Heh, that or I almost like the idea that like more transcended human beings kind of left us here as they went elsewhere. The first episode kind of hinted at that here and there though I don't think everyone was totally pushing for that idea, but I like it. Almost like you could maybe wonder if "God" or the many Gods out there are just many different humans, or God being made up of several humans throughout time.
The funny and nerdy thing is this was kind of a twist in one of the Halo games about the Forerunner (they built all the Halo's and this crazy technology in that universe and turns out they were just humans from centuries ago), one of the series more subtle side plots that I thought was kind of neat. Originally posted by Byte I think that's why my friends were freaking out about this, he seems to be some kind of meme... lol. |

I watched the first episode of season 1 as well, with the figurines that when made larger (and to scale) could actually fly. It made me think that it was humans traveling back in time rather than aliens. Humans, at some point in the distant future create a time machine, decide they want better technology earlier, so teach the ancient Egyptians, Incas, etc how to fly. Mother nature, to prevent any sort of paradox, made it so that these things were forgotten through timeā¦ And all that's left to do is conspire about it.

The best part about this show is Giorgio Tskoukalos. His ideas are so crazy, it's hilarious, and his fake tan and hair are amazing. |

Honestly I watched the entire first episode on youtube and quite enjoyed it, haha. It definitely gets hokey at times, but I just love this kind of stuff especially when they started talking about the pyramids, Easter Island, and Pumapunku was out of this world.
Also thought it was hilariously funny how some of the old Biblical art they showed earlier in the episode reminded me of stuff from Berserk. |

I don't have cable, but based on what I'm seeing in these clips I looked up, any time you see a disc in ancient art it MUST be a UFO. You know, not the sun.
I don't know. I don't really go for hokey, fakey history documentaries. Not that I don't believe in aliens, I mean, there's gotta be other life out there, it's just this comes off as conspiracy theory grasping that I'm a bit annoyed is on the History Channel at all. |
