I watch Hanna Hart's stuff... mainly My Drunk Kitchen... it is hilarious.
But yeah... the whole idea of YouTubers being a thing and all is just kinda weird. But then again it might be the best thing ever later on... who knows? |

Geek & Sundry, but only because it posts The Guild. Not really following it these days.
I'm waiting for the new season of Fallout: Nuka Break to finally post. I gave money to their Kickstarter to make the new one, since I loved the fan film and first season. I've also been a follower of Mega64's work for nearly a decade now. There's a whole story to their videos, but they haven't really been saying anything about the fourth season they've supposedly been working on. I watch Lindsey Stirling's videos, but I've sort of been falling off on them. I dunno. It's one of those "She got too popular and she knows it" sort of feelings. Then there's all the steampunk and other things I watch. I dunno.. so much stuff online. |

"It caught on" I guess sums it up, just like Facebook, social media, and all this jazz.
Still one of the sites I frequent the most nowadays, but yeah... still those frequent layout changes suck. Any channels you guys check out often? |

I definitely know what you're talking about. So many of the things I loved are just gone for one reason or another. Usually it's one of those "a third party has alerted us that this is a copyright violation" dealies. And many things have just been straight-up deleted by the user.
I feel like YouTube has been more harnessed by the corporations and studios. Time was the top video was Evolution of Dance with a million views, now it's a horserace between whatever Lady Gaga or Rhianna video has come out, racking up hundreds of millions of hits. |

Finally cleared this out and will remove the forum when I have super access too again.
Anyways, this is simple enough to sum up... but do you guys remember when youtube... was good? Yeah I still frequent it all the time, have become a big fan of some of the cool retro reviews/collectors on there that have gotten pretty big, HCBailly is the one LPer I enjoy, etc. But damn, the constant layout changes have been a downgrade by the update, the site explodes "corporate" more than ever before now, and I recently saw an article about how ISP's are lately intentionally slowing down connections to the site all the time now. Remember when a buffered video would be easy to skim around or repeat once it was finished? I can't remember the last time it was that easy. Half my playlists of videos and music, etc, have been deleted overtime. They used to keep the title to the video so I could at least remember what the heck I had saved in a playlist, but now it's just straight up [DELETED VIDEO] and nothing more. Youtube... nostalgia? |
