I never thought the Crying Indian cliche would come true. |

Yeah, I guess it's just shocking that the country would do that in this day and age when all the world's been going on about saving the rainforest and protecting the Amazon for decades.
I'm still just pissed that I only heard about this now. |

As much as I would like to say I can't believe a government would do this to its people, I'm American. I totally can believe it.

I remember the James Cameron video when it came out... but yeah, I didn't know that it got approved. That is just so depressing. |

Chief Raoni weeps after hearing that the Belo Monte dam will be built. (Photo courtesy of the Support Chief Raoni Facepook page) Originally posted by The Washington Post So this news is a bit old (it was posted in June, and I'm honestly quite pissed I hadn't heard about this before, mostly with myself for being in the dark), but I only just found it now and I can't help but feel sick. I'm sure the dam would be very helpful (and really who am I to have any say in this as an American 20-something that probably won't be affected by this?), but I just feel angry. Thoughts? EDIT: James Cameron made a video protesting the dam: |
