually shows the pornography to the masses to get his point across.
yeah, that's good preaching right there. Dumbass |

Non violent acceptance? No... There's still violence all over the bible belt over acceptance.
I saw this on Tosh.O |

Ironically, the first thought that crossed my mind was, "Wow, the politicians of Uganda are totally gay..."
It's hilarious that they say they're against sodomy, but by the definition of the word, anybody who has had oral or anal or even anybody who has dry humped is a sodomite. I'm fairly sure that most of the people there are guilty. Instead, they boldly label sodomy as homosexual intercourse and never deviate from that mind frame. I'm thinking they need to find a different word to be against. Come to America, land of majorly non-violent acceptance*. You'll be more than welcome here! *St. Louis, Detroit, Memphis, Oakland and Baltimore are clear exceptions. |

I'd been following this for a while now after seeing a video on it put out by Current. Here's a part of it: You can find the whole video detailing this anti-gay movement here: link The full video pretty much showed how Uganda is destroying the lives of people suspected of being gay by putting their pictures in the paper alleging that they are. The original bill was demanding the death penalty for homosexuals and lesbians, which the bill has finally steered away from. What are your thoughts on this? |
