I'm personally all for this, if we can get something together. I too have a webcam and I would even stream if need be! Heck, I would even DANCE for charity (DDR style, not exotic)! |

IWBTG isn't difficult so much as it's just the most annoying puzzle game ever conceived. I'd not suggest it for anything, really, as I don't care much for the game myself.
I'm not sure I've ever seen people marathon Commander Keen before, and they aren't particularly easy platformers. Alternatively there's notorious challenging platformers like the classic Mega Man games, the Contra series, and Metal Slug. I mean, you mentioned games, so that's what I was thinking along the lines of, not a fan creation that's meant to troll a fan creation that's meant to troll. Because Suicide Adventure was already trolling as it were.. |

Please don't bring "I wanna be the guy" downloadable game into this charity.
Please repeat this post until it's in your skull that it's a terrible "Hard" game to play. Just remember to be creative. |

Well, if it has to do with games, there are various approaches, naturally. There's been the "play X game until you drop" marathon, as well as "trying to beat the most difficult game ever" types. I personally have a webcam, and while I don't have hardware to stream any of my consoles, I do have plenty of emulators, and a PC that can handle up to PS2 emulation. I also have games like Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition on it, and, a disgustingly vast Steam library.
I mean, that's if the fundraising can be acted out by someone other than you who's willing. As far as my personal focus goes, I can play action and fighting games even while I sleep, so if anything, I volunteer. |

So, I know it's a little early for this thread. And I know some of you guys might not do something for charity. But I feel like doing something for kids this year.
Let me begin. I'm a freemason / Shriner for well over two years now. I have been doing charity events for Shriner hospitals for the entire duration I have been into this fraternity and let me tell you on the joys and wonders in doing so. On my first event. I was clowned up at a shriner hospital in Alabama. You see children who were burned, have back problems, and all around hurt and in pain. Just being there as yourself being a clown playing with kids was enough to make their day. Now, I won't speak too much about my reaction at the end of the day. But i'll say that I had a human reaction. I'll admit. I cried. hard. It was an experience I will never forget. I got a chance to play simple games with kids. It's something that I wanted to share with the world. Now, I know most of you guys won't go into a fraternity such as I am with. It's pure choice. But what I can say is that I want to start a first ever Xeogaming charity. For the kids. This Christmas. Yes. Christmas. Now, to make this fun. I am willing and able to do within guidelines on something -I-, Bitmap, would have to do to help raise money for something for kids. Now, the charity has got to do with videogames. This is Xeogaming. I think we need to do something with games, and getting kids into playing videogames. Now there are some very good charity events out there that have held great events to support charities. Take Desert Bus for HOPE for example. They play the most boring game imaginable so long as people keep forking up money. And have become wildly successful. And not to take snaps into what Desert Bus for HOPE does or anything. But I think we can do something similar and it may not be as successful. But from the eyes of a child that is sitting in a hospital who isn't reached out by this charity. At least we can. It's September. And we have plenty of time to plan and react accordingly. Do you think we can make this happen? I, for one, am all for this. And I am going to do whatever the hell it takes to get your wallets open wide in hopes that a kid can get presents this year. Oh, and final thoughts? Just because I will be doing this does not mean I won't get my wallet open as well. I'll donate in any means necessary. But I also want support from the community as well. Like I said, we have time to plan this. But don't be afraid to shout out some random shit. I am well known to do random things on Youtube as a spur of the moment deal. Let's start sharing ideas. it's time we think about the kids brohans. Think about the kids. |
