Fanbases often make or break my patience with a fandom.

I never got into "Lost," but in the early days when I partially considered watching it, I was at Comic-Con and got stuck in a swarm of "Lost" fans. I was just walking the exhibit hall floor and got pulled into a crowd and couldn't move (which freaks me out, like you can't believe). I'm asking what's going on and it turns out a bunch of members of the cast are at this booth signing posters. I end up pushed toward the front of the herd, and pissed off, I shouted, "You mean, overdramatic Gilligan's Island? Fuck this!" and fought my way out. And just on principle I never watched an episode of the show.

And yeah, I have worse stories about things like "Twilight" and "Harry Potter," but that involves talking about people I shouldn't bring up in polite society.

Yes, but... he's honestly kind of old news next to Miley Cyrus, haha. I am honestly unable to find myself understanding what the big deal is about either one of them. He's a preppy teen music star, who cares?

And for that matter, why all the hate? I mean, so what? He's a dumb kid. That's it.

That would be a bullet, my friend. I have happily forgotten that he exists as of late... hopefully I can regain that state after being reminded of him.

As far as I've heard the White House doesn't want to get involved and is delaying response in the hope that people will forget.

Agreed, this guy is scum because fame is breaking him. He plunged south with his music, and he recently donated $500k+ to a charity as a PR act to try to turn himself around. I dunno if there's still that deporting threat looming over him.

I originally only disliked him because of his music. However, that all changed when he started turning into a raging d****ebag. I can think of multiple examples where I've been unfortunate enough to hear news of his horrible behavior.

I'd personally find it hilarious if they actually deport him though. He wouldn't really have much to lose, but it goes back to Katana's example.

It seems almost disappointing about how he degraded so quickly, compared to others. I remember when everyone thought he was so nice and perfect and stuff.

South Park touched on the whole redefining "fag" and how they don't mean it to disparage gay people when they're talking about someone being a dick, and I accept that when others say things are "gay" or "retarded" they aren't, in their hearts, trying to put down these groups.

I was more referring to the people who were outright alleging that Bieber is homosexual and trying to tear him down as if by saying he's such it means he's inferior.

But to address the topic, you're absolutely right. The article even mentions there are much more weighty topics out there that should be addressed, but because of the number of people who've signed this thing the White House has to respond.

We're back to situations like the Hostess snack cake shutdown that happened at the same time Israel invaded the Gaza Strip.

If something is actually enacted upon this, I will seriously rage quit. Everything.

"Let's raise the minimum wage because NO ONE can survive off of the current minimum. There's tons and tons of proof." "No." "Lets deport Justin Bieber because he is the only problem we have right now and the only bad example we have." "Okay."<---paraphrasing like an asshole here, but hopefully the point is made.

I get that the kid gets in trouble and is a bad example. I damn near had a heart attack when my niece said that she was going to marry him someday and that he's a prince. She has since left diapers and changed her opinion of him, but still. :p Kidding aside though, um...it was proven that Paul Walker's car was traveling at an unsafe speed, was it not?

My personal opinion of The Biebs isn't too great, but regardless of what I may think, I also can't deny that there aren't others just like him if not worse. Or that there's problems that are MUCH worse than this and at the very least, much more important.

Preface: I have no opinions on this kid or his music career (in the fact, I think I may have actually defended him when people would say, "Haha! He's gay!" and I'd go, "If he is, what's wrong with that? Why attack someone based on sexuality?"), but like any self-entitled celebrity there's a certain sense of schadenfreude I have in seeing them get what's coming to them.

And I agree this case is vastly over-reported, but here we go.

So the kid's possibly facing deportation back to Canada for his all-around bad behavior.

A petition on the White House's website demanding the kid be forcibly removed from the U.S. has over 100,000 signatures, which means Obama may be the one to make the call on this one.
