Magic: The Gathering, of course. Why, did it interest you?

I guess I'll ask some questions now.

Elara - What are a few of your most important goals right now?

Kinda... I haven't dealt with newer sets since the Darksteel block, so I didn't recognize the cards.

Anyway... my goals right now are mostly to get my Master's degree and a stable job that pays a decent amount. I have a feeling that I am going to be totally broke and miserable by the end of this just because of how things are going with the school and state (seriously, I am now convinced I should've stayed in California longer and just done the program there).

Next after that would probably be to get off my ass and back to writing. Be it stuff for the LARP I work on, the novel based on that setting, or finally finishing Darkfang (though I am thinking of chucking it because I don't think I ever will finish that one). I will hopefully soon have one published work in the upcoming Pathfinder Anthology Volume 2 that will be unpaid... but hey, I get my work out there, and at GenCon no less.

I must admit, it has to be the fact that I've turned my life around. I'm in college and I'm doing very well, contrasting perfectly with how badly I did in high school.

Also, I'm changing my major. Computer Science is no longer my goal, I want to study Theoretical Physics.

Not at the moment. Since graduating I've been full time caretaker for my 90-year-old grandmother. I've had a couple articles published lately by my university's alumni magazine (steampunk creator story: link, and the student veterans story: link), but I don't have any active projects at the moment, no.

Hmn, that is a tough one. I am inclined to say the Empyrean Odyssey trilogy just because of how convoluted and annoying the characters and the plot was... plus it seems to be part of the series of Forgotten Realms novels that moved the setting into Fourth Edition D&D (and therefore ruined the setting). The only reason I kept reading it was because the main character was a big part of an earlier series that I actually did like... and the hope of another character from that same series being brought back from the dead.

It happened. It was done in the dumbest way possible.

A close second would have to be the Dragonriders of Pern books... I just could NOT get into them no matter how hard I tried, and I felt rather bad about it because I liked the author's one sci-fi trilogy just fine.

Xeo - Hardest game you've ever played and why?

Meh. I've got a turn 3 Infect deck to kill it. I've got an Eldrazi deck that can put Emrakul on the field turn 4. Or, simply, you can just run a R/U aggro/control deck to counter them and run the board. Or use a control white deck and run Oblivion Ring and Fiend Hunter in them. /game

Wow, I have questions. And I feel so shitty for not answering them sooner.

Most memorable is bit tricky, since my memory is so shitty these days and I forget a lot of details. I could easily fall back on places like Arizona or the San Francisco area since I go to those places a lot.

Hm.. I guess I'd pick Greece. I could totally cheat and say the Mediterranean, but I'll narrow it down. I've always wanted to go to Greece and I've been really happy with the few parts of it I've seen, most especially these caves we had to go through on little fishing boats. They were GORGEOUS. I mean, my camera could never do them justice. Afterward, Brandon and I went out to lunch at an ouzzerie and ate so much good food. We'd also gone to Rhodes, took donkeys up to the Acropolis at Lindos with my mom, and we all had a great time on the island overlooking the Aegean.

Hm, well, as I've gotten older I've come to realize that Indian food and I don't get along. And the one time I had what would have been construed as English curry, it was served in a pasty, and also made my stomach explode.

So it comes down to Thai and Japanese. I like both equally, really, but not when the Thai one uses coconut milk as a base. It's not that I don't like it, so much as it's just something I still haven't quite become accustomed.

So Japanese just wins by default, I guess. It's just more of a brown sauce and not filled with spices that make my stomach hate me 10 minutes later.

My liege, Xeo Besides the board, what have you accomplished that you are most proud of?

I guess one that comes to mind is getting an endorsement in Game Design back in high school. I thought that was pretty epic. I had to do a speech in front of 500 some people or something like you often see in movies, I thought I was going to poop my pants but pulled it off really well. Think I might be one that's better at doing that, than speaking in front of small groups where it's a bit more awkward, lol. It was funny seeing some of my friends who thought they had it in the bag, then we they stepped up to the podium it sounded like they were choking and going through puberty.

Maybe I had a career in front of me, could have gone to Arizona with a lot of my friends and been ahead of the game, but I easily decided I didn't have the patience for it and most importantly didn't want to turn my favorite hobby into a job (even though I guess some people might prefer that). And 80,000 worth of loans or more didn't sound all that fun for those specialty schools... lol.

Years later, I think most of my friends that went that path didn't really accomplish it and are now just drowning in debt.

I, unfortunately, work at the Philly Pretzel Factory. It's a part time job that treats me like shit. For instance, the injury I sustained that I mentioned prior. Yeah, the owner got pissed at me that I "did something so stupid" and was considering replacing me when I got back. Meh. I wouldn't have cared. Fuck that nigga.

Hahaha. Nothing special, really. I was cutting up a large chunk of dough so that I could throw it into a mix we were doing. It was Super Bowl Sunday, so we were swamped and I was rushing around like an idiot because we were short two people. On the last cut, I felt the knife slice right into my thumb. It didn't hurt too much; I've had plenty worse done to me. I applied pressure right away and ran to the bathroom to clean it off. I glanced down and, voila, I was staring at a large chunk of fat that was hanging out of a hole in my thumb. I called out to my boss to let him know and got to rinsing that son of a bitch. It still isn't all of the way healed, but I'll live. i was just surprised I had to go to the hospital xD After my heart condition, things like that don't bother me anymore. :p

Hey, you and I are the only men that can rock the woman colors of the board. We are fabulous. <3 And thanks, it's good to hear that I'm actually funny xD

But, my life. Hm. Let's start with when I disappeared from the board, I suppose. I don't remember what i had you guys caught up on, so we'll start there. I had begun preparations for moving out. You know, Phoenix wanted to be a big boy and do big kid things. That whole story. Well, Phoenix also got screwed over by his boss (another reason I dislike him). I was promised a minimum amount of hours before I moved out, so that way I knew I was able to support myself. My boss decided to start giving me less than half of those promised hours. So, I got screwed out of living out of my parents house, but more importantly, out of going to school. I had less than $50 in my bank account when the new semester rolled around.

So, needless to say, I moved back in with my parents. They were really cool about it 9they were the ones who offered), and I've been here again for about two weeks now. And boy was I happy to get away from my roommates. Besides Vince (yes, the very one who used to post here and my best of friends), I hated them all. Not when I first moved in, of course; but a slow progression. They were slobs, the thought the world revolved around them, they broke the rules of the lease, they whined and cried like little babies, etc. I don't consider myself an angry person. I bottle my anger (yeah, it's bad for you, but I literally feel like I'd kill someone if I let it out). So in order for them to set me off, they had to push me very far. And they did several times while I was living with them. There are still a few problems because they're trying to gip me out of money, so if they don't pay me, I'm just going to get them evicted and ruin their lives. That's how much they've pissed me off.

Other than sad things, I have an amazing girlfriend in my life. Some of you know I had a rough break up with a somewhat...controlling ex-girlfriend. We've actually had contact, and she's much better, but I don't think she was ever actually my type anyway. My current girlfriend, however, is a petite, nerdy brunette who (get this) loves Deadpool. So yeah, I'm fucking thrilled xD I love her, and we've been dating for almost 10 months now (wow, have I been gone that long?).

Other than that, nothing special has really been going on. I play Magic: the Gathering a lot, I started collecting Nerf guns to shoot Vince and my family with, and I watch "Whose Line is it Anyway?" all the time. I also fancy "Big Bang Theory", and I haven't written in ages. I really need to get on that.

Sheesh. I don't even talk to my friends IRL this much. Hahahahaha. Socially awkward, but I won't stop typing on the internet. I'll ask some questions later :p

Miku, eh? I believe I was on either 4chan's /a/ or /v/ at the time, and I wasn't sure if it was a video game or an anime. Then I was linked to this video and I thought it was completely badass! Anime-themed voicebanks that users can generate their own music with? AWESOME!

As far as obsessed? Not really. I have a Miku Plushie and my desktop is Miku themed because she has the best backgrounds on the interwebs, in my humble opinion. My favourite Vocaloid is probably Gumi at the moment.

Ah... you will be by Hershey Park then... so yeah, there is that. Nice theme park, and then the free park where you can take a "tour" of the "factory" with creepy singing cows and pay to make your own candy bar (rather fun, actually). There are also a lot of historic sites and some Indian caves near there (Indian Echo Cavern is the one we visited... it was pretty neat).

Hockey games, mostly. I've not had much time for fun activities lately with school and work. Though when I did have the time we went to museums, checked out national landmarks, and went to concerts and stuff in Pittsburgh. What part of PA are you going to? I know there is much more fun stuff on the eastern side of the state near Philly.

What inspires me? That is an interesting question. I suppose my dislike of failure for one thing, as well as the satisfaction of getting things done and done well. For my writing, it's a bit harder to define... just whatever really sounds interesting. A simple idea can spawn a huge backstory leading up to it, that kinda thing... I suppose I can blame the history training for that.

Well, I can't explain the second part of that question. I was just graced with good genes and a swell booty.

I've been...around. Lol. Mainly, I've been on facebook just posting a bunch of bullshit. I also got sucked into reddit for a while. Talk about hypnotism. But besides the internet, I've been a little busy with moving out, being broke, moving back in, cutting off part of my thumb and watching "Whose Line?". I think I'm back for good this time, though. Most of the internet bores me, and I'd like to be back where I can have actual conversations with people. But not in real life. Good luck getting me to talk to anyone in person.

Bitmap: As a gamer, what do you look for in a game?

This is a very difficult question to answer because either I can make a big post explaining what I look forward to videogames. Or I can just point to a trailer and say "Something like this". It's nothing really anyone can't answer repetitively and honestly. I really don't know. Ive been known to play games that are really "Out there" and a week later I'm hooked on something else.

But I guess as long as the game itself is fun and a lot of people enjoy it. Thats all that really matters.

Holy shit, Phoenix post!

Um... I just kinda always liked writing. The first thing I did was some school project in like third grade where we had to write a little storybook about a duck and that was really fun. Then I remember writing a story when I was in like seventh or eighth grade that I eventually trashed. Ninth grade had a lot of "use these vocabulary words in a story" assignments that really kicked my love of writing into high gear. I got As on all those papers, by the way. I don't think we really did much in class again until my senior year, and then it was another of those vocab papers and I decided to go all out with it. By that point I'd already become a gamer and had created my namesake character http://xeogaming.org/newreply.php?id=13830(Elara started as a D&D character for those of you that didn't know) and I'd created a huge backstory for her... and I decided to use that as my story... and to write a trilogy of books on her.

The story went over well, and I worked on it for awhile after that... but then changes to the world of D&D (cough4theditioncough) trashed that idea. I'd already kinda put it on the backburner for Darkfang at that point anyway.

Darkfang... well.... the idea just kinda came to me while sitting in my college English class one day. I started darting down notes and writing stuff and that was that. I still mean to finish it one day as well, but I've been kinda sidetracked by a different and much more pressing major project: Cobalt Nightmares. It's a LARP that my friends and I developed and is 95% my creation as far as the world goes. I've created the world, it's history, the cultures, gods, two languages (roughly), and a database of names that is going on 10 pages now. I do plan to write a novel in that world as well, I've just been lazy... and now there is school.

!X!: Where the fuck have you been? You need to post more, because it's been far too long.
