Originally posted by FX That's quite an apt review, actually. Honestly, since it sounds so much like Marvin Gaye's "Got To Give It Up" the sound of the song is actually not bad. The mysogyny of the video and lyrics, not to mention the hashtags, is what makes it all bullshit. But even on the grounds of the music and composition, Marvin Gaye's family is in a suing mood since they say he stole Marvin's song to which Robin Thicke preemptively sued THEM to protect his "rapey" tune. |

All right, so if you have a Facebook account, chances are you're getting inundated with opinions about last night's VMAs. Particularly when it comes to Miley Cyrus' performance.
Not being up on what the kids are listening to these days, I didn't realize it when one of my friends pointed out that everyone should be angry about the portion when Robin Thicke (not even sure who he is) came out and started singing a song that's from the perspective of a date rapist. So I looked up the song, which I thought was a cover of a '60s song or something with how it sounded and since I couldn't hear or make out the lyrics. Anyway, I ended up watching the music video that went with "Blurred Lines." Tell me what you think. CAUTION: NOT SAFE FOR WORK/KIDS/PARENTS. |
