Except that Steve Feak, the designer of the original DotA Allstars which is easily the most famous DotA from Warcraft 3, works at Riot Games, the company behind LoL. So it's honestly not a knock-off. In fact, it's labeled as a MOBA game instead of a DotA, which is one of the reasons why it plays so much differently. |

Downloading Dota2 right now. But I'm working this evening so I won't be able to play it until tomorrow afternoon. Which is fine.
Also Kaijin, main reason people got banned from games was because there was absolutely no matchmaking system in place in the first game. Making people who played horribly or were new to join servers they had to research to just learn how to play the game. Dota2 fixes this, and is quickly becoming one of the hottest games on Steam. LoL and it's competition are knock-offs of Dota and Dota2 is the -real deal-. So if you like LoL, you will be missing out. And it seems that Dota2 will be F2P. Which is ok as long as it's not a pay to win kinda game. |

LoL is like Dota, witha much more organized Item recipe system, actually tells you, as you buy crap, what the item can become, with shortcuts to said items.
On the flip side that made me LIKE this game, was that if you die, you don't get banned. if your new, you dont' get banned. If you kill one mob at the wrong time, you don't get banned, if you don't buy the right item, you don't get banned, if you try a diffrent strategy, you don't get banned. Also, if you have fun, you don't get banned. Did I mention you don't get banned? (Fuck you, Dota) |

I'm more interested in DOTA2 to be fairly honest. I tried LOL for awhile but that was back on my shit computer. DOTA2 looks like it's just as fun and if not better than LOL.
Plus I hope DOTA2 is not F2P. I hate that garbage |

I spent $30 on Starcraft 2 just to get sucked into LoL instead. For the longest time, I hated DotA games. Now I can't stop playing it! |
